Vapman

I'm not here for a long time, but for a good time
with all these disparities in function of the new stations I wonder if some of the power supplies aren't faulty.

Running the leds and motherboard ask for the right tension but very few intensity. While the resistor probably don't care much about the exact tension as long as it has enough intensity to heat up.

If some of the power supplies aren't keeping up with intensity that could explain a few things. All the stations are tested before being sent but probably all on the same power supply. The power supply sent with the stations are new and sealed if I remember well ?

And the Swiss station power supply was a fair chunk bigger than the Italian one. These kind of components don't always like being downsized...

FWIW, I am using the new stations power cord on both Italian version and the Swiss version with no issue.

Is more than one vapman called vapmen?

If so for my first vapman I purchased two vapmen 😂

Scored two new Italian v1 classics. One olive and one apple. I’m so excited.
where did you find that apple? out of curiosity...

and to my fellow friends here: i can't / won't / don't buy another one this month :D

So are we still waiting to hear the release date for XL? Or did I miss it somewhere?
release is on december 1st. so we are waiting with you :) i definitely need another one (or two) :D

Oh wow I've been gone for a couple days and so much has happened. This updated Vapman looks pretty damn intriguing, and I'm excited for a 2.0 POM mouthpiece. A couple quick questions for the beta-testers:

Is the bottom of the inside of the pan still gold-plated copper? From the images I've seen it sort of seems like a different material from the rest of the pan. Or is that part of the super secret feature that's yet to be revealed?

Any noticeable differences in the vape signature? Seems like there could be some differences to the heating profile, so curious if that translates to any noticeable difference in the effects.

Lastly – I'm a microdoser and really have no interest in a larger bowl. It seems like this new bowl is still extremely flexible for microdosing, but has anyone found any use cases where the OG pan is better? Similarly, are there any ways that the new pan is a clear upgrade over the old pan other than the size, or that isn't tied to the size increase (For example, I read that the flavor lasts longer – is that just a consequence of more herb, or would the flavor still last longer if using the same dose)?

Thanks guys! Really keen to hear your thoughts. Much love.

You are right on that one ;) But it should be revealed soon :D

Since the bowl is larger, the volume is different and the quantity of material you can put in there changes a bit aswell, so that summed up does change a little the whole profil. But hard to tell if the change in effect is because of the new design, or just more herb :brow:

It is still very good at microdosing :) from what some say, OG could be better for hash with the sieve, but I have been trying it, and it is very enjoyable in the new VM too

Finally, we fully_professional_beta_test_pilots :D can report on how the new model vapes.

The test model is untreated, raw, beautiful cherry wood, the insides are lasered black pre char burn in, the middle piece is with cooled air path, easy to clean, the mouthpiece as usual in POM with cooling coil.
The funnel was not included with the prototype test model, as both the OG and the 2.0 fit.

In short:
I'm delighted with both the new middle section and, of course, the new, large pan!
I also have the impression that it has twice the volume of the Vapman OG or 2.0.

The pan after use, the normal brush is almost a bit too short, it's so deep.

The lower side with the black lasered pre char burn in protective layer.

The aroma has logically become a little stronger with the larger quantity, as has the effect!
It blows my mind every time I fill the pan completely. A bit too much for me, so I don't fill the pan completely, so microdosing is still possible without any problems.
But many others will really like the higher dose!

In comparison, on the left the new Vapman, on the right an OG Swiss.
The doses have been filled very loosely, unpressed.

The operation is not really any different from the other Vapman models, I think it has even become a lot easier.

It takes a little longer on the station, as the modified pan shape is not tapered, there is less contact surface. But you can definitely use it, the Vapman has the same shape and dimensions. However, the Jet is quicker and feels very comfortable.

The AVB roasted evenly after 4-5 light heating cycles, despite less stirring.

Hash and extracts also work, the INOX sieve fits in very well.
In my opinion, however, the Vapman OG and the 2.0 are a little more suitable, as the pan is quite large.

I am literally flashed by the new details of the middle section!
The air supply setting is a dream, the cooling works very well (more pronounced aroma!), cleaning is super easy without a screwdriver, the wood remains protected.

And this increases the lifespan even further, I'd be bold and say that if it's handled with some care and a little maintenance, it will last for several generations!

Quickly ready for cleaning!

Microdosing, same quantity as in the Vapman OG looks like this in the new Vapman:

The guys have done a great job with all the new developments, I've been using the Vapman for over a decade now, I didn't think so many improvements were possible!!!
Thank you very much, @David and @Michael !

I really like that they finally released a Vapman with bigger bowl. POM+cooling spiral also seems like a big upgrade over just metal. Wondering if old WPA and MPs will fit the new midsection?

If my crappy station is fixed/replaced by then I will probably buy one...

As much as I want to talk about the new beta model I can't help but show the ever growing collection of exotic original Vapmans. All of these were purchased directly from René with the exception of the American walnut that's second from the left in the front row which was from another member of the community and the start of the collection.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail make these little devices a pleasure to handle and display.

Hoping you guys are all stoked for the new improvements that Inhale has in store for this amazing piece of tech!

The old WPAs will indeed fit, but the mouthpieces aren't long enough to cover the slot. Neither is the glass stem.
If my crappy station is fixed/replaced by then I will probably buy one...
Plenty of reasons to have both!

Anyone else have shiny particles of mica on fingers after using Vapman 2.0?

Can they be inhaled through the pipes in the bowl?

Is it normal for mica to flake off so easy?

I barely used it three, four bowls...did not touch the mica.

A little linseed oil brushed on the edges can help stabilize it if your layers are “delaminating” (the mica flakes are pressed into sheets), but others have noted that, in use, reclaim from vapor back-flow will eventually form a sealing coat of its own.

Basically, you need to use it more. 😉

From the inventor:
The mica should not be touched or cleaned at all, oils dripping on the mica is not a problem.
We actually apply our linseed oil on the edges of the mica layers, this seals the edges and prevents little pieces from coming off. The worst thing you can do to mica is to try cleaning it with water or some solvents, just leave it and it will be fine for ever!

i want to add that this is nearly impossible... IF there are some tiny flakes that MIGHT go through the pipes your material in the pan will work like a "filter" and catches em before they are even possibly travelling to the middle section. no worries.

That is hard to believe. I’m not doubting it. I’m just amazed. You wouldn’t believe what I paid for the pair. Now, I don’t have it in possession yet but they are paid for and I have tracking saying Tuesday delivery 😍

I can’t wait to share pics and learn the device. I’ll be sure to use the olive and NOT the apple.

You aren’t making the wait any easier 🤣
