Yes. The hydratube would just be adding volume for you at that point. IMO the mouthpiece is big enough volume for a big hit.

That being said, have you tried a hydratube with water?

Yes my whole reason for buying this vaporizer was because of its ease of use with water. I've been hitting it dry now for a couple months. It's not harsh and the flavor

Here is a vid I put together over a @Deadshort480

do not load concentrate from the top!!
load concentrate at the loading slit at the bottom instead. thats what its there for.
that way it wont have a chance to stick to the upper sides and not vape properly (possibly leaking into the bamboo).

and turn down your temp, its up too high, you are burning the concentrate (its black in the middle and should be golden).

Man this is what I have been missing all these years, damn.
Definitely received a cooler running unit.
As Herbalizer says, Welcome to Flavor Town!
My side circ is different from one on massdrop/vapexhale website and has a few imperfections.
Need way more than 2 ELBs and a cleaning brush

A lot more to come.

ALT sells similar sized glass adapters for $17-28 each so I wouldn't say it's ridiculous for what you're getting. But given the cost of the glass in the kit it would be nice if they could offer people the option to select just the adapter sizes they want so they don't pay for unneeded extras. People without pendant rigs probably won't use the 10mm one and if you have 18mm male joints on all your pieces you'd either need two kits or an extra adapter.

The side circ I'd ordered has no phallic mp , and I would prefer it that way .
What kind of imperfections are you talking about ?
It looks pretty good in the pic , and I see you already have a stand for your
HT . Mine's in Transit from PA from a couple days ago .

I guess you could call them cosmetic imperfections. A few small bubbles in the mouth piece and there is a flea bite looking thing under the circ perc. Can't get a good pic right now.

Already cleaned my 2 ELBs once with ISO then toaster to dry off.

I'm vaping flower at about 2:30 on the dial.

My first two bowls ABV wasn't dark enough for my liking. Combined them into one Herbalizer bag at 445F resulted in very very thin vapor. The Cloud can def extract and taste amazing.

Need to mess with more temps.

Did I mention the taste? It really shames Sublimator in that department. Gonna need some more hydratubes and a whole army of ELBs.

Edit. The unit feels very hot, even with wristbands, to the point where it can't be picked up. I don't seem to be getting the HT to milk even at 3:00. I'm doing everything correctly ELB wise.

Edit again. Just looks like I found a crack in my hydratube :( Fuckin a. If I saw glass with these flaws for $250 or any price at a local shop, I would not purchase. Some glassblower gets in the weeds for a big order and QC gets shit on.

@Pappy posted some YouTube video with the first - and much heavier - Cloud using glass that has a 45 joint and also using a 45 adapter on a tight vertical joint. just search for ClubMJW. When he made those vids, the CloudBuddy was not yet available. I have a couple tight pieces, and the CB works perfectly for those; a 45 adapter also works but the CB is much better.
:myday:
Greetings my FC buddies, I still lurk here. And I still use 45 degree adapters with my EVO, Cloud, Solo, and entire glass collection. Adapters are indispensable IMO. Anyone into glass should have an adapter set notwithstanding a Cloud Buddy. The CB qualifies and is in fact an adapter. ;)

Just took a rip at 3:00. After I took the rip the bamboo flashed red/green, then stayed red for a few seconds then went back to green. Translation? Something to do with turbo mode?

The unit is hot and auto turn off time is not near.
My ABV from the 12:00 dial and 3:00 look pretty similar. I am about to try 4:00oclock. I high!y doubt I will combust or even get darker ABV. The shell seems to be heating up a lot. I moved the wirstbands down a bit, which helped.

If you were using a vapeXnail, that's normal.
When you put a cold nail in, it can suck in a lot of heat, so much that it makes the unit go red and reheat a bit to go back to green.
If not, it could be an temp overshoot, which is less normal, but still benign.
Temp overshoots only happen when the unit just heated up and went green.
Sometimes the heat for heat up is a little too much and the temp goes over the green to the red and then back.

