I have the opposite , maybe you need to send your Evo in and have your temps checked. At 12 I get anywhere from 4-7 hits , if I bump up to 3 I can extract all in about 2-3 hits. This is with a half full elbow or 75% full, try to not fill the elb all the way. The Evo seems to work better at 50-75% packed. Also dependent on draw speed , your material quality and the dryness of it. There is many things that can contribute to this , even your draw speed.

I'm with you Justpassed..... I get 6 hits at 1 o'clock from hardly more than a 1/4 ELB. Maybe @Simplicius is using a big ol' piece of glass with a huge can and has an equally huge lung capacity?

I do very hard an long pulls and my material compared to some cali medical weed is probably mid or something. Just had a nicely filled ELB and again got 2 nice hits and 2 more medium ones.

I don't think my Evo has a problem since at higher temps it doesn't combust or anything, like I said the experience is almost the same. But I also just go between 12:30-3:00, which isn't that big of a range.
I think it's mostly my way of "smoking" (edit: from now on that should say "vaping") combined with the quality of my bud.

It's true. I get about the same results from a 1/4 ELB at 12-1.

Are you leaving your ELB in the EVO in between hits to let it soak up some heat? Are you stirring in between hits?

1-2 hits off a full ELB sounds like something is not right.

Though I haven't really tried any mid or low grade in the EVO, so maybe that's what it is as you point out.

I have a DH one, I just put rock salt and 99% ISO in there, shake it up and rinse it out with warm water.

Don't using boiling water as that high of temperature can cause a crack/break due to thermal shock. So always pre heat the glass by running the hottest tap water possible through it prior to using any hot solution, and don't let it get boiling(for water based) as that is adding extra risk of thermal shock.

I don't think there's anything wrong, I can quite easily blast a full elb in 2 hits with the dial set around 1:30
If I fill just a 1/4 I get one decent rip and there's basically nothing left apart from a wisp and a dry toasted flavour if I try to hit it again.
I do stir between hits.
My material may not be up to the same standard you guys in the states have access to.. i dunno but I've posted a couple of pics in the my stash thread before and I think it looks pretty good to me imho
It's stored in jars with 62% boveda packs and taken out a while before grinding to dry out fully

I use PBW(Powdered Brewery Wash) with hot (not boiling) water.

I hate portables because I hate batteries.
A lot of people hate the SOLO however when I had ACRES by the OCEAN a PORTABLE would have been nice to have out in the fields of COLAS (no seeds) we just smoked joints all day.
Only ZIG ZAGS were available.

So I appreciate the SOLO more than most?

I mean, I can vape any bowl in one hit, at any temp above or equal to 12 o'clock. The difference is in smoothness, effects and the higher temps will get finished even faster - before I finish my hit. With smaller lung capacity like most people have (for example nearly everyone else I let use my EVO) gets your kind of results - 4-7 hits at 12 or 2-3 at 3.
You could have the same units, both working correctly.

I'd also guess it's very dependant on the way you hit the bowl and maybe also a little on the quality of your herb. My Evo seems fine and I'm very happy with it, but still relieving to see other people having a similar experience with it.

I've been a steady long distance runner for nearly 20 years. My lung capacity is excellent. My beats per minute average around 45 to 50 so I can hold the hit, comfortably, for a good while. Admittedly I do try to optimize product use by trying to get the clouds to develop early in the draw to drive the goodies into my lower lungs and I stop hitting when I have about 1/8 capacity left and just suck air for the remainder. I watch the vapor as I inhale but on exhale I rarely blow out anything like I see in some milky videos. I also use the standard mouthpiece 90% of the time so using a bubbler to cash out a bowl isn't what I do. Another factor might be my low to mid-level tolerance...it doesn't take much for me to get happy.

The difference could be glass used, style/technique, lung capacity, flower quality, temps used and how hard I rub my lucky rabbits foot. It might go against my nature but tonight I'm gonna load 1/4 ELB, give it a good heat soak at 2, use my bubbler and try to wear it all out in one to two hits. I'm not sure if I loaded 3/4 of the ELB.... that I could cash out in one or two hits.

This is why I love the EVO....you could go big or not ,,,, and it'll stay right there with you.

I take big hits and I only get 2-4 hits with a 3/4 loaded elb. I can defently finish a 1/4 loaded elb in one hit no problem. I don't like loading just a 1/4 elb as I feel like I don't get a big enough hit. I go for 1/2-3/4 full and never more than 4 hits but usually more like 3 hits.

I keep my EVO set at 1

I am also able to clear an 3/4 full ELB in 1 rip, I am having huge lungs, too and I think when you dial in very high temperatures (as I do), the herb gets extracted that quick, so that it is indeed possible to extract such an amount with 1-2 draws.

I did investigate this further yesterday, and you guys are right - even on 12 o'clock position my bubbler milks but I don't like the 2nd draw which I get when doing so - I prefer fresh herb for every hit, that's why I load amounts that I am able to clear in 1 tasteful hit

So we need to add another factor to the mix.....is the bowl actually cashed out or is it that the taste has cashed out? The first 2 hits I get are the best tasting and the best cloud producers. The third hit on... is not as tasty and productive as the first two hits. Maybe some folks cash out sooner than some might and consider that bowl 'done' where I might hit it a few more times.

I keep hitting the bowl until there's absolutely no more vapor being produced. I honestly don't mind the taste of the tail end hits at all. It's nothing like the way an ass hit of a smoked bowl used to taste.

On a 1/3 elb I get about 12 good hits because I cover up the openings of my hydratubes to trap the vapor.
I get a lungful and still have enough trapped for a 2nd hit.

I pack my ELB pretty full? Like 3/4 of the way usually with no tamping of any kind. I just scoop with my gold digger skille tool from PIU like 3 or 4 scoops and I vape from 12 to 1:30 at the very very highest. I get huge milky hits! I mean my bomb base and hydrabomb are large, I have a honeycomb coming tomorrow to compare, also my 14 inch zob beaker even gets milked at this heat level. I get 4-6 nice hits. I don't see the need to push higher because the glass is white walled, piece is milked and it hits hard. Can't believe people are vaping on 3?!? Wow haha I don't even want to try that I feel like if I liked it I would do it often, using more herb.

Is that the same as skywalker og? That flower has an extremely potent high I'm a fan.

Skywalker OG is maybe my favorite strain..? I love my OG strains more than anything. California love is great! Anyone in SoCal especially check out HTC or Hill Temple Collective and grab that one. It's a mix of all the great Cali OGs. Tahoe, SFV, Alpha, and one more.. Think it's either SF or Humboldt OG. That is probably my favorite kush I've tried. Idk if you can even find it on leafly yet but hill tree has it right now I'm LOVING gorilla glue #4 and some AK-47. Never thought that strain tasted great but AK through the EVO is amazing. Getting some Hippy Crippler later.. AK-47 X Blue Sattelite
