By the way, I read a while back that some people were leaving the vapman in the Station a bit after the LED turned green to get it a bit hotter... I wonder why they don't crank up the temp dial a bit instead - by half or a full number? I like the idiot-proofness of just setting it and waiting for the green light to come on.
There is a subtle difference between cranking up the station to a higher level and leaving vapman on the station for a bit longer. Of course the station can be used to anyones liking, no problem nor any risk with that.
In order to explain the difference, I try to explain what happens when placing vapman on to the station.
As @Nugg already said, regardless of the dial setting, the station always works with the same temperature!
As soon vapman is placed on the station, the yellow light starts to blink and the heater is turned off for 3.8 seconds in order to measure the cooling down of the docking part. After that, the station "knows" the approximate temperature of vapman when placed on the station. This is needed because a cold vapman has to be heated up longer than a already warm vapman. Anyway, after the 3.8 seconds of measuring, the heater is turned on again until the green light comes on. Green light means, the heater is turned off and vapman is more or less as hot as chosen with the dial. Now, if someone leaves vapman on the station after the green light, vapman still gets hotter because of the stored heat of the docking part, meaning that the docking part cools down and vapman heats up until the stored heat is used up and both parts start to cool down together. Now comes the point where the frog jumps in to the water ( german saying): because the docking part cools down after leaving vapman on the station, it takes longer for the station to get back up to working temperature after vapman has been removed, indicated by the red light. This is a problem when two people are sharing the station, in that case it is advisable to crank up the dial instead of leaving vapman after the green light.
Long story short; when vapman is left on the station after the green light, it takes the station longer (red light) to get back to the standby mode (yellow light)!
BTW, the blinking interval of the yellow light is identical at all settings for the first 3.8 seconds and shorter or longer during the heating mode(untill the green light). The higher the setting the slower the blinking.
This all sounds a bit complicated but everyone using the station knows, that it isn't. In fact, the station can be used in many ways, the green light can even be completely desregarded as someone already posted but I think it helps to know how the station ticks.
All the best to everyone and lets hope, we still will be a growing and happy vapman-family in 2016!
