Speaking of water tool adapters, here is one I converted from an appliance I got from DH Gate that may provide inspiration. I am very happy with it.
Here are the parts I removed from the original to accomidate the VM. The white piece in the foreground on the left is the wick and coil assembly and simply screws out leaving the positive post exposed inside the assembly. With the wick out of the way, a tooth pick or such poked thru from the bottom easily pushes the posittive terminal post out of the tube it resides in (more on this tube later) and the rubber grommet is removed in a similar manner from the top once the post is removed.
The outer diameter of the middle section of the Vapman was too large to fit in the adapter's cup but a bench grinder and wood file fixed that pretty quick (proceed at your risk if you choose to duplicate any part of this effort, my wood didn't split but yours may). Now, back to the tube that I mentioned earlier. It turns out it is the same external diameter as the white plastic moutpiece and fits tightly inside the hole in the VM middle section just as the mouth piece normally does, but it is made from thin gauge metal rather than thick plastic and has a much larger inside bore allowing much less restriction when vaping. Here's the interesting thing, the plastic mouth piece fits in the hole the wick assembly came from at the top so well the internal threads grab it and tightly secures it so it can be used without the glass if desired. In my case, it is the exact height needed to connect to the upper vapoor collection chamber and bypass the lower chamber the wick formerly resided in. So it can be used to prevent condensation of reclaim in the lower chamber, keeping it clean at the expense of tighter draw restriction. I will need to do a LOT more comparisons before I feel comfortable making a recommendation, but my initial impression is that either works great.
This is what the bottom chamber looks like after just a couple of bowls without the mouthpice connection so you can compare to the much more heavily used but clean lower chamber displyed in the first photo.
