Hey guys! I am about to buy an older ticker model that is USED and I had a question about repairs.

If the VXC breaks on me in the future, will I be able to send it in for repairs? I am concerned that if I get it and something goes wrong I'll be outta luck. I know the warranty won't be valid, but is it possible to repair it for a fee?

Thanks!

That is going to depend upon parts availability, which could be hit or miss, more likely miss, as I understand the situation right now.

Hmm now this has got me thinking. Does it sound like a good idea to you to purchase a ticker used? It's a good deal but I would really like to hear what a person with experience of VXH products has to say.

I was going to just buy an evo until I had this opportunity and the fact that it would save me a few hundred is very appealing.

It seems that the wemo won't be necessary with the evo as it is supposed to be up to temp in two minutes, that's one functional difference that I can see between it and the tricker/+ models. Also the resale value of the unwarrantied older clouds will have to take a bit of a dive if it's not alrerady.

I would still use the WeMo if there is an auto-off feature.

Okay this is very helpful. I was more interested in the reliability of the ticker units. I've heard they are pretty reliable compared to other units but would buying one this late in the game be a risky decision?

As I was told when I got my Cloud+ and had the same worries, life is a risk. Ooooor something like that. :lol:

Haha guess that's what it all comes down to! Yeah I think I'm just gonna go for it. I've been wanting a cloud for soo long and it just seems like too good of a deal to pass up. I did some digging and everything I could find about ticker models sounds really good, seems like most peoples tickers are still going strong..

it seems like i am going to need an elbow adapter to use with my new mobius piece. I am guessing this based off of pappy and slightly medicated's videos with the stereo matrix tube and the cloud. i know this is super lazy, but can anyone confirm this? i am not at home with my cloud...

//////,
gotta be the same one. All those Mobius piece's fire differently and you can see they fire the same in both videos. Also if you look in the second video the cloud looks to be sideways and that is because it is!! I remember them saying that they accidently dropped the cloud right on the joint and all it did was bend the glass a little because it was hot at the time.

I thought the cloud looked more than a little crooked in the joint. Thanks for clearing that up!

That just happened...
I was visiting a friend of mine in Breckenridge this week and finally got to examine his broken non clicker cloud. Of course a lead had come loose from the heater and the other lead looked very fragile. I had no means to repair it so I reassembled.

Upon returning home I brainstormed a bit and come up with this solution. He is going to mail it to me and I'll attempt a fix.

Would be awesome if that worked! Cheap solution for a lot of broken clouds :whoa:
