I very much hope my VapeXHale Nail fits with my Hydratree when I pick it up today. That was something I hadn't considered, that the glass could be older and less compatable. Hopefully I won't have the problems you are...best luck sorting it out

I hope it does, man. I'm fucking pissed. This is a waste of my damn time. Now even if I exchange it that's another week where I can't use my unit.

This happened at the worst possible time, too. I just decided to purchased a larger-than-normal quantity of concentrate (rather than flowers) in anticipation of using it with this piece. Now i have nothing to consume my concentrate with and must go out and buy more flowers if I want to use my vape, which was fucking designed just as much to be used with concentrates as it was with flowers.

The one thing in your favor if you are going to exchange it, that they have pretty phenomenal shipping times but I hear you that it would be a hassle no one really wants to deal with.

Hope everything works out for ya! I'll report back in 5-6 hours ish, should have it and be home by then

Edit: and they don't even include the dry mouthpiece if you get a hydratube...
You get a dry mouthpiece only in a non-HT non-nail setup. I've never seen dry mouthpiece included in a HT package anywhere. Only exception were the modular Vapexhale 2.0 hydratubes that came with the shorty, but that's still not the same thing.

However I do not find it to be quite as efficient as advertised. Anyone else find this?
I find EVO ultimately efficient. What makes you think otherwise? Does your material give anymore active vapor in any other vape after being completely vaped in the EVO? Or do you mean that it extracts so much that your lungs can't absorb it all and you end up exhaling/coughing out a lot of vapor? The first case could mean there's something wrong with the EVO (or you're not running it hot enough), the second case only means you have to take smaller hits that you can absorb.

Just thought about adding a second ELB to the arizer elbow since seek mentiond the keck clip could melt up there. So one ELB in the bamboo (or a vxnail) and one in the elbow ontop. Do you think the air will be hot enough too give it a proper extraction or will it act more like a cotton filter? I think it could be like vaping on 2 temps at once.
I think you have answered yourself. You would be vaping at 2 different temps. How much different I'm not sure, the difference will get smaller as you hit it faster.

I also noticed that the two ELBs that I was provided look to have been discolored by what I can only assume is prior use. They look brown and "charred" around the top and bottom edges of the cylinder. Do all ELBs show up looking this way, or did you guys recieve ELBs that looked clean and unused?
What you are describing sounds like your ELBs are OK and brand new. All ELBs are discolored at the top and bottom. Tha't how they are manufactured, the discoloration is from the welding of the meshes together. This has been discussed before in here:

However, my biggest issue is with the vapexnail. When the vapexnail is being used with the unit, the Evolver Hydratree DOES NOT FIT OVER THE FUCKING NAIL. The hydratree's female joint doesn't have any room for the top part of the nail (the part that sticks out of the top of the male joint on the Cloud EVO so that you can grip it to pull it out), and this piece of glass prevents the female joint from "meeting up" with the male joint. The female joint is only deep enough for the male joint of the cloud EVO, so the hydratube sits on top of, and is blocked by, this extra piece of glass.

Why was I sent a "Starter Kit" with components and attachments that are not compatible with the kit's centerpiece? Who knows? I sure don't.

Anyway, I bought this thing intending to use it primarily with concentrates, and now I have a bunch of concentrate that I can't consume because VapeXhale sent me a hydratree that I'm assuming is old as hell (and was not designed with the VapeXnail in mind) and that is presumably used given how dirty everything was when it arrived.
That's a bummer, you are right, this HT is a very old model made long before VapeXnails even existed. They probably didn't realize this could happen and now several people who bought this setup are complaining about this. But I'm pretty sure they would replace your nail with a fitting one if you contacted them. So after this get sorted out, then I think all your issues will be gone. I'd suggest for you to get a little bit of herbs, so you can enjoy the unit until your nail is replaced. IMO the EVO is better at vaping herbs anyway.

Well, why the fuck would they still sell that hydratube with the new unit, which is designed to be used with the nail?

Now I'll have to special order my vapexnails? That's bullshit.

Seems like they just had old stock that they figured they'd try to make money off of somehow, since they're no longer selling the base units to be used with those hydratubes.

This is weird. I just put my Evolver Hydratree on the EVO with a nail to try it out. Plenty of clearance. Like 1/4 inch. (I'd take a pic, but the HT needs cleaning & no clear pic will come out.)

As for the dirty HT and discolored ELB's... My ELB's came with a bit of discoloring. I assumed it is from the weld as that is where the discoloration is primarily. I've gotten 3 HT's from VXL and all came looking good (they did get a quick iso bath & water rinse, as I didn't know where they've been.)

Lucky that yours fits.

As said, it probably didn't came to their mind at all that it would be possible for these two to not be compatible. After this fiasco I'm sure they will do everything they can to correct that - starting with a disclaimer on the hydratube that it may not fit a nail and excluding the nail from that one setup. To replacing the unfitting nails of affected customers. It's their fault but this could happen to anyone, that possibility wouldn't come to my mind either. And the EVO is not a concentrate-only vape like you're almost making it sound, you can use it with herbs just like the original Cloud that came with that tube. It's a bad luck that that tube cannot go with nails, but that doesn't mean its completely incompatible with the EVO.

Now I'll have to special order my vapexnails? That's bullshit.
I didn't say that, I said you should open a ticket and I'm confident they would REPLACE it for you. Don't order any more nails, that would only multiplay your problem. If you want more, you should probably ask them directly to pick some for you that could fit.

I really hope their customer service comes through in helping me out with this. I'm very dissatisfied right now, as I'm sure you can tell.

And to your point about it working with herbs also: yes, it does also work with herbs, but I purchased the unit primarily to use it with concentrates. I don't currently have a rig of my own, but I do have an herbal vaporizer. I decided to spend several hundred dollars on this vape rather than any other because of how great it is supposed to be when using it with concentrates. That's why I'm making a big deal of it. I wouldn't have bought the vaporizer at all if it didn't work with concentrates.

I understand being annoyed, but this seems like an easy fix for VXH. I'm sure customer service will take care of you. They just sent you the wrong nail. Mistakes happen. Try to be patient. I think you will be very happy. I'm of the opinion that this thing vaporizes concentrates as well or better than almost anything and is restrained only by the amount of concentrate that works in one pull. Hang in there.

Don't worry, they're gonna help you out. This is totally their bad; I wouldn't be surprised if after working with you towards a resolution they throw in some more freebies on top (I've seen a lot of that echo'd in this thread, all 300+ pages of it).

Updating the status on my Hydratree and nails since it looks like another is having an issue. I did receive my replacement nail and while it is a bit shorter, it is still too long to fit the Hydratree. I emailed VXL back and they sent me a pic of them trying out my nail before they sent it out and it fits in their Hydratree. When I saw their picture I saw the problem. Evolver used a combination of US and ISO joints when they made these tubes. My Hydratree is a 19/23 US female joint which is what the top male joint is on the bamboo, a19/23 male.
The Hydratree that they sent the pic of with the nail working has a 19/26 ISO female joint so there is an extra 3 mm of space and that combined with a little higher splashguard in theirs lets the nail work. This is not something you normally notice at a glance and I bet these tubes are already packaged up and just got sent out. And why would they even notice something like that. I wouldn't have if I hadn't had the clearance issue and recently became knowledgeable about US and ISO joint differences.

Bottom line...VXL offered to send me a replacement Hydratree that will work with all old and new nails. They will do the same for anyone having the same issue, I'm sure. I'm actually not going to trade mine out as I have other HTs I like using the nails with and they have plenty of clearance so at least you know you can have my replacement ;-)
My Hydratree will work with the older nails so if I did want to use it I could. But I've become attached to it since I got it and it is an absolute flawless piece of art. The tree is so straight and so close to the sides of the tube that the water is wavy when sitting due to the surface tension and the closeness of the glass. Slo mo vids shows why this thing is so flavorful. Amazing design. I didn't even like tree percs before this. This thing is a different story.

Awesome. I'm much happier after reading that post despite how annoying and inconvenient this is.
I've been hesitant to write about my last situation with VXN since I'm not here to say ANYTHING disparaging about the Evo or VapeXhale as a company... I happen to really enjoy their vapes :) And now that VX has made me whole (thanks to their customer support team) I thought I would share my story as its applicable to the topic, not as a rant :)

It's most certainly annoying and inconvenient to receive a product that does not fit and could have been a simple catch in QA. Talk to me after you've waited over 6 months for a working pair of Quartz VapeXnails that you purchased after seeing those beautiful round-bottom, fuller-looking VXN's here on FC, back in February this year. (Primarily, I was seeking a better fitment then the glass VXN's which seemed to have gotten a little thinner and narrower, hoping for better performance with the more accurately shaped Quartz.)

It goes a little beyond annoying and inconvenient when you receive a pair of defective nails for which there will be no replacement for several months, then finally receive the nails to fix it which are defective and for which there will be no replacement for several months. It becomes slightly frustrating when those nails don't fit and you wait more months.

This is an issue they have been aware of since at least March 2015 when I brought the mis shaped VXN's to their attention, yet over the next six months I guess they still haven't been able to begin testing out VXN's for proper fitment inside a bamboo and for clearance at the joint of a hydratube before mailing them out. They could save money, seriously decrease customer frustration and increase satisfaction levels by creating a testing jig for VapeXnails and checking fitment before shipping them out.

Their customer support staff are a true pleasure to work with; they seemed to happily put up with a guy like me and ensured that I was sent out a new pair with each batch of Quartz produced, and I am thrilled to report even though they don't much resemble the original round-bottom, tight-fitting product I tried to purchase originally, I do have two VXN's made of quartz that fit into my EVO and beneath my Hydratubes 7 months later.

Throughout the quartz situation I had plenty of glass VXN's on hand so it was NOT like my EVO was out of commission and of course it was seeing PLENTY of use with flowers and ELB's. And, I hope my post comes across as I intend; a report on a past issue that's been totally solved by their customer service, and a suggestion for making this problem go away in the future.

I was wondering if this was a HT issue. I looked at the 2 nails I have (1 came with the EVO, the other was sent with the Evolver Hydratree with a note saying "sorry shipping was delayed a day, here's a free nail & a snack" (pretzels.) The 1st nail is shorter and the top looks to be cut off or ground, as it's not level. The new one is level and taller, but still clears the HT no problem. I compared the female joint setup between the Evolver and the Swagger pieces I have & noticed the Evolver is a couple mm's shorter.

Had my replacement Evo nearly a week now- after the first one offed itself after a day of usage.

Glad that I purchased my unit from @VapeFiend.com ; they really came through and gave me many options to have my unit replaced . In the end I ended up just paying for another unit and getting a refund on the faulty unit when they received it in the post.

Can confidently say that this is my favorite way of using flowers. Soo efficient and soo powerful. I have horrible anxiety issues and always have a hard time getting to sleep , but this thing is making me go to bed earlier and earlier every night.

I also have now had the opportunity to try this unit dry and with water filtration. I definitely prefer it with a Hydra-Tube; longer hits and just more enjoyable for the ritual of a bong smoker.

Extracts everything out of your material very well especially in lower amounts . Which is perfect for me as I just prefer to have very little every couple of hours. Took me a long time to write this, seen a lot of draft saved notifications .

In short this unit has exceeded my expectations; It is worth the money and wait or whatever obstacle stands in your way to get it.

I made them aware of the nails as soon as the first post about them here hit. I'm waiting to get an explanation from them of the problem and what to do about it.

I am not aware of any new models, desktop or portable, that are anywhere near even prototyping, so I wouldn't hold out for that.

Don't forget to save an extra 10% with the code!

@New_buddy - I feel you! Nothing like having all that concentrate just staring at you. And you clearly could use a hit! I'll take one here for you...

. . . Have VXL announced a NEW DESKTOP?? I was certain that their next plan was a portable...?

Someone linked the Vapexhale user page of a site similar to LinkedIn. They are working on a digital Evo and a portable. Forgot to mention that info on the new products were few, no names, no pics.

I expect the new desktop will be cool, but we don't know when it's coming or exactly what the upgrades are. What we do know, IMO (that's a tricky, messed up turn of phrase but I'm not editing again) is that the EVO cannot be beaten at this price. I opted for one not long ago at a very good price. This sale is better.

Actually VXL has been working on several projects, as to be expected. There is no public info on these; VXL learned the hard way about getting out in front of itself (as those who have been here since the OG can testify to). The various sales being run are part of another strategy altogether. IMO @KimDracula's advice is good.

Really happy with the EVO, it helped me quit smoking for good. However I do not find it to be quite as efficient as advertised. Anyone else find this?

Congratulations on fucking that combustion for good! As far as efficiency, we'll need more info re your definition and why you feel it's coming up short. New users often undergo a short learning curve to understand the EVO's subtleties and to nail down their preferred technique.

I've no intent to stir up the hornet's nest, but I would like to add that I agree with the replies from @alltoreup and @Seek. It is not all that uncommon that a product upgrade (the new nail) has an obscure incompatibility with another previous generation component (the Evolver). They both are to spec, and in this case, usually do work together. But even large manufacturers sometimes miss an incompatibility like this. And btw, in consumer electronics manufacturers do only sample testing of components/accessories, and final test is typically quite basic. Building tooling and performing testing for all permutations is cost-prohibitive and was largely discontinued decades ago; that drives costs/prices down. All that said, of course it is VXL's responsibility and the measure of the company is in the quality of its response to a customer's legitimate complaint.

EDIT: And @stickstones, who, as usual, said it well.

@oldiebutgoodie As an employee of a vaporizer company I know all too well the unforeseen incompatibilities that can arise over time. A price to be paid for continual improvements and innovations...

A great test of a company is indeed in how they support their customers experiencing problems, and I truly feel VapeXhale's CS team honestly values customer happiness and satisfaction. Their CS team has gone MILES beyond my expectations to fix problems in the past.

I'm about to fire er up :) beautiful looking glass....before I go all in, I do have a question regarding the VXNs....is there supposed to be space between the top of the Nail and the Hydratube. Mine is resting on top of the nail, no extra space really...harder to draw from and there is maybe like 1-3 mm of exposed glass on the male joint with the nail in....is all this kosher? The top of the nail isn't perfectly flush either, I suspect it may be on purpose (airflow) tho I really have no idea.

Would of thought nothing of it if not for the concerns expressed earlier today

Nope the HT should not sit on the nail it should rest on the male joint of the bamboo. looks like you got one of the Hydratree like alltoreup and New_buddy.
I would get a ticket going and would stay with dry herb. If you got any adapters that provide you enough space you might give it a try this way.

Anyone out there offer a comparison between the boro and quartz VXN's?
