@WakeAndVape used one, I believe:
I'm occasionally terrified by the level of recall displayed by some of the folks round here. (Or perhaps they've just mastered the art of the search function which I continue to find baffling). Anyway, here's to everyone on FC whose short term memory is not yet shot to ribbons

i am still not satisfied with the mica part and the wood condition at the spring edges but i am hesitant to get more aggressive on that part due to the possibility of the mica getting damaged. what do you think? any advice to give it a little more of its beauty back?
If your aim is to get the rare Element Vapman as good as possible again, then René could probably be the best person to help.

He has the molds for the micas, the springs are no problem and he could also insert the heat protection ring in the middlepiece so that the part lasts longer. The pan still seems to be in good shape.

Everyone knows how great the vapman is with traditional hash, but one thing I only recently realized is how convenient the Vapman with hash can be.

You get way more hits out of a bowl of hash than flower or concentrates, so these days I just load up a sieve of hash, pack the vapman in the egg, bring a torch, and I'm good to go anywhere. Whenever I need a hit, I don't have to bother with loading the bowl or anything; just heat and hit. If you're like me and have a low tolerance / prefer microdosing, a sieve of hash can keep me satisfied the whole day. This is the closest I've gotten to the convenience of carts.

I have a question.

Will the 2.0 Vapman (olive) that is currently scheduled for arrival next Wednesday be compatible with any/all of the Vapman heaters?

Are there issues? Or no worries?

Do you Vapmanistas prefer the ritual and vapor quality of butane or Vapman heater? And, why so?

Support the guys, buy the italian, it is a little upgrade from the OG swiss version. The swiss is always nice for us collectors, but my go to travel Vapman is an italian.

Great. I think the olive is very beautiful, so that's easy.
Easy ? I wouldn’t be so sure ;) we all started here with that first, easy  I can see a new VM forest coming up:D

So much passion, love and solid advice for the vapman.....
So true !!

Your new VM should be compatible with any of the Station, normally no issue, but some people have hard a hard time with the alignement of the heater and / or heating issues.

As far as butane / station is concerned, I think the butane has the ‘organic’ part of it, ritual and all, but with the station you can have more control and precision on the heating, and less noise. Maybe start with the lighter and see how you like it before considering the station, which is a little investment.

In any case, welcome and enjoy

I don't own a heater, but I understand they work extremely well with both 1.0 and 2.0 devices. A couple of folks in here reported some issues with how their devices sat in the heater, and that that impaired performance, but I think they all got sorted with a bit of fiddling.

What you're getting with the heater is rock solid repeatability. Tune it in, like your TM2, and you're away. I don't own or drive a car, but I understand it's like an automatic versus stick shift thing.

Whether or not the vapour signature is much different.. I have always assumed analogue methods make it easier to temp step, but that's probably not true now I think about it. I'm sure others will offer their views.

It'll take quite a lot to convince me about electronic heating methods. For a long time I thought Dynavaps were crap because of my crappy Dynavap induction heater - and I only realised their true potential with a lighter that cost 98% less than my induction heater. I know where I am with a flame, but then again, I don't have hand tremor, gripping challenges or difficulties operating a lighter (yet). Best of luck whatever you decide.

Thanks!

I do intend to use my Vapman with a torch initially. I'm just wondering.

Perhaps a gently used one come up one day, wasn't sure about the pro/cons?

Seems fun as a butane device, but in some weeks I'll be residing in a "active senior retirement community," good lord, so I'm willing to scare my new friends and neighbors a little bit, but having non-scary options wouldn't be bad.

Yes.

Generally no worries. However, there have been some recent reports of people having issues with the new version. Hard to tell how widespread these are though, happy buyers are often quiet buyers. :)

Subjectively I prefer the ritual with a torch, while I'd say that the overall quality is objectively better with a heating station.
And, why so?
Pretty much like @Electrofever wrote; one is done by feel (like an instrument), the other is more exact and replicable. You're going to have to decide for yourself what you're looking for.

Vapman has a steampunk edge. Electronics may come across a bit more Sonic Screwdriver-y. I guess it depends if you're cultivating a Jules Verne or Dr Who first impression

No worries. They fit, they work great. They station is definitely worth it. It's got a different ritual, but the pacing and so forth are similar. I use mine about 60/40 and don't really lose interest in either method. I think what could be nice for you is that it really simplifies the Vapman's use for inexperienced users, making it a fantastic tea time vape. Your friends will be able to use the Vapman perfectly with no experience, and it's easy to regulate dosage so it doesn't get overwhelming for anyone.

Also, the factory seconds are apparently excellent.

The nice problem to have is that I find myself drawn to both methods of using a Vapman.

I will use butane at first. I look forward to mastering the use of the torch. Will need to score some hash, methinks.

Seems "contemplative."

The station will go into "consideration mode" for the moment.

But, assuming I love the Vapman as much as I expect to, it could be a nice addition for situations where I have guests over. "Normals."

I hope my pad will be filled with people, and that I build a rich social life for myself.

Having a "classy aspect" is preferable to looking like I live in a crack-den. LOL

Dangerous. But not "too dangerous." LOL

But what about the Phase3 ZX ball-vape you have on order, Bill???!!!

The USPS tracker says I should expect delivery of my Vapman 2.0 on Wednesday.

I think/hope USPS will "overperform" getting it from GA to Los Angeles.

Inshallah.

I can envision the experience already.

I know it's off topic - but it makes me really sad when we drug users internalise the judgement of others.

We're all of us here (at FC) to either party, escape or medicate. Setting up hierarchies of use/misuse is usually an anxiety that non users might make a category error and assign us to the wrong group.

As far as I can tell, although some of us are berks, the majority of us are wankers looking for answers to our personal difficulties - and occasionally looking in the wrong metaphorical and actual places.

I happen to live next door to a property where many previous residents have clearly had ready access to substances that are not my idea of fun. Mostly their usage, preferred dosage (and inability to prevent their fun from spilling over into the wider neighbourhood) has caused them difficulties - including many unwanted and unbidden conversations with Plod.

The people living/ visiting have mostly been single folks, often with anger management issues, with apparently understanding employers, and difficulties holding down relationships. A minority have been egregiously racist.

Imo freaks like us have a duty to show compassion and understanding to freaks like them, because we're ultimately freaks together. Some of us are just not as good at drawing the blinds as well as others.

Anyway, I'm not trying to picking a fight with you Bill, or with anyone else on here. You said something that made me stop and pause for thought, and I wanted to share my pov that we don't have to accept the judgement of others of us, or of others like us who are struggling to hold it together.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I hope FC can be a place where we inspire more than just consumption.

Peace out folks.

After a very fun return to the Vapman last night, I had to pick up a station.

When it was first re-released it was too expensive for me, but a factory 2nd option + seasonal discount is a great deal. Big ups to Michael and David for that! I can't wait to have it in hand.

Sharing for the first time my Vapman collection before the OG ones are put on sale later tonight. Green Heart and Grenadill purchased from the creator, Pear and Walnut ones are from the last OG Swiss on the inhale site back then. All Classic except the Pear one. I am getting old and will start letting go, with some sad feelings, some of my devices that i don’t use often. I am keeping the Italian made olive wood and Kotibe ones which I use with both torch and the station - I prefer torch.
