I have the same turbine hydratube, but mine has the logo printed in 3 colours
I see a couple of crooked parts in mine as well, but the only part I wonder about are the turbine slots as some look almost sealed
The slots on your turbine look like they're more open than mine - does water get stuck in the upper chamber on yours?
No water get stuck in the upper chamber.
If some vape shop has a good connection for China glass, they could start producing Hydratubes with no one guessing they are not legit, if this is the level of quality check.

I'm constantly having to tip mine to the sides to get the water back down.

I'm having fun tasting some different strains with my EVO today.. I managed to pickup some chocolope, lemon og, sour kosher, golden lemons, and holy grail :)
I foresee myself not doing anything productive for the rest of the day :p :science:

@justcametomind same thing here ... bottom joint isn't centered and also a little bit tilted ... but since it's hand made i wont argue about that. On my 200 bucks Pulse Glass AC Bubbler the top male joint is also tilted :suspicious::goon: as it is not changing the function it wont bother me that much.

Regarding the logo, it looks like you got one of the gold edition HT'S just like me don't think it is cheaper to print (or gold plating) it like this. Sad to say that there are little bits off the plating already peeling off on my piece too, not as much as on yours (one month of use).

@scottg402 saw the pics of your honeycomb + BaseBomb combo earlier in the thread. could you give me a little comparison between the two in therms of draw resistance (flow). Got the Honeycomb and don't want to have a much higher restriction to the flow. So if you would take the honeycomb as a reference and tell me how much they differ or how much drag would be added by coupling the BaseBomb to it, would help me make a decision on buying the base.

With my family life here I don't use the base a lot. I typically only pull out for special occasions when I have guests. Ironically last night was one of those occasions but we really didn't use the EVO without the full setup. That said it doesn't add much drag at all! The HydraHoneyComb is pretty free flowing (not quite as much as my old Hydraline but pretty close) and the difference with adding the base is negligible. You can still rip that thing as hard as you want without feeling restricted or bogged down. The base gives it an added level of diffusion for some if the smoothest vapor hits I have ever had. Period.

Plus that piece just looks cool as shit when it's all put together. I use a cloud buddy to make for easier clearing and it's mesmerizing to whitewall all three sections of that glass. Just plan ahead when clearing because there is a lot of volume!

@Pyr0 That's the design of the Turbine I believe. I can't speak on all, but I had a Swagger Turbine edition Hydratube and it performed the same with holding water up top until the tilt. That however was a Steve Bates approved design. If I'm not mistaken I believe he was the inventor. I do agree QC should be practically flawless at these price points. I recall buying my Mobius Ion Matrix from ALT. The salesman I spoke with was extremely excited about how beautiful my piece was. Once i received it i saw a truly flawless piece of art. I assumed all American glass represented that standard. I quickly found it's just a flip of the coin be it China or America. I will say that most of my American glass is pristine and flawless. That being said so is most of my China glass. Function on any glass is most important to me. As long as it functions properly I'm cool. I bought a SSFG Hydraline from MassDrop. This is thick quality American Glass. However the neck comes up at an angle, the perc slits are uneven lengths but it functions flawlessly so considering i paid 160 for it i thought who cares!
Edit: I also have the VAPEXHALE Turbine and it performs the same
@oldiebutgoodie gave me my introduction to
glass in a short P.M tutorial where he also warned me of G.A.S! 30 plus pieces later, function on glass is my vice. I know that if i only had a couple of pieces or this was my first serious piece I'd be pissed at any flaws!

The gold logos rub off extremely easily. The UK ones seem to have different colored ones. I noticed the logo on the base of my HT rubbing off within a few days. The one on the sidecar mouthpiece would have stayed longer because it wasn't getting touched as much, but was just as vulnerable. I scrubbed them off. This is only a minor annoyance. If they're gonna put those on there I'd rather they leave them off.

As far as water getting "stuck" in the upper chamber of the Turbine, I wouldn't worry about that. The same thing happens with the Hydrahoneycomb, too. They are very similar and it only takes a tilt (or another pull) for things to get back to normal. It seems like this is always going to happen with those ledges and the honeycomb. It doesn't seem like a flaw. The holes in the barrel, while of different sizes, have a regular pattern to them and it functions well.

Saw a few people ask about cheap HT alternatives don't know if it has been mentioned before but sine supply on original vxh HT in europ is a bit limited (best place to get one here might be vapefiend) though i might share this one. (don't want to advertise here!)

Yes, that looks like a copy of the VapeXhale hydravirc 2.0 design. I have that one (the original) and it's great. But this one looks it may not be able to sit on top of the EVO because that input joint looks too deeply recessed. There's like 6 milimeters on glass below it, that's too much.

Just spotted this one on there too:

I think it looks like a bit like a Swagger SideCirc

Looks like that one in the vid is the one @MichaelCompton was talking about, with the male joint on top for a mouthpiece or another tube.

So my VB2 gave out on Friday. No big deal. Still got the EVO with my VXN so I was enjoying a couple really nice low temp concentrate hits (tiny fingernail-clipping sized shards of some very nice Grape Kush live resin). I had one and cleaned the nail and put in a second... almost. The resin got stuck inside the upper lip of the smile opening so I had to move it around to the bottom. It got stuck on the upper edge of the lower lip. Then I noticed that some had stretched over the outside. "Okay," I thought to myself, "Let's be smart. This has to be cleaned now. I can't put this in the EVO." I congratulated myself silently in noticing this and not being stubborn. This lasted about thirty seconds because while trying to fish out the tiny bit of resin (stubbornly) with a metal dab tool, I made an unfortunate twist and busted the VXN. D'oh. Oh yeah, it's glass. Just when I was feeling smart. The upside is that I got free shipping on the two-pack I just bought. It would have been five dollars more tomorrow (expires midnight tonight if anyone was planning on buying anything).

Does anyone prefer the quartz nails? If so, why? They don't really try to sell you on them on the site. Are they just more durable?

You can use ANY 18mm piece as an alternative to an HT. I have a straight 12 inch turbine I bought at a head shop and use it all the time with my EVO. In some ways I prefer it.

You do NOT need to spend $250+ on a HT if you're reserved. I don't regret my honeycomb. It's a beautiful piece and it sure as shit impresses my friends. But it isn't required.

My cheaper piece is easier to keep clean and maintain. The HT is a smoother hit with less gurgle. Both do the job just fine and both have a very important place in my collection :)

I love my Turbine HT. Definitely don't mind when the water separates into the upper part of the perc - it looks sweet. By far the smoothest hitting piece I've used before, actually. I definitely feel like these tubes elevate it to a very luxurious experience.

I definitely prefer using my EVO with the turbine HT rather than inverting it on my bubbler :)
I just wish they were in addition to the dry mouthpiece and also cheaper so I could try more than one :D lol

My Evolver HydraTree arrived today and I am shocked. Not joking.

This piece is incredibly smooth, barely less than my Hydraline and better than the Evolver circ that I had. The diffusion is magnificent, better than the Hydraline. It has a more narrow neck with a perfect mouthpiece. It changed my draw and whitewalls more easily. And the piece is flawless and solid; the engraved logo is cool.

Exceeded my expectations.

Glad you are enjoying it. Wish I could have been in the list of people doing so with the discounted price. I couldn't notice any international shipping to uk though...:hmm:

Have spotted a swagger sidetree. But it's expensive. Like everything in the uk...hmmm looking forward too seeing more reviews of this thing though. Looks a beast

I'm so jealous. FedEx is taking their sweet time getting me mine. I'm sure it'll be worth it though. Glad you like it :D

My 220V IGG Evo has started getting real hot. I'm not sure if its common but my bamboo glass is often glowing orange with heat, and it com busts the herb when it happens. I'm pretty sure its overheating.

This has happened at least 5 times now that I have noticed. The first time I noticed the glow the temp led was green but the bamboo was glowing red hot. I have also seen it glowing hot with a red led, I was unable to find green anywhere on the temp dial so i presume the red led indicated the vape heater was cooling/waiting to get back to a green temp.
The first time It glowed I freaked out and turned it off. Every other time I have noticed it glowing I turn the temp dial down and it seems to get the message and cool down.

Bamboo is still intact and airtight however its looking a little different, I'm worried the heat is doing some damage and it's going to melt down like my first release 220v evo. So not very comfortable leaving it unattended.

I've always had the fast green led blink, requiring me to wait till the unit cools to restart, really annoying!

I get the red and green led flash but the unit never shuts down, it will stay flashing to infinity, or until I kill the power.

I get another light sequence now of 4 red blinks then a pause?

Shame she feels like its playing up, the unit had been working fine since I finally got it in April this year. Gonna contact the supplier but was wondering if glowing hot bamboos were common or its definitely overheating?

And I have forgotten what warranty The Indiegogo 'Early bird' contributors were promised. I only received it this April so it should be covered. Was it 2 years warranty?

Mine still does the rapid flashing green led, but so far only when using it with the dial set to 2 or above and it's been on for a good while.
I tried setting the dial to 12 o'clock and turning it on & off multiple times to reset it, but to no avail.
When it happens, it always needs switching off for a minute or two before it will work again.

Also, just a quick thank you to @VapeFiend.com for replacing my squashed ELB as it was starting to come apart at the seam.