If you were using an ELB on a stable green, then I don't know, maybe you can pull a lot. When so much air is drawn through the temp can go slightly down making the LED red.
But I think you need some serious lung power and capacity for this, if even possible.

I was using the ELB on a steady green. I am not Michael Phelps by any means.

One time it went straight red, no flashing, stayed for a few seconds then went back green.

Power code doesn't seem loose.

I just did an ELB at max temp. Didn't even come close to combusting. The bowl kicked in about 2 Rips.

Is it normal to be vaping at max temp just to get a Lil milk? Seems like its defective. :(

I apologize for posting alot. Never have used a Cloud before, and am worried my new baby is sick along with my brand new cracked hydratube its not looking good. Pray with me. More ELBs incoming.

Edit. Seems to be doing some light shit every hit now :( I researched the flashing and it does not seem normal. Just went red for about 5 seconds then flashed, then went back to green.

I have held off on this purchase for a year because I was worried with problems. Then I get hit with a double whammy. :(

Up Until this afternoon, never have used a Cloud, I became a believer in the EVO. She just needs a Lil tune up and the glassblower needs improved QC.

If you want more glass you should consider the Mobius Clear bubbler with either the Matrix or Reti perc or the smaller Ion ones. Pairs perfectly with the Evo and gives an ultra smooth hit while still letting enough flavour through and you can easily get brown avb without pulling too hard. I find it milks up much easier than the hydratubes. I got the Matrix Clear shortly after the Evo to use with flowers, which works great. but I mostly use it for oil hits through my whip. I have a sensitive throat and I usually only feel irritation towards the end of the oil hit when the harsher components start to vaporize.

For me I usually vape flower at around 12 ish and get noticeable vapor, I kick it up to 2-3 for some thicker vapor but never tried max temp. I found that I wont get any visible vapor until I feel the whole unit has fully heated up, I usually grab the outside of the unit around where the heating element is and when that is really hot I know Ill be getting some good rips going. I never get any vapor when the light is green but the outside of the unit is cold. Not sure if that helps but maybe just leave the unit on for a bit longer until it fully heats up, then try taking some long hits to get the vapor going first.

Or some DHGate bubblers which will save you hundreds of $$$

@Been Vapin you're experience somewhat matches mine when I first tried the EVO. It is alot more sensitive to technique IMO, and the water tool does seem to matter. I too had several quality issues with glass HT's from VXL...the best were Evolver IMO. None were serious (flea bites, cosmetic imperfections) and VXL made right every single time.

Try to slow down your draw if you haven't done so already. The blinking led's i've seen in a video here and there, but never experienced myself when using the EVO. I wonder if your bamboo is slightly out of tolerance, or maybe you have a firmware glitch.

My personal opinion and feelings are that the EVO isn't a step up over the Cloud. My Cloud+ hits the temps absolutely anywhere I want, especially that upper range which I didn't think the EVO could match up to. Furthermore, the Cloud+ doesn't even get hot on the shell like the EVO, nor need a neoprene sock or wristbands. I long for an EVO that isn't polycarbonate....I like the quality and feel of the steel, and especially the fact that I don't burn myself (yes, i've literally received a 1st degree burn from holding the EVO a bit to long in my palm, ouch!), and the airflow is better so I can rip it as hard as I can for instant milky goodness.

On the other hand, there are so many improvements in the EVO as well. The ability to fix the bamboo, removable cord, and...i'm sure i've overlooked some of the others. It's a bit of a toss up in my mind, and I do think the EVO CAN get BETTER.

Damn you, party liquor
I got my mass drop delivery yesterday! Side circ HT has the flared MP. I'm fine with it because the flare is small. If it was as large as the dry MP from the Cloud I woulda been pissed. I hate that MP on that thing. Two tiny chips on the lower slits from the cuts in the lower chamber, but it is hard to see, and the flawlessness of the rest makes up for it. No bubbles anywhere. Showerhead slits are perfectly aligned and it hits soooo smooth.
I have a cloud+ so I have something to compare the EVO to and after the first night it appears to be an improvement. ABV seems lighter but i am running it at a lower spot on the dial than I did the +. Results? Medicated to death. More testing to come:brow:

I still can't get over the lightness of the EVO. Wow. I swear I think my solo weighs more. Definitely makes me feel better about using it inverted. I did notice that it will milk my Colie gridded upline much easier than the HT, using the same temp and flowers so it could have to do with airflow of glass pieces as well.

