I placed my order and dig the changes! It definitely looks bigger but it also looks safer. I think this could be one of the safest heavies on the market with competition from just a few. The stability improvements are welcome and better support medical use.
I understand wanting more but from a performance standpoint it's hard to improve the EVO so it really comes down to features and usability enhancements. Being able to keep assembly and quality control in the United States says a lot about their values and should be considered in the cost. I know not everyone is willing to pay for that but I sure am.
The new CEO, Ricardo, seems very genuine and I have always had love for Vapexhale so it was an easy decision for me to support.
Introducing the Petra:
Yes I'd think it's been in development longer or he would not be able to demo that very expensive prototype. We all know there is a lot that goes into these decisions behind the scenes and my guess is some compromises needed to be made in order to launch anything at all. If you are a current EVO owner you probably aren't going to spring unless you are an avid collector like me and want to support. However if you are in the market for a heavy this looks like it could be a fine consideration. At around 10-15 seconds in, Ricardo says "...this is a great device that we decided that we wanted to make a few months ago".
I would like to think there was a fuckton of R&D carried out prior to this & it was actually only the public release which they decided to go ahead with a few months ago . . . .
I haven't been tuned in lately.Couldn't agree more......the Petra seems like nothing more than the EVOs better looking brother. Can't really tell right? Can still buy an EVO though.
Not long ago I received a couple emails regarding some type of business/lifestyle "coaching" from Seibo Shen that I never signed up for and immediately unsubscribed from.
Just to be clear....I love my EVO and respect Seibo for what he has accomplished but I never had the urge to get anything Hanu, wasn't interested in any coaching and without more info I don't get "why" the Petra.
I haven't been tuned in lately.
Is Seibo still involved with Hanu/VXL? Or did he sell the company?
The Petra is the beginning of the next generation of Hanu Labs (Vapexhale) technology . . . I'm going to ask for your help with the final push! We need your help!
A presale of 500 units will ensure we can get the product released in December. There are a lot of costs associated with a device release . . . We need this final push to make it happen now!
It will happen one day, but looking at the current step up in pricing for minor "improvements" it would probably double the price ...That thing looks redonkulous ... It would be nice if they thought about using digital temp for real temp control ...
Cleaning the EVO wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world either which prompted me to be a little impatient in the method but I digress. I am hoping that the Petra will be much more straight forward to clean because no matter how small of a glob I'd put in the EVO and used the cleaning method after every hit it would always eventually get clogged to the point of virtually no airflow.Looks like I’m late to the party. I’m interested in seeing the new model once produced.
Incidentally “ticker” unit #49 is still running strong. Both my fanatic and standard evos quit working long ago.

I'm having a hard time understanding why you would need to do that??? the evo unit requires no maintenance, only the baskets and concentrate nails need attention. your not putting dabs in the bamboo without a nail are you?About a month ago I shattered the bamboo stem in my cloud EVO by pouring ISO in it when it was still hot
Neither, and multiple have also had this issue. Run off occurs inside the bamboo stem with heavy use.I'm having a hard time understanding why you would need to do that??? the evo unit requires no maintenance, only the baskets and concentrate nails need attention. your not putting dabs in the bamboo without a nail are you?
