How did you do this, if you don't mind me asking?

I use the old technique for gold frame : gold leaf and glue. True gold looks better than paint, and it'snt expensive (9€).
I tried first to put it inside to protect wood from lighter, instead of mica, but it failed (i used a piece of wood to test, it burns less, but it burns...)

Can't wait my 50 wedding anniversary, i divorced after 10 years...

Due to the great echo around the station, we are temporarily sold out and we are in the process of making more stations.

Something tells me all the feedback @vapman have been getting from this place amongst others will inspire some new add ons for the Vapman when the heating stations are shipped and taken care off Remember what a change even the simple idea of concentrate screens was! Yesterday I saw a Vapefiend video where he showed GoBoof's new concentrates screens for the Alpha. Now, I'm not accusing anyone of stealing ideas. That's not how progress and innovation works. The Alpha has a heating pin, and adding a screen for concentrates just makes sense. I'm merely pointing out that René has a knack for finding solutions that are brilliant in their simplicity. His one of those guys who make you go "gaaah, why didn't I think of that?!"

And also, Vapman is a European company, and this whole glass culture isn't as wide spread here as in the US and Canada, so honestly I don't think René was aware of the demand for WonGs etc untill recently.

But I'm no mindreader, so René will probably answer all these questions himself when he has time. Or just pop up with an amazing product that answers all our questions.

I went quickly through the last posts and there are in fact some good ideas, especially the ones concerning a blank middle section giving the option of making his own adaption to any kind of mouthpiece or water tool. What about a middle section with two or three steps of different diameters to fit on a vriety of bubblers? I am just thinking loud but have not really put my mind seriously on it.

Some of the posts are just unbelievable, the one with the Tabasco sauce bottle, for instance!

This thread is one big source of inspiration, it does not seem to end. Great!

I think this has been done before by @Ratchett and probably a few more and it's a damn fine idea for sure. It could be also used as a dry mouthpiece if the end part fits nicely to the lips! I believe it should also have a slightly larger ID than the current POM mouthpieces which concentrate the flow of vapor too much and it makes it not so comfortable to the tongue. The addition of some silicone tubing does the trick for me and opens the vapor flow enough to make it comfortable and of course cooler but it would be nice to have a smaller mouthpiece that does the same… Maybe with a couple of twists like the Crafty's cooling unit to smooth it down even more?

White glue (casein from milk) is ok for this, and You don't need a lot !

@vapman so excited to hear that the heating stations have shipped!

@VegNVape If you can collect some sap (hard and solid is ok) from a pine/cedar/fir/conifer tree, that can be diluted/dissolved with alcohol or some other spirit and used as a natural and safe adhesive for some uses.

I love the frosted clear. I lose things so like important stuff to be colorful, so black is out, but I do think it is also very nice.

Could a marbled effect be done with semi-mixed polymers when these are molded? I would love that!

If you check the VM website, you will see that the VM lighter was a mere $3 USD... and, no, there is no warranty on it. If it worked at all when you got it, it works, and that's that. (mine didn't, hubby fixed it, so have been on this road with VM before)

Similar ones are generally available for less than $5 at local convenience stores...

Generally piezo igniters are pretty fool proof in terms of generating a spark from the mechanical energy (as long as the crystal isn't broken physically which it seldom is), the issue is the spark is weak or misdirected. Soot and other contamination on the ceramic insulator is usually the culprit, sometimes the electrode is bent out of position by mishap. This makes the spark weak or erratic.....or both. Careful cleaning (I use a toothpick with a bit of cotton twisted on the end, like a tiny q-tip) with a bit of ISO can usually clear the contamination, be careful not to snag the electrode or at least return it to the right spot.

You can easily test it by gently blowing into the mouth of the monster while you click it and watch. The extra air going 'the wrong way' will make the mix too lean to light off with the spark.

Otherwise, they do wear out. After bringing a sufficient amount of joy and happiness into your life perhaps it's time for retirement?

I have to agree it would be nice to see a pink or purple one too that could double as a sextoy look alike, a marbled version would be nice simply for aesthetics, and a flat plastic box or wooden box option where you lie the pieces flat would be useful for pocketing. I bet @Ratchett could design a flat box storage case for the Vapman.

Dan over at the Okin thread makes the box for his vape out of waxed kraft paper. it looks pretty sturdy and performed good during his camping trip. i think, that might be the way to go. i love the egg/sputnik and probably will get one of the new colors or even both(PAS never has been so cheap ) but i'd like to have a flat case for the vapman. it also would make it easier to carry the mflb stems along with the vapman.

Guys! Come on! Vapman already has a flat case and a very nice one indeed! The lighter's pouch! And it fits much nicer in a pocket than a square box, I am pretty sure of that. Some might say that it doesn't protect but vapman doesn't need ANY protection when it's disassembled… It's a tank!

I always use the pouch when I don't care to carry my vapman loaded. The pouch in one pocket, The lighter in another and the herbs as well concealed as possible!

@Enchantre I've learned in my metalworking classes that the best quality professional torch lighters are made by Blazer. They are the original inventor of these micro torches and their lighters are made in Japan to a much higher standard than the semi-disposable type. Their original model invented in the 80's is still in production just as it was first designed.

The quality is reflected in the price, as you will spend $30-60 instead of $5-15. I've bought too many of those $10 ones, that I'm just going to buy a new Blazer and be done with it.

I have two larger ones that I bought for my jewelrymaking work, and have been poring over their website to determine which one is going to be my ultimate Vapman torch.

I'm ordering this one as a smaller unit for small repairs/soldering. I suspect that it is a large canister version of a smaller torch, but it might be a bit overkill for the Vapman. But I have a use for it anyway.

Blazer lighters are good for sure, I own a couple now and have had others in the past. The did not, however, 'invent' piezo ignition torch type pocket lighters in 1980. I bought an earlier one about 1970 from a different maker. It was made along then conventional lines, like a Ronson of the day (square metal box, button on top, fire out of the corner). Lots of makers jumped on board with both torch and candle flame versions of 'flintless' lighters. By 1975 perhaps a dozen models were available.

I have a Stratus, and a nice unit it is. But it's kind of awkward to use, doesn't hold much fuel and lacks a window so you can easily get caught out running out of fire mid session. This is the voice of experience..... Vapman uses a lot of gas for even a single session. You can light a bunch of cigarettes with that much gas.

They are smaller than the photo suggests (must be tiny hands?), they're about 3 1/2 inches tall but hold a lot of fuel. Very robust, I've used them for years now, have several spread around inside and out for handy use. So far the only failure is a lock broke on one, you can't lock off the gas with the side 'switch'. The striker lock (around the shaft) still works fine.

$3 shipped to the US. I suggest everyone consider ordering a couple? Small loss if it's not for you.

Yes i believe there is a post by @vapman earlier in the thread saying he tried many many lighters ( some costing over £100) and they are all essentially the same piezo. I think the reason he uses his model is its decent quality and has a big gas tank.

Paying yesterday might delay it a bit, but it's my understanding when we got the email with instructions for paying and did so our end is done. They just got shipped (without individual notices), and hopefully yours and mine are both on the way.
