I'm honestly amazed that I'm using the Vapman as often as I am. I have an LSV turned on on my desk, a Lotus sitting on it's WPA, a new rig my friend got, yet...I'm over here, with my little vapman, stem pulled out, and placed on my J-Hook. It's been two full weeks now, and I've pretty much only used my vapman. I'm only doing 1-2 bowls, as oppsed to 1-3 lsv bowls, and I'm getting just as stoned, with less herb, and more hits.
Granted, the hits aren't nearly as large, but the overall effects are equally as strong.
Just a different journey.
The LSV is a Bugatti, Lotus is a Corvette, and the Vapman is the efficiency of a Prius with the class of a Jag.

Perfect analogy...

Don't know if this is the right place to post, but I just received my custom tattooed vapman and this thing is amazing. I cancelled my order of another vaporizer (that I will not name) and spent the money on the vap and I couldn't be happier. Best customer service and support I've ever had. Thank you @vapman and @M0J0

Anywho, some questions for anyone willing to answer.

  • Smoke coming from canter of when using the torch normal? I'm assuming this is the charring that takes place which will act as heat protection, but I'm always paranoid lol

  • Should I be using the sieves for dry herbs, or are they just for concentrates? vice-versa?

Thanks again,

-Moonz
I am glad you like your new vapman as much I like customizing them!

I do my best to give the best customer service that is humanly possible - really. I think that personal relationships are more important than anything else. And I love this vaporizer so much, that I wish everyone would have one!

@vapman, you can't get rid of me that easily. I consider you my friend and it's awesome to brainstorm with you and to be part of this humbling vaporizer's life and history - even if it's a small part.

I have a question for you guys and gals:

Should I engrave some Classics as well? Because no one ever orders Tattooed Classics... They always order the Two-toned...

Keep in mind that I cannot engrave the bottom Celtic Knot on the Classics because of the Mica.

Peace :peace:

Edit: you will sometimes get a little stream of Vapor escaping from the bowl. It looks almost exactly like a incense stream. If you see this, stop the torch and inhale.

On my two-tone vapmans, you may get a bit of smoke from the oils heating up the first couple of times you use it. This is normal and goes away quickly after just a few uses. This does not look anything like the incense stream mentioned above though.

@vapman I thought it might be something like that, but hey since this seems to be a once in a blue moon revision and tweak, i thought now is the time to make suggestions or wait a very very very long time...

It is an honor to me when people are having thoughts about VM and trying to improve it! I like small details and debating about it, small details make the whole picture more interesting.

And yes, you are right, it could take another 11 years to find something to improve on VM. I better never say never but it gets more and more difficult to find an improvement without worsening another aspect on VM in some way. There are still lots of possibilities for many type of accessories. The station was one, the cup for aroma therapy still has to be done, I also fancy a cute little cleaning brush with a wooden handle and the logo branded on it, adapters for water tools....etc. The world is endless when looking at details.

I would love to see some engraved classics. I've held off ordering a second VM simply because I prefer the mica

I love my OM/Lotus engraved classic walnut, it's one of my "wanna keep it forever" little treasures. It has the om symbol inside a lotus flower on the body and a small 'rope' running around the bottom rim.

It's one beautiful piece from @Mojo and @vapman that's saved for what right now are those rare times I get to plug-in and use the station.

I'm glad to hear you love your tattooed classic! I really like that design too.

The tattoos are so personal though... I like it better when people order a custom tattoo, you know, pick a vapman and pick a design from the list, or send me your own.

I still have tattooed vapmans from my last run that no one has ordered, and I wonder if anyone will order one of them, even though I like the designs a lot.

If anyone wants a Tattooed Classic/Mica, Pear or Walnut, just email me from the site's contact page or PM me here.

I'm doing the custom tattoos for the same price as a tattooed vapman on inventory.

Peace.

Speaking of water tool adapters, here is one I converted from an appliance I got from DH Gate that may provide inspiration. I am very happy with it.

Here are the parts I removed from the original to accomidate the VM. The white piece in the foreground on the left is the wick and coil assembly and simply screws out leaving the positive post exposed inside the assembly. With the wick out of the way, a tooth pick or such poked thru from the bottom easily pushes the posittive terminal post out of the tube it resides in (more on this tube later) and the rubber grommet is removed in a similar manner from the top once the post is removed.