I'm off to the Caribbean in about 10 minutes:rockon: Stay vaped! Catch you in a week!

Don't you think that such a fragile high end device should have a bit more weight to it to prevent being yanked to the floor? This is another reason I like the feel/heft of the original steel shell. Further to that, IMO the design is intended to be used upright with HT's, over inverted usage, which can kind of be attested to the odours recently. Use it upright as intended, no odour. Use it inverted for too long, and there can be odour. I personally only use the cloud+ inverted, since I don't have a HT and have no issues, the weight makes no difference in my use, so I guess it depends on the glass you use. Everyone has their opinion, but I still maintain an affinity for the original shell design. The + has been on for over an hour, and it's just comfortably warm, at 2:00...I also love the 90 min. timer, another thing I wish the EVO had.

Do you find you can extract faster with the cloud+? I guess it's this meme of the abv colour that I can't get over...but will have to, since the herbalizer does the exact same thing. Maybe it's time to rethink things, fortunately i'll be able to try the herbalizer and maybe EVO again tomorrow thanks to our forum bro @lazylathe!

My bottom slits are also chipped on my SideTree. I also notice some of the glass bead drips on the inside wall of the device. Seems to function okay though.

I am enjoying the Cloud Evo overall.

I always felt like the more I turned the knob the faster it would heat up...

So now I warm my evo by attaching the knob to one of these machines!

I agree with @newVaper420, submit a Support ticket straightaway. It's not uncommon for a new user to work through his/her issue with only coaching from Support. But if replacement is required, VXL has typically been very responsive. IIRC VXL posted recently that their reject rate is running ~4%, you may have hit some bad luck. :ugh:

so much butthurt in this post. let the hate flow through you lol

meanwhile, hundreds of EVO owners quietly vape away with no issue, enjoying ridiculous (unmatched?) extraction and vapor quality. I've got no dog in the fight, as I hold no financial stake in the company. All I can say is I love their products and support

anyway, @biohacker - I do not find that my cloud + extracts faster. I have done numerous side by side tests using different glass and different strains. the result is that my cloud + has been retired. vapor quality is just better with the EVO, and extraction is as good or maybe better in my experience. the design of the bamboo is totally different

Thanks for everyone for their help and suggestions. I opened a support ticket immediately last night. Did a bunch of reading and experimenting. The light issue after taking a hit doesn't seem normal from my understanding, and has happend to another FC member. It has only done it once today. Last night it was every hit and the body of the EVO was stupid hot. Today it seems to be much cooler, even after being on for hours. My bamboo seems to be a real whistler. It looks good, is sealed, and is not rattling.

Now the good news.
Took a big pile of EVO ABV, put it in Herbalizer bag at 445F again, barely any visible vapor.
It is normal for the EVO not to combust at max temp
I heat soaked for am good 50 min on max, turned down to 3:00, slowed my draw down, throttled/sealed the bottom bamboo, and got a nice milky hit. Did another pack at and hit at each 12,2,4,max tempwith the same technique. Finally got a different color ABV. Got great flavor and effects.

Pretty much it seems I need to finger carb the bottom bamboo to get milk. Still haven't tried it with anything other than then Mini SideCirc.

Edit. Just got a little crazy on max temp and some finger carving. I combusted. Fuuuuuuucccck. The taste is not good lol. Time for ISO.

thank you for posting the results of these experiments. you are confirming my suspicion that dark ABV is not necessary for a good extraction

I have never combusted in my EVO (or my Cloud+ for that matter), including at max. maybe if I overfilled an ELB it would be possible... I don't care to find out. by the way, I don't find max heat to be very useful for flower as I find it just strips flavor and the vapor gets a little hot. 2:30-3:00 is as high as I ever go (and that's rare). I can get serious milk at 1:00, which is where I usually hang out
