Hello, I put the short version on my profile, long version on
tumblr, and a medium version here
We're super anal about air quality coming out of the vaporizer. Here's my best explanation:
The answer to “does any air come in contact with any inner circuitry?" is “kind of but not really."
Kind of means a small portion of air goes past the inner parts of the vaporizer, although most comes in the front and skips by the circuit.
If you are wondering if any of the air you inhale comes in contact with anything toxic, the answer is nothing more than what you’d inhale if you were just breathing the air in your room.
Our circuitry is not just 100% Lead free by RoHS standards, but is designed carefully (in the USA) by engineers who don’t allow any parts to “run hot," which means there are no stinky plastic or metal fumes coming off the circuit.
We’ve had the air quality from the vaporizer sampled and analyzed in many ways, finding 99.9% of possible chemical exposure coming from the room and not the vaporizer. The greatest source of toxins in an inhale is coming out of the herbs, and after that, from the environment, such as dust, carpets, cabinets, walls, etc.
If you’re interested to know more about the safety of herbs, see this study by our friends at the Werc Shop Independent Laboratory.

From our experience testing other vaporizers, we’ve found that ones with a “clean air path" are not necessarily safe to use, as there are chemicals coming out of hot plastic (knockoffs), hot metal (aluminum), foam (Volcano’s intake filter), etc.
