Man, you've got great glass and really great lungs.

Hi all - was hoping to gain a bit of advice from the group. I was contemplating the purchase of either a Mobius Stereo Matrix 65mm stemless bubbler, or perhaps the clear bub with single Matrix perc and was wondering if anyone had any feedback as to how either might perform with the Cloud? I love my Vertigo hydratube, but now all of this recent fun has got me on a bit of a glass kick.
Anyone out there have either setup, and how do you feel it compares to the HT? (the single matrix looks like it stacks like crazy on the vids I've seen!)
Cheers,

"We are aware that this issue exists. It does exist in other tubes from other companies with a similar design as well. It is definitely a problem with the smaller diameter tubing coming down off the bottom of the male fitting. The fittings we buy are the largest tubing size available. What we find works best is to seal the mouthpiece with one hand and move the piece with the other. You will find that the water will move MUCH less in the male if you have a good seal on the mouthpiece with your hand.
Unless we bumped up the male size to the large 29/32 males this issue will not go away. However, at this time we don't really see the need to do that. Other than making the male stick up further, which I think starts to look really weird, the only thing that can be done is buy a female to male adapter, be careful moving around the bub when your nail is hot or use the trusty hand trick. Good luck and thanks so much for your support. We try our best."
BTW.... The correct water level for the Stereo Matrix is below the top of the upper Matrix perc... a little above the middle of the perc.... Thanks!

I haven't used any of the larger Matrix Bubblers (60mm and 65mm). I know they both are fitted with 18mm male joints so you'd need an adapter to work with the cloud. The downside to the bubblers is that the it has a smaller diameter tubing coming down off the bottom of the male fitting. After you take your hit the water rushes back into this tubing. Since it's more narrow on the bubblers I would imagine the water would rush back into that tube with more force. Depending on your water levels it could shoot all the way up to the cloud. It's something to consider. Here's what cIRclE has said about this problem:
You simply can't go wrong with a Mobius though. He apparently has a one or two new percs coming out tomorrow for 4/20.
Really? It appears that every other review has had SOME sort of issue. I do agree that it's probably better to wait for these wrinkles to be ironed out, but somehow I get the feeling from your tone that we should ACCEPT imperfections for $500?
I've never used a sterio matrix but it seems unlikely that the water would go up into the cloud wo the aid of a little blow. I mean if u were using it wo the cloud this would mean that it would overflow all the time which doesnt happen. I have the ion matrix bubbler and its my favorite piece ive ever used, hit it as light or hard as u want and it will stack to the top of the can everytime, which is perfect with the cloud, anyone can hit it however they want and it functions flawlessly everytime. Plus the popping sound of the bubbles make it sound like its turbo charged! I agree u cant go wrong with anything from mobius. Hoping one of their new pieces will be my 420 pickup.I have a Stereo Matrix 65mm stemless tube and the small Ion single matrix bubbler. While I can't comment on the 65mm BUBBLER I absolutely love both of my Mobii (is that plural haha) Both serve their own special little purpose with the cloud.
With the 65mm Tube I can take monsterous rips...like giant rips hehe. Excellent flavor, no tickle in the throat at all. Awesome for getting thoroughly medicated
The smaller Ion Bub hits the hardest IMO. The vapor has a shorter path to travel in this instance. The flavor might be a bit stronger but you might have a little cough after your hit. It's a little awkward using this as well cause you have the cloud right in your face. You get over it quickly though.

Ill go on record as saying Ive had no issues.
There ya go.
Heck, why not even go with a UPS (wiki article on Uninterpretable Power Supplies) Depending on which one you purchase, they can do what a regular surge protector does as well as their primary function...To quote wikiI think all VXC users should use a surge protector to help increase the longevity of the VXC. It was required with my VHW, and sure cant hurt with the VXC.
Wikipedia said:The primary role of any UPS is to provide short-term power when the input power source fails. However, most UPS units are also capable in varying degrees of correcting common utility power problems:
UPS units are divided into categories based on which of the above problems they address[dubious – discuss], and some manufacturers categorize their products in accordance with the number of power-related problems they address.
- Voltage spike or sustained Overvoltage
- momentary or sustained reduction in input voltage.
- Noise, defined as a high frequency transient or oscillation, usually injected into the line by nearby equipment.
- Instability of the mains frequency.
- Harmonic distortion: defined as a departure from the ideal sinusoidal waveform expected on the line.
Why am I not surprised?
I'm not suggesting that anyone should do anything.
I was just making a simple observation, with a follow-on logical (well, at least to me) conclusion : Anyone who feels that there are "many problems" based upon "every other review" having "SOME sort of issue" will quite possibly be unsatisfied and therefore would probably be happier waiting until if/when those "many problems" are resolved. That's pretty straightforward.
Possibly the more relevant question is, why are you reading something into it that isn't there? Might it just be because you don't think anyone should accept "imperfections"? Just a wild guess based on the "tone" of your many "imperfection" posts.
Anyway, the crux of the matter here is (a) one's definition of "imperfections" and (b) frequency/ proportionality. It would seem that you have a very broad definition, from real product issues like a leaking HT or a heater malfunction, through to very subjective considerations such as upper screws on the casing getting hot when the unit is turned up high or the ticking noise, down to a missing ELB bag in one shipment. I suppose that with a broad enough definition, including every reviewer's cons, one might get to half the reviews having "issues". But still that's rather meaningless.
Because, all "imperfections" are not created equal, and some simply, well, aren't. One off's don't count. And while any owner is entitled to dislike, say, the subtle ticking, there aren't reports of any owner sending the unit back over these things; in other words, these "imperfections" are such for only a comparative few, and apparently not enough to reach the level of buyer's remorse. Cosmetic blemishes fit in the same category; entirely subjective and apparently not chasing away customers. That leaves the real actual product malfunctions, such as those reports about the heater and the HT flaws - these real imperfections are of course not acceptable.

Can we just agree to disagree and move on please?
If i'm breaking any forums rules then please report me to a mod because i'd like to know what the rule is because i'm surely not slamming anyone.
You are starting to become borderline offensive however.
Perhaps you should stop your fanboyism and accept these issues are a reality.
VXL does and they actually WANT to hear these things because it will improve their process and product.
Oldie, relax i'm NOT complaining....simply making an OBSERVATION because some of us require a little stealth. It's not a "problem" "issue" "imperfection" or anything.
Your perception/interpretation of my posts are sooooo inaccurate.
Can you please again point me to the clicking/ticking and how I thought it was a major problem?
And now anyone that doesn't agree with me is a fanboy? (sigh)
nevermind....i'm out.
I don't know what shop you mean, but I wouldn't expect to see it in a lot of brick and mortar stores. I think distribution will be tightly controlled. The cloud looks amazing but i think i shall wait till it i can get it in the shop
