I nearly always use a handheld steam cleaner to clean the ELB, but if they're really caked up, I'll soak them in *ISO ALCOHOL 99.9% and salt to completely clean them. However, I do not use the steamer on the Hydratube, I usually just leave it to soak in a hot water/salt solution, before applying the ISO ALCOHOL and salt, and then shaking vigorously before using a brush to remove debris from the Hydratube.
PS; I always use my steam cleaner for all my S & B stuff (Crafty/Mighty, Volcano and Plenty) As for the Hydratube; I'm using ISO at the moment, but I'm going to try white distilled vinegar next time, as that way works out cheaper!!
Not saying Just saying, Without saying,
Peace
