I'd look for something conductive. You'd like to reinforce the connection, not just the joint.
So your saying conductive that way if the connection gives out, there would still be a gob of something over the wire making a connection?

Idk something conductive that can stand 1000+c is going to be kinda tricky

EDIT: "Not just the joint" did you think I meant to use this on the glass joint? Is that a point of failure as well?

The PELCO High Temperature Carbon Paste and High Performance Nickel Paste on this page look promising. They resist temps of up to 3632 F and 1000 F, respectively, and are both conductive. It says the Carbon paste has a conductivity of 4.6 ohm/square/mil though, and I have no idea what that means so I'm not sure if that's good enough for this. Does anyone else know?

Nope, I meant the solder joint. Could be the wrong terminology.

Alittle help please guys. So I bought one of the ebay clouds and based on what everyone else is saying it likely wont have the ELB's. I have some on order from vapornation but they are backordered and honestly who knows when it will ship (they told me sometime in dec. lol). I read about making mini elb's and was wondering if I can make one with two EQ dome bowls instead of using the cloud ELB cap? What is the difference between mini elb and regular? More even roasting of small bowls?

Is VXL still out of stock? I bought some from them and got them in 1 day last week.

Never had uneven ABV from an elb myself. You might get a slightly denser hit from a mini elb, since the herb is more packed. I haven't used one yet, so I hesitate to comment.

Possibly, but the Arizer screens are slightly larger, so you'd have more work to do in shaping the two so they'd fit together. Even then, I'm not sure how well it would work.

They have them. You'll pay $20 + shipping though. Vapornation gives members 11% off w/code FC11, and has free shipping, so the delivered price is $17.79 for a 4 pack. They're still waiting to be restocked, although I don't know why. VXL has had 'em back in stock for a couple of weeks now I think. Maybe the supply is limited at the moment and they want availability for retail buyers.

Doubtful, at least not easily. The inside screen needs to be flattened. That makes it even larger. Unless you could crimp the flattened screen to make it smaller, this won't work.

The original 2-cap method was using 2 ELB's caps, no flattening, just pressing one part of the way into the other which remains on the ELB bowl section. That was just OK. IME the Q/ELB cap method sans the ELB bowl hits much better.

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
I use a mini-ELB made from 2 EQ screens.
It's not the easiest thing to do, nor is it the most elegant in usage.
You have to smush one screen down to fit the other.
It's a matter of smushing + pushing the screen up into the center of the rim of the screen.
Once you get it to fit then you need to roll the bent screen part back a little to try to create
a sort of lip that will allow the cap to press fit into the bottom screen. Otherwise it will just fall right off when inverted. Mine still falls off occasionally... little bastard of a thing.
Takes trial and error... lots of error :D

Thanks everyone for the wonderful advise. I think I will wait and see if it comes with ELBs if not I'll either buy some stainless steel mesh or a stainless sink basket and modify it while waiting. I will only use it with a hydrotube so no inverting

Can someone please explain how to tell, and what is the difference between a "OG-ticker" and a cloud plus? Has anyone purchased(received) the cloud plus's on ebay yet? TIA for your help, I really want to try the Cloud, but live in a very rural area, my only option to try one is to buy one!

OG Tickers are fairly rare now, they are called tickers because of the noise the relay makes as it switches the element on and off. Even though the Cloud+'s are silent (and majority of what is currently available) a lot of people prefer the OG's either out of a perceived sense of reliability or just simply because they've come to expect the ticking noise as an indication it's on and ready.

Yes. Quite a few. Have you looked at the thread? If you're interested in the cheap unit off eBay, then that's the thread to read.

If I were new to the Cloud I'd be in the same situation, and I live in a city of 400,000+. You don't have to live in the boonies to be in a vapor wasteland. :\
