Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

It is safe if there is a little water in it. I have overfilled & ended up with water in the bottom. In that even I dump the water & blow into the bottom to get as much out as possible, but a few drops has never been a problem. The HT that had an ice catcher will of course drain & get some extra filling the bottom part... that's time to dump, but I didn't have a problem with it nearly up to the top (where it would overflow... THAT would be BAD.)

Bottom line: Try to keep the water out, but if there are a few drops don't stress it.

question: Is it possible / safe to use a hydra tube directly after it has been cleaned/rinsed with water?
Yes, just wrap some cloth around your finger and dry the joint and you can go. Wet joint could make a joint lock and it leak a drop of water down the bamboo. If there is a lot of water in the bottom chamber, just turn it upside down 2 times to drain it. If the bottom chamber is just wet, you can use it and it will dry out from the hot/dry vapor going through. You can also vape with some water in it, as long as the water level is not high enough to reach the slits, which could be dangerous as it would leak the water down.
So, in short, you can you the tube with water in the bottom chamber if you can't get the water to run down the bamboo and if the joint is dry.

edit 2: I know I have asked before, but this is an official statement from vapefiend's website: PLEASE NOTE: Using the Evo inverted is not recommended as it can cause over-heating and may damage the unit.

On the official Vapexhale website you find:
CAUTION: The EVO may be inverted during inhalation. However, do NOT leave the EVO inverted for an extended period of time.

So I am wondering - are the international (EU) units different and are not meant to be inverted at all?
Vapefied has got the old version of that caution message, vapexhale updated that message because there was exactly this confusion.
You can invert the EVO, just don't leave it like that when you're not actively hitting. And vapefiend should update that too.

I simply don't get the idea of that silicone-adapter kit?
Silicon adapter is good if you have, for example a group around a table with a lot of stuff on it. Passing around the EVO would be difficult, but you can attach a silicone hose like a hookah, and just pass around the hose (if you have any piece with a joint on the output, like VapeXhale hydracirc 2.0 or HydraBase, both of them are in my video). Or you can connect the EVO to your glass through silicone and then you can leave it as its not inverted and if you pass it around, the vape can stay safely away. Also you get many sizes, so it increases compatibility.

Thank you so much for all your answers. What a nice helpful community this is, love it ! :- )

Now I am really looking forward to the hydra tube I have ordered .

@time2change :

I did a burn-off for some hours because I've noticed a strong factory-new-like smell. TBH the 1-2 hours of burn-off which I made didn't do a lot , but now, after 3 weeks of use, the smell is gone completely .
So, I think you really don't have to, but it won't harm the EVO, too

Even if the unit has a new factory smell, i don't think you really need to burn-off before using. The bamboo which is the airpath is all-glass, so the smell couldn't possibly be coming from within. It has to be coming from the outside of the bamboo, which is the electronics housing and/or the heater. You are not inhaling that when you hit the EVO. Maybe only second-hand which would be diluted to being insignificant.

thanks, been looking forward to this for a while ... : )

How far do i fill up the hydratube - in the bottom chamber?
I'm trying to get it so that i can turn it on it's side and not have any pour through the center hole.

I just looked at my EZ load bowls, and they're rusty?? at the bottom and along the seam :S
i thought stainless steel didn't rust..?

Pour water through the mouthpiece, it should only be just enough to cover the slots/perc.
There should be no water in the bottom chamber.

You've got a Swagger double? Then yes. Having water in the bottom would just risk it being sent down into the vape and also it would become hot soon and add irritating water steam into your hits. Yes, the percs are hydrating the hit, but adding steam from hot water is too much :)
And the seam at the bottom of the ELB are discolored by the welding.
Also, there are welded seams at the top and one line from the bottom to the top.

Seek,
hey, I've got the honeycomb hyrda - it looks like it can handle water in the bottom section..
here's the ELBs i have,,, they look a bit nasty ..:

Nope, no water in the bottom section.
The bottom section is only there as an overflow protection.
Fill with water to just below the honeycomb disc

TBH those ELBs look OK to me, maybe a little rough around the bottom of the front one, but still fine.
If worried, give em a little iso rinse and make sure it's dried fully before use

Glad i didn't try it like that :p
So fill it to just below the honeycomb ^^? so the honeycomb is not summerged?
sorry for all the questions, but i get things wrong pretty often - despite best intentions

The 'rust' color is only on the joints and is on them all. Not rust...no worries!

You will get varying opinions on where to fill the water up to, but the one rule that must be followed is not to fill it above the stem in the center of the perc. If you go over that you get the water in the bottom chamber like your pic earlier. Get the water out of this bottom chamber as well.

I usually have this amount of water in the bottom chamber...overflow protection you say? so this is ok?

Ideally, when filling an empty tube, you would not fill above the center tube and there would be no water in the bottom chamber. The bottom chamber is there for overflow protection against blowing/coughing/laughing/whatever into it and forcing water into the Evo. Having any water in there diminishes the design's ability to protect from this kind of mishap.

I never do, but after a while when using, some goes down...I guess its an overflow when I'm taking a hit, the water rises and then fall down...but that is ok to have such a short line of water in the bottom chamber, correct?

Ideally no water is best, but a tiny amount of water in the bottom chamber isn't going to harm anything. It's the overflow protection doing it's job.
You just don't want the bottom section to fill up and get anywhere near the slots above the 18mm joint as it could then soak your EVO and herb/oil

Correct. And other than patiently waiting for it to evaporate, it's near impossible to get it all out.

Lol it's almost impossible to get water out of the bottom of a HT sometimes. In my hudrabomb I can get it all out with tapping the bottom and spinning it over a sink lol. This can take over 5 minutes...

I accidentally have a turbine right now lol, mess up on my end there.. Anyways I haven't used it but I did put water it to see how I liked the way it functioned. hard to get all the water out of the bottom.. It will evaporate in the mail I'm sure, it's only a drop. Honeycomb is coming soon so I will get to try them all  I am glad I've seen the entire line up and am happy with the bomb and the honeycomb. I am too much of a high temp guy for the turbine. I mean even without using it I could see that it didn't bubble enough for me, like I was trying to put too much water in it and it was no good, I wouldn't have liked it so I'm glad I got to see it because it really intrigued me before.

VXL has a new glass supplier I think. The logo on the turbine I have right now is colored and it's a very nice piece. I like my bomb but the MP and the base on this turbine are nice! They are basically the same just slight difference in perportion and the base isn't thicker on the new one but it has a but of a lip where it starts so it looks a bit thicker if that makes sense. Anyways thought i would chime in on the hydratube talk because I love those things
Peace :leaf:
