A couple of months ago I returned my Turbine Hydratube to
@VapeFiend.com as I never enjoyed using at and was convinced something was wrong with it- as it felt extremely restrictive to draw through. Vapefiend found one of the perc holes sealed up - so they gave me an option to swap it for another.
I requested to wait till they received stock of the Hydrabomb - which came in yesterday and it works really well.
Let me just say this first : I really appreciate Vapefiends service , they could have made me wait till they got their stock of Hydratubes to send me a replacement but instead they took one of the tubes allocated to be sold with an Evo and sent that to me next day to avoid me waiting any longer.
The piece itself was visually disappointing. I am one of the few here that was a bit vocal regarding VXL's drop in QC when it came to the HT'S. I just think at this price they should follow some measurement guidelines or soemthing so customers aren't getting products of such varying quality.
@CarolKing posted his Hydrabomb a few pages back that is the quality I would expect from a vaporizer of this caliber. Nice big can proportionate to the overflow chamber and the rest of the piece.
The matrix perc takes up most of the space in the can . No problem but the only way the perc fires is with the water covering the perc - which requires filling up more then half of the can, but as the can is soo small water will be shooting up the neck of the mouthpiece which leaves me watching that space in case it shoots me a drink .
The performance is good though it has a very nice tight seal on the Evo and just purrs away when you take a draw. It is definitely the most free flowing HT I have had the good fortune of owning.
The flavor on the turbine was definitely better but I couldn't comment on the draw restriction as my turbine was faulty in that regard. I also like how the neck is long enough so I can watch that vapor build up in the can before clearing it.
All in all I am happy I chose the Bomb over the Turbine. I have steven's HT for when I want flavor and less draw restriction. I just wish VXL could help their customers more when it came to glass. Please post some function videos of your glass on your site and some more detailed pics . So confusing you see one video of the same tube and it looks complete different, don't think that is right.
One thing I will say is that I would not pay full price for these Hydratubes, as it seems a gamble as to what quality of tube you would receive IMO. Maybe one of the limited edition ones they release in the future but not their standard stock. This is not a post bashing VXL - just an honest opinion of a VXL product which I know could be better.
Edit : Here is
@CarolKing Tube for reference ( same price , same company )
