Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Looking at your line up I think you have enough standbys to hold you over in the event of the unspeakable... :whoa:

Unfortunately I just found that my VHW isn't turning on and it was the only other vape that could really get me fully medicated without ripping through bowl after bowl after bowl. I really should just sell a bunch of these and buy a back up Cloud

I wonder if I have a Cloud that doesn't stop heating up. If I keep it at 10 o'clock the outer casing will be a little warm when the light turns green. If I leave it for another 10-15min the outer casing will get significantly warmer and the inner core will be quite hot, I'll borrow a infrared thermometer to test how hot it is getting...
Bassplayer,
I did this experiment with my infrared thermometer a few months ago. Here were my results:

I was thinking the same thing...time for me to unload some vapes. In all reality I only use my Cloud, my Pax and my UD's most of the time. Everything else basically is collecting dust but for some reason I cant bring myself to part with any of em! Call me a Vape hoarder I suppose... I can live with that...

No that's 100% normal, if it didn't stop heating it would get searing hot and never turn green.

You could test it at a hotter temp to be totally sure but the reports of the clouds that just continue heating stay red the whole time

Yea my 2nd unit seems to be a unit that keeps heating up. I need to send it in to have it fixed... just need to find packing material and a box. Anyway, mine never turns green. It just gets hotter and hotter and after about 15 minutes it is impossibly hot to touch.

Guys,

FYi -- The outer shell of the cloud getting hotter is not an indication of the behavior of the heater. Regardless of where the heater is throttling, after time passes the heat begins to bleed through, and the outer shell will get warmer, and warmer, This is why we have invested in the cloud sleev (which by the way I will have an update for everyone watiing on them later tonight!)

I was looking for that earlier thanks! Full throttle, mine seems to be running around 155F on the outer shell. I did a reading on the glass joint on top as well, it was around 200F. That is after it was running for about 25 minutes.

My primary unit is at 3 o'clock and it is around 115 on the outer shell. The glass part is closer to my 2nd unit around 190F. I have had it running most of the day. Not exactly scientific... I just wanted an idea of how they compared.

My Cloud has been running fine all day so I'm not sure what that was about last night. I talked with the VapeXhale team and they basically said if it's working now then it should continue to work and to let them know if anything changes. So I guess I'll be keeping my revived Cloud and hopefully it was just a one time occurrence. Truly bizarre.

Does anyone know if it is possible to just buy the glass tube that goes in the cloud?? The joint of mine broke due to it falling over, and when I contacted vapexhale they told me it was not possible to fix for cheaper than a new cloud would be. I do not see how this can be true because the day i got mine, the tube could slide all the way off the unit, before I even used it, but was told it was suppossed to do that. I do not have the funds to buy a new cloud so how can I not just slide a new one in, since the old one has come out and been since I have received it?

Actually, I'm not sure where you got your information but that inner tube should have been fused to the unit. It was never actually suppose to slide ever. (EDIT: IT MAY SLIDE AS NOTED BY VXL) It's supposed to be suspended so airflow can get in underneath it instead of it resting on a table. Plus, how would you use the Cloud upside down if the tube wasn't secured? Plenty of videos on the net showing people doing that. Your tube should have always been secured.

Also, unless you know a glass maker, you can't buy that tube. If you look at the patent it actually has three parts where it comes in to make the tube smaller to control the airflow. It's an intricate piece of glass as well.

To further clarify, the glass tube, or 'bamboo' as VXL calls it now, should move, slightly. I can't recall why, but it should have a little movement, some more than others, and some not noticeable without force...BUT, the tube should in now way come out...if you look at the top or bottom of the cloud, anyone should be able to tell that the tube could never come out, unless one end or the other broke off...both ends are larger than the metal enclosures openings!

EDIT*

The inner glass tube is referred to as the "Bamboo" at VXL, the inner bamboo is as designed able to move slightly, if we made it 100% stiff the cloud would be much more fragile by allowing that glass to give a little bit, we noticed that the cloud has a higher likelihood of surviving a minor drop, ect. If glass is locked in place, and there is a trauma, it will break easier.

So if my "bamboo" slid when I got it, it was already broken? I understand my warranty is probably void but that really sucks, as It broke because it slid out when I pulled the hydratube and snapped. It still works, because it was the tip that broke, but now the hydratube sticks to the joint and pulls it out unless you firmly hold the bottom.

You should contact VXL about that one IMO. Open a ticket.
Already did that. They called me saying that it would cost 375 to fix, so buying a new one for 400 would be the other option. I dont have the money to dish out another 400$ so looks like I'm stuck with a broken cloud :(

No offense, really, but I call BS, or your unit was very defective!!, which is a real possibility (being defective) but this is an integral part of the design...regardless of the ends of the tube making it impossible to slide out either way, the heater is fused to the tube...so, you would have broken that connection, or it never was made properly, meaning your cloud shouldn't have really functioned.

See my pictures below...It would be impossible for a non broken Clouds 'bamboo' (glass tube) to slide out at all...

The openings in the metal casing are too small, and the ends of the glass tube, too large, for the tube to move more than a few millimeters in either direction.

Someone from VXL can confirm, but if High Sigh's Cloud really was defective, in that the bamboo was able to be removed, when he received it (before even using it) it should be replaceable under warranty, granted he contacted VXL in the first place.

Question is, did you ever question the fact that the bamboo came completely out of your brand new, un-used Cloud?

They must have changed it since yours, but mine does not have the flared part at the bottom. It is a straight, square end.

Well theres the problem.. It didnt slide all the way out when I first got it, but would have about a half inch of play. I figured that was OK granted troi's post about it.. but as time went on it got worse and eventualy could slide further and further up.

Like I said though, I think, and still need clarification from VXL, that all Clouds bamboo's have a flared bottom.

If yours did in fact have a bamboo that could slide further than VXL's admitted tolerance, I would keep trying to work with them. From what I have seen they are a good bunch willing to work hard to satisfy customers.

Having said that, I wouldn't be too surprised to hear they take a hard line stance on warranty claims. With the recent wave of product in the hands of the general public, their customer service department (Is it still 1 guy who also does the IT?) is most likely flooded with dubious warranty claims.

Your tube could never slide completely out. If yours did that then it wasn't even a cloud. Sounds like you fucking it up and broke it and its your own fault. Sucks but you will be buying a new cloud if thats the case.

This picture was posted recently. I see no flare.

Isn't that a Beta Cloud, though? The Cloud in that picture, which was Posted recently, is actually an older Cloud; The Beta 1. \/\/\/
@vtac Is that the infamous "beta 1"?

The newer units do not have that flared piece on the bottom of the glass anymore.

Thanks. I wonder why. And, even without the flared bottom, do you think the bamboo would still be able to slide out the top? Wouldn't the heater being wrapped around it stop that from happening?

Delete. back to back post.
