Vapman

I am looking to get a Vapman click, but am deaf. Wondering if anyone knows if I would be able to feel the click.
You should be able to, yes! There's a subtle but definitely noticeable vibration when it clicks. In my experience, the click disk usually double clicks in rapid succession, with the second click being much stronger.

Not disagreeing with @borbjorbis but I just wanted to say that the vibration is honestly too subtle to be reliable for me personally. I've tried using my VM Click with headphones on, but the results were either paranoia or a wasted bowl.

However, I'm sure you could find a technique that would make it easier to pick up, especially if you learn the manual timing as a backup. And isn't it true that people who are blind or deaf often get enhancements to their other senses as a way for the brain to restore balance? Sorry if I'm making assumptions but maybe you wouldn't have any problems at all.

Or you could even ask @David and Michael if they can make the vibration louder for you. I believe they mentioned in a Q&A that they trialed quite a few different clicks before settling on this one. And they come across as really empathetic people, so might be worth a shot. Their email is info@nowinhale.com if you want to try that route.

I feel no vibration in the wood when the click discs fire. Perhaps you could train yourself to hold some specific part of the vapman while also keeping away from the heat. I would think you would want a hearie to identify the click if you were trying to do this.

I also think it's very easy to use the vapman without the click discs by testing and counting. I find a good technique more reliable than the indicators anyway. So you won't be out anything if you can't work with the click discs.

Greetings, please accept my humble opinion on this....

You can hear it if you are related to SUPERMAN. I am over 65 years old...so, I do not hear SHIT. Also, feel it???? My heart beats louder than the click so, I would say that is if you have ultra-sensitive skin. The best way for me is still counting. The CLICK has a different count. Longer.

...and that is why I use the STATION. That is why we also need the STATION to work with the CLICKS....because it would be easier for someone like me.

personally, I feel the vibration of the Force... uh... the vibration of the click!

I'm sure that someone who has learned to use their other senses better than the hearing ones... will also feel the click.

good luck!

I did send an email to the site, prior to this to explain my situation and was told I would be best with the click. So placed on order for it, so hopefully works out.

Was thinking I could maybe get partner to help me learn the timings if I can't feel it. I could feel the click for the dynavap I had years ago.

So if i file a bit off, and it fits, you don't expect any other risks ?
I don't see any reason for doing this, why not just take it out? It's not made to fit and it would serve no purpose even if you would somehow be able to force it in.

ikr? I don't even use one in the first place! ; )

I think having the funnel stay with the base would concentrate heat everywhere below it, probably changing the heating characteristics significantly, probably for the worse but who knows?
There is no reason to do that. If Michael and David or Rene wanted the funnel to stay in there...they would have already done it in the design of it. It is just not supposed to be in there. Are you pulling our legs???? This is a joke right???? LOL Ok...well, if its not a joke...don't leave the funnel in...it does not fit when you put the other part on it....simple as that.

stupid question
I just repeated what he wrote because he was right.
aren't you overdoing it a bit with the correctness?
I deeply apologize if I offended anyone...

that's strange, I'd put my hand in the fire, that he originally wrote "stupid question" and now it's not there anymore....
that looks like big brother ....

I would give the admin a warning point that he is erasing and changing the meaning of the discussion.
the fear that we are so stupid and cannot read between the lines shocks me.
moreover, in Czech the word stupid does not sound vulgar and we also have a fairy tale "stupid honza" where honza is the hero, he gets the princess and half the kingdom to go with it.

I checked on the history of the post and you are correct, he initially wrote "stupid question" in self-deprication. But by the time I read the post he removed the "stupid" part, putting your post in a very different light to the reader.

I've removed the warning point as I now see that it was a mere misunderstanding.

Apologies for the confusion.
