No offense, really, but I call BS, or your unit was very defective!!, which is a real possibility (being defective) but this is an integral part of the design...regardless of the ends of the tube making it impossible to slide out either way, the heater is fused to the tube...so, you would have broken that connection, or it never was made properly, meaning your cloud shouldn't have really functioned.
See my pictures below...It would be impossible for a non broken Clouds 'bamboo' (glass tube) to slide out at all...
The openings in the metal casing are too small, and the ends of the glass tube, too large, for the tube to move more than a few millimeters in either direction.
Someone from VXL can confirm, but if High Sigh's Cloud really was defective, in that the bamboo was able to be removed, when he received it (before even using it) it should be replaceable under warranty, granted he contacted VXL in the first place.
Question is, did you ever question the fact that the bamboo came completely out of your brand new, un-used Cloud?