The outer diameter of the middle section of the Vapman was too large to fit in the adapter's cup but a bench grinder and wood file fixed that pretty quick (proceed at your risk if you choose to duplicate any part of this effort, my wood didn't split but yours may). Now, back to the tube that I mentioned earlier. It turns out it is the same external diameter as the white plastic moutpiece and fits tightly inside the hole in the VM middle section just as the mouth piece normally does, but it is made from thin gauge metal rather than thick plastic and has a much larger inside bore allowing much less restriction when vaping. Here's the interesting thing, the plastic mouth piece fits in the hole the wick assembly came from at the top so well the internal threads grab it and tightly secures it so it can be used without the glass if desired. In my case, it is the exact height needed to connect to the upper vapoor collection chamber and bypass the lower chamber the wick formerly resided in. So it can be used to prevent condensation of reclaim in the lower chamber, keeping it clean at the expense of tighter draw restriction. I will need to do a LOT more comparisons before I feel comfortable making a recommendation, but my initial impression is that either works great.

This is what the bottom chamber looks like after just a couple of bowls without the mouthpice connection so you can compare to the much more heavily used but clean lower chamber displyed in the first photo.

Does everyone still love their Station? Haven't seen much talk of it lately. I imagine that's because you all are just enjoying it and not needing to say anything else.. speechless perhaps? :whoa:

The other half saw the official VS1 video and declared "We gotta get ourselves one of these", so he's convinced. I'm wondering, is there is a basic usage instructions video on both Vapman and the Station? There's someone I'd love to show this to, but they live on the other side of the world from me. :(

@Choughed I'm still loving my station. When you get one I recommend getting a second vapman at the same time. I know the Aussie dollar sucks atm so it's expensive but it's worth it. 2 people can easily use the station at the same time.

It's very easy to use. Just flip the switch on the back and set the dial to 1-6. While it heats up the light will be red. When it's up to temp and idling the light will be orange. You sit the vapman on the heating rod and the light will blink orange while it thinks and heats the vapman. When the light turns green it's time to remove the vapman and hit it.

I like to start with the temperature low (around 2-3) and take a few puffs after each heat cycle. I find a fully packed bowl gives the best and longest flavour. After the flavour is gone I crank it up to 5-6 for a hit or 2 to make sure I got all the goodies. I get perfectly even dark brown abv.

Vapman Staion 1, a must have for all vapmaniacs!

How DARE you make so much sense to someone who doesn't want to spend any more money.

Does anyone else get distinctly stoned off their vapman? I haven't seen others really mention it, I mean apples to apples the vapman makes me feel differently than other vapes with the same product.

It seems to have the ability to dumb down the headier Sativa's for a more mellow buzz, certainly more so than my other vapes. So what's up? Is it just me?

I think for one it's the pure conduction, something we aren't used to, boiling off the thc at a different rate, in a different style? Like eating a convection baked meal as opposed to one off the stove, tastes different.
I think it's also the process of getting through a sesh. Smaller hits mean it's easier for the lungs to absorb, also less likely to exhale sooner due to a need to cough (although sometimes the vapman gets me there if I'm not careful ;)).
Also the fact that we have more air to vape ratio in our lungs than if you were to rip the evo or lsv. Probably helps the thc move around a bit and get absorbed throughout the lungs.

Not sure how any of these relate to a different stone, but...they're all differences from the other vapes I use, and I imagine those differences will help explain the different stone.

I've noticed conduction vapes, my Air included, despite being a hybrid, gives me something my friends and I call "the box stone". We "box" is in regards to the mflb, a vape we treasured for quite a while. It had such a distinct stone to it compared to smoking and compared to my friend's Nano, that it got it's own type of high, the box. I've come to realize, other vapes have a similar signature, which differs in potency. My Arizer Air would get me super box stoned (super, as in, more so than the mflb itself, but with the same signature), but is nothing compared to the Nano stone that my roommate and I grew to love.

The vapman definitely has that box signature, just more potent. Something all my "box stone" vapes have in common is the long drawn out 10-20 minute seshes compared to the instant gratification of hitting a log or an lsv or an evo, etc.

I'd definitely say the conduction and extraction level have to do with it but even a vapcap doesn't offer the same buzz to me and its (in my red squinty eyes) awfully derivative in use. MFLB is probably the most similar in feeling I've personally used. Certainly more so than my solo or PRC conduction units.

