My order # was 304 but I got unit # 49. I'm betting I got the 49th unit shipped.

The #49 is the serial number, assigned in production sequence. If you received yours among the earliest shipments with a 304 order number, that indicates that pre-orders upon conversion to real orders had order numbers allocated at that time. But if you received yours recently, that suggests that the unit was either pre-allocated or re-allocated from elsewhere.

Units definitely weren't shipped in serial # order.

He's not done another review since unless I've missed it. No doubt he will, he tends to review vapes every couple of weeks or so

A couple months ago he made some comparisons of the Cloud to S&B's new Plenty, in that thread. The short of it was that he sees the Cloud - with the caveat of presuming beta issues were addressed - as the best direct draw vape with the Plenty "pretty close".

That's too bad that dopefiend doesn't realize that there is no "best" direct draw vape, it's apparently the one that you use lol

Assuming the Plenty was pretty close because the temp needle fell off lol!

If I gave the impression that they were, then my wording my faulty. As a broad generalization, sequential order numbers tend to approximate shipments, except with back-orders and when an allocation system is being used (such as when a Cloud and HT have to be mated for an order to be compete). This is at the company's discretion. Serial numbers on the other hand must be strictly controlled for manufacturing, accounting, warranty, and audit purposes. It's interesting that the SN's are much higher than the Order Numbers, which leads me to think that the shipment flow is being gated by the HT's.

boobs will the bowl from the cloud fit in the eq elbow?

Hmm I haven't tried it yet. But I'm guessing no since these bowls are huge.

Hope we like it? I need a mop to clean up the big puddle of drool on the floor! I love your videos man! WOW! Firstly, that is a SERIOUS ELB man...like I mean quite a bit of products in there lol I wish I had access to waxes and such. I can get budder king budda, but not sure that would work as well in there.

Was the taste decent even on your last couple of hits? You musta been DESTROYED! lol I LOVED the tap out at the end!!!!!! lol!!!

Yea tasted pretty good. The last 2-3 weren't that tasty but the first 2-3 were nuts. I must admit that bowl fuck up after the first few hits.

Mine has also gotten so hot it's uncomfortable to hold a few times. But when I use it the temp is fine. Ive learned to turn it off when I'm done.
Good idea. The vape isn't designed to be left on like a log vape. I take a few hits and I'm good for a while. I just shut it off. No part of the vape gets hot enough to even be uncomfortable. The few times I've left it on for an extended period, only the screw heads are too warm for comfort. I have no problem avoiding the vape housing itself, which obviously is going to get hot after a while.

Too many people are asking too much of vapes these days, as far as instant gratification. Vaping temps are high heat, and expecting a heat up time under a minute and cool surfaces all around, no matter how long the vape is on and ready to hit, just isn't realistic. And neither is expecting the same heat performance, time wise, out of a full sized vape designed to be 'hit proof', as from a small portable that likely doesn't even claim heat retention as a feature.

I didn't mean for it to appear that way. I was actually disagreeing with the member who thought serial #49 meant it was the 49th vape shipped. I personally know of two units shipped out the same day, where the serial numbers were very far apart.

Of course it's not a shocker. Did you forgot that I suggested that you would probably want to do just that - precisely for the "can't take this" reason?

The 4% is not BS. There have been about a dozen actual Cloud/HT failures. About 300 shipped. Do the math. And the fact remains it's still within industry norms for a new product of this type.

You are right about this though: No one "knows if these things will crap out." But come to think of it, no one knows that about any brand new product, now do they? "Early adopters" take this risk - that's why they're called early adopters. The "Main street" majority of buyers wait until a product is more proven.

Each to his own. I don't see the need to be confrontational about it. Or for all the hand-wringing.

Unless you truly know the actual numbers shipped vs the actual real failure rates, it is probably irresponsible if not outright deceptive in quoting these statistics as being factual.

Regardless of the true failure rate , the fact that actual spokespeople for the company have come forth and admitted to implementing new processes to minimize shortcomings in manufacture, in addition to ceasing sale of certain HTs, and stated THEY are concerned about reports of heating and HT isseus backs up and reconfirms concerns brought forth by people over the past several weeks.

Continuing to pretend like there are not issues that should be of concern to some does no service to VXL or any their consumers nor does making up statistics to back up your argument.

SM does a damn fine job answering for and defending his company and product, and in a far less confrontational and offensive manner than you have done recently .... let him do his work; you honestly are not helping.

THANK YOU ^^^^^^^^^^^ EXACTLY how I feel and VERY well said. He says that i'm derogatory and then calls me the "QC police" and attacks and jumps all over me, even though all i'm doing is stating my opinions and observations.

Truthfully I feel like you can't say anything negative about this thing, and that bugs me a little, and has contributed to somewhat of an about face, so thanks for that oldie

PS. I've been getting some PM's regarding taking over my preorder. I would like to reiterate that SM55 said this isn't allowed. Furthermore, I still have no idea when my preorder will come in, so if by that time I feel fully confident in the product, I still may take it up. Thanks though guys.

The numbers that OBG is throwing around are more or less accurate as he and I have been exchanging emails about what has been happening. The good news is that most of the issues that have plagued us over the last couple of weeks have been addressed and a solution has been identified. The leaky glass was a small oversight by TAFKAGM and new HydraCircs will be working as advertised.

As for the Cloud, the good news is that all of our issues are assembly related and not component related. We have acquired new tools that should be able to allow us to take better measurements for each unit during the QC process.

@vape4life - happy to give your spot to the next person waiting in line, just PM me your email address and we'll make it happen. I'll be sure to notify you when we get to the point in our manufacturing where it makes sense for someone with your buying requirements to revisit the Cloud. In the meantime, feel free to check in this thread every few months to check on the latest status updates as we make progress.

As you now presumably know (thanks SM), the numbers are sufficiently close.

Continuing to pretend like there are not issues that should be of concern to some . . .

No one is pretending about anything. You obviously haven't understood my posts. I do acknowledge the concerns. What I have suggested is maintaining proportional perspective, i.e., keeping in mind the actual number and percentage of real product failures, what the industry norms are, and what are the realistic expectations for "early adopters" of a brand new product from a brand new company. Nothing more, nothing less.

SM does a damn fine job answering for and defending his company and product, and in a far less confrontational and offensive manner than you have done recently .... let him do his work; you honestly are not helping.

You're right, he does. And he did, just above; please note.

Now everyone has had their say. Let's all be grown-ups now and just move on.

I was order 281 and I paid $350, so I don't know where the cut-off point is on that. Anyway, regardless -- I still think you should go through with it and deal with problems if they arise. There's folks here posting who haven't had a single complaint, if anything consider the fact I'm order 281 and there's hardly been 281 owners reporting into this thread. The time you are most likely to hear about a product or service is when something goes wrong, so it only follows that you're going to hear all of the smaller issues that arise here.

The cutoff point or the 350 point is somewhere between the first 500-600 preorders.

I haven't found it to get too hot, other than the screws. But that is easily solved with a couple of silicon wristbands, like livestrong bands. You could put loads on if you wanted, it would make it grippy and then you wouldnt need to worry about it getting hot to touch at all. Ladies and Gentlemen, pimp your clouds...

Don't want to be the kill joy here but i am pretty sure that 2 years after the first pre-orders is way too much time to make it to the 600 pre order.

Tell me about it! I pre-ordered around the same time as you did. I'm starting to get obsessed. :/

You're correct. The cut off for the $350 price point happened quite some time ago...(trust me, I thought I had pre ordered then lol, and come to find out, I hadn't ever pre-ordered or my pre-order was lost) So I placed my actual pre order just a couple months ago, in January.
