I'm no expert in concentrates so correct me if I go off the tracks...... When using the nail there is a point where you back away from the draw/cloud because what's left is a bit nasty. What's the taste like when you get to the nasty in the ELB sandwich.

I ask because I can see myself making that same sandwich.....maybe tonight

Honestly, the nails in general are a pain in the ass to maintain. Any tips?

I've gotten mine like new by using ISO and then PBW, and then sometimes ISO again if it's really bad.

My friend is so happy with his EVO. Getting so high, that inevitable something went wrong.
His brand new Hydrahoneycomb HT fall and broke. He told me he broke the mouthpiece only.
Sad day... I still need to see photos to asses the damage, or Skype, to see if it's fixable...

By the way, I discovered last night - wax sandwich in an ELB at about 2 o'clock is a beautiful thing.

What's a wax sandwich ? Sounds like you're putting flower and wax in a vapexnail, which doesn't seem viable to me, but please enlighten me.

Not a nail, but an elb. Sandwich some wax in between some flower. Not too much wax so it doesn't melt out of the elb.

So I had a little splurge....finally decided to order the official vxl hydrabomb hydratube. After seeing some pictures of other members new hydrabombs I decided to buy one. It was looking like all the QC issues had been ironed out. Mine looks beautiful.....no flaws I can see. Very happy. I fill the water to just a hair above the crystal grenade perc. A little bit of water makes its way into the side car mouthpiece. Is this normal?

Yeah it's normal, I find that if I fill literally just above the top of the bomb perc I can avoid any splashing in the mp even on the clear, but if it's even a pinch more it bubbles a little at the end of the side car MP. Never comes up and doesn't really affect anything. I see videos of the honeycomb and turbine HT do the same. Like there will be a little splash of water at the end of the sidecar. I think you'll like the official. I abuse mine and it always fires perfectly and works great. By abuse I mean use it every day. I've basically only used that by its self, I like just a HT when I'm on the couch or in bed. Or with it on top of the bomb base when I'm at my desk usually for longer sessions since I got the Evo. Like I have a closet full of glass that feels lonely haha. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine man.

It's just like that rush of wide open air propels a few drops of water up to my mouth. Anyways sounds like mine is functioning ok. Just wanted to make sure. Now onto trying this thing out with a loaded ELB.

Sounds like you get a little more splash then me but idk.. I use the bomb base a lot and when I use it on the couch I don't lift and clear hard. I'll do a session with it flat on a table and I'll lift and clear hard and see if any reaches my mouth, I just haven't had 1 drop in the mouth unless it was obviously over full, lol it probably doesn't matter, I love it, it bubbles so nicely compared to my Chiniese matrix percs, have fun buddy

Just used it. Man this thing is awesome....I love the bigger base and being able to see the vapor in the bottom. Much more visually pleasing. I had been rocking the dhgate fc mouthpiece tube with the much slimmer base and I definitely prefer the shorter/larger base design. Just feels more solid and seems to rip harder...not sure how to describe it. But yeah I'm happy with my splurge. Although the wife didn't seem to be into the idea of $149 being a "steal" for an official hydratube....lol.

@jrcmang the Hydrobomb also works awesome dry. It works well with my EVO and my other vaporizers too. Someone had suggested it and I had never thought of that, using it dry. Where else can you get such useful information.

I called it "internal air diffuser" when I use a perc dry.

Tough one but for me I like the HydraBomb. You sacrifice a bit of taste vs the Turbine but the flow is smooooooo nice.

That said I think I may be in the minority opinion for those who own/have tried. I think most people go for the taste.

Everyone buys the hydrabomb because it looks better, well at least that's what I did but I have a feeling the honeycomb might suit high temp hits a little better.

@scottg402 I agree with you 100%. The little bit of flavor loss is more than made up in the smoothness of the bomb. But neither is a bad choice.

After 6 warranty claims on my Grasshopper in 3 months, I called it a day and sent it back for a refund and bought an Evo and Turbine HT instead.

It arrived this morning and I've just given it a test run.

I'm not disappointed, first use was more than satisfying, I think I made the right decision.

So I just heard back from vxl about the hydrabomb splash back. I sent them a picture of my hydrabomb and the current water level. The water stops right at the top surface of the crystal grenade. They informed me that I could drop the water level down more to where the top grid line of the perc is exposed. Said that would not affect performance. I thought it would since I thought vapor was traveling through the top of the grid but apparently it opens up lower so that the full perc doesn't need to be submerged.