Its weird man, I like it but its weird!

Damn 10-20 min vapman seshes?! If I load a bowl stuffed I generally blow through it in 3-5 minutes unless I'm already sufficiently medicated. I usually load 1/2 a pan and take 2-3 large hits, cash it and follow it up with a stuffed pan I "sip" on a little more leisurely. I guess it all depends on your torch technique, but I don't consider the VM a session unit personally.

Lol yeah, my first 3-5 hits or so are just flavor rips with no vapor, then I up it a bit to start getting little vapor.
I get like 10 hits or so out of it.

I'm not good yet at getting big hits and keeping the flavor there, so I just do what feels like it's working, haha. I've read pretty much nothing about technique, I just wing it. I heat for 4, stop, heat for 4, hit. That's just for the first rip from cold. Subsequent hits are 4-5 second heats depending on how long it was since my last hit. I hold the torch so the tip of the bright blue part is touching the "apex" of the heater on the back, and I just leave it there for the desired length of time I want. The flame is pretty small, smaller than what I use for my Lotus, but the same torch (zico).

Hate to sound like a broken record but check out @WakeAndVape videos. His technique is spot on! I typically heat for 4 seconds stop ~2 heat 4 stop ~2 heat 3-4 on the first hit and two small 4 sec intermittent blasts for subsequent hits. I hold the torch as you do, flames around 3/4" long.

Once you master the more standard technique the world is your oyster, I can clear pans in 8-9 puffs or 3-4 rips depending on how I'm feeling. I really like stringing quick partial pans since you get that terpy "ping" of the first hit each go. There is no wrong way, that's why I really enjoy the versatility of the vapman. I recall some folks mentioning it seems to keep getting better and it really seems to as you hone your technique. ~6 months in and I enjoy mine more and more everyday.

Consistency seems to be the key word for me. Somedays I'm spot on where every just goes perfectly -but then the next time I come back after a few days not using Vapman, it's like I never learned a thing.

On average, how fast or slow do some of you draw to clear a pan?

For me I've realized it depends on the strain. Some strains I've had, if I pull too fast, only the bottom will cook. For others, I can draw really hard and get a nice even vape throughout.

In the end, drawing slower will yield the most consistent results I believe.

I don't factor in draw speed in my vapor production equation...to me it just determines how long of a hit you'll get (drinking a cup of water fast vs drinking it slow)

As far as getting good performance out of the unit...if I feel I am not getting good enough hits, I rely on the holes on the midsection to tell me how thick the vapor in the pan below is.

But then again for vaping I never do a super heavy draws except when I'm doing challenge hits with the mighty.

@nondarb weather I am directly blasting the apex of the pan or making the flame circle from the apex outward to the edge of the pan, the vapman is like art everytime...no two bowls are ever the same and I treat my approach to torching the same way...it's like a small grill where I cook everything to perfection.

I found the same, I had to re-learn a bit from one herb to the other. It all makes a difference. Grind size is as fine as my plastic grinder will get me, loose pack, more heat and a long slow unrestricted draw are the things that help.. I get pretty medicated with 3 or 4 hits in a row, then I'm done - staring off into the distance holding the Vapman and torch for what feels like 10 minutes before remembering and putting them down. Most of the time, the herb is still green at that stage.

Sharing Vapman makes it take much longer than 3 or 4 hits, I can't explain why.. @Nugg, I absolutely will get a basic with the station! One for each person, he's going to love it! He prefers it when I heat it for him, so it'll be much less work for me, too. ;)

I'm curious about the difference between Vapman and other vapes, but I can't afford VAS. I'll just take everyone else's word for it and be happy with the Vapman.. and Station some day.. Wait, that's how VAS starts, isn't it!? lol

what if you get particles in the holes. Is there a way to torch those out or clear it out or something? I don't want any airflow impeded if stuff builds up, I imagine some crumbs had to have gotten through.

Under the screen? I unscrew the screen from the middle section and clean it with iso, and scrape off the stuff on the wood with a cotton bud (q-tip?). Screw it back together again but unscrew the screws 1/2 a turn to keep it loose a little.

Ah, I meant the holes in the bottom of the pan, the holes that lead outside to the intake. I imagine some tiny pieces may have dropped in there at some point...lot of bowls have gone through Wallie so far. He's a trooper.
