I've been having a bitch of a time cleaning my hydrabomb. I had been using the tube and evo for all my medication needs the past two weeks. Noticed I was starting to get some strange uneven roasting on my elbs. Tried the standard mouthpiece and didn't have the problem...which told me that my issue was with my hydratube. The bottom chamber was really caked with resin and I think it was impeding the airflow. Anyways decided to give it a good clean and man was it a pain in the ass using salt and iso...took forever.
Anyways, I thought there has to be an easier way. Recently I bought a little glass lock container and put 2 bottles of grunge off in it to soak smaller pieces likes nails, elbs, arizer stems, and some small bubbler oil rigs that could fit into the container. Works like magic. I let it soak overnight...pull out the glass and wash and it's like new. So I'm thinking of a soaking solution for my larger glass pieces like my hydratube. Grunge off is too expensive to fill a large bucket like I can pick up from Home Depot that seals. I'm thinking maybe going with simple green concentrate for a cheaper solution. I also have pwb but in my experience it makes a resinous mess. I've soaked some dab rigs before in a gallon pwb mixture solution and when I pulled the piece out globs of resin stuck to everything. Just thought I would reach out to other hydratube owners and see what your preferred cleaning method is and thoughts on a soaking medium like simple green. The reason I'm leaning toward the soaking method is because it's easy. No shaking, no alcohol...just soak for 24 hours remove and rinse.
Edit...
@Simplicius i just ordered a new cable for my evo. I went through mono price because I wanted a heavier gauge cord than 18. They have a 25 foot 14 awg cord that is rated for 15 amps. You can go with 16 or 18 but I just wanted a thicker cord that was able to handle more amperage. Anyways here is the monoprice link.
