Pretty sure the VXL recommendation is no inverters and no converters and if you search the thread for converter you'll get a couple hits.

Here's the reference on the VXL site:

#12: "The EVO is a high heat device and should not be used with any type of power inverter or converter."

Here's the link: https://www.xhl3.com/pages/safety-instructions?_pos=1&_sid=1ad101252&_ss=r

thanks for the info! I did a search of the thread and found an incident a few years ago where European customers were sent 110V units and a really powerful converter. I've also found a few posts of users abroad who have found converters that are powerful enough, so i'm hoping i can get those users to chime in

Great feedback @Baron23 .

Great info @SatanLovestoVape . My ELB lids get loose over time but I took the forum advice and gently press down on the mesh screen to flatten/widen them a bit; the lid then seals like new again.

 @ataxian. This Saturday I added a microdab session of Armageddon shatter, later followed with a bigger session of Super Lemon Haze live resin :luv:. The live resin dab was potent ;). Then some first low temp draws of that previous last 1/3 ELB of quality Blue Dream flower went next .

Enjoy the power of the EVO :peace::leaf:

I've been using my RBT Drydrotube on my Evo when I want to get real flavor. I love my dhgate Hydrotube, and just had to replace my old one. I've got a turbine in the way, so I'll post up some shots once I have em.

IIRC the problem with the Evos overseas had something to do with not only voltage, but Hz as well. I'm no electrician or anything, but apparently Hz makes a difference and could meltdown the unit if the numbers don't jive. My memory is kinda hazy on the subject because.... well because pot. :p

Do owners here typically inhale dry vapor with the EVO? Or use a wet hydratube or bong? Or both ways?
After this post, I tried my Helio, but it was too short. Then I was thinking about throwing my broken Lynx in the trash since it leaks water regardless of fill. Somehow @CANtalk post came in my head about using mouthpieces dry. I combine my Lynx to the Helio and discovered it was a perfect reach to my mouth, similar to a Hydratube. It is now my official dry mouthpiece set. I still use my Hydratube wet. I do not like using a whip connected to a bong since it produces less vapor. Thank you, @CANtalk for preventing me from throwing away my broken Lynx.

so i'm very happy etc. i mostly use my favorite water device to cool things. as i'm stoneilly starting at my stuff, i wondered what it would be like to go through 2 of my water pipes. well, it's fantastic.

i was taking even bigger tokes than with just one. so i'm watching a movie and taking tokes without thinking. and i turned the temp up from my typical 350ish to 380 or so.

well, i got so fucking high, that i got the racing heartbeat and panic attack that only happens to me if i eat and smoke too much .

the bud is only 18% thc , i'm usually toking on 25 and up % . and it's a cross, not a "pure" sativa.

do i have another glass piece i could hook up? nope, i've got 3. and plenty of hoses and connnectors. i won't actually use that many for normal session but i'm curious . :)

wish me luck. YOLO?

oh, and i have a basic size ball of shatter that i use. with .05 of shatter, i make 5 to 6 little tiny balls of goodness. if i could make them smaller , i would. this beast is so efficient. \

Mehh. My green led seems like it just died. I still get the red heat up then nothing. Thought my unit turned off. Anyone ever see this? Fixxable?
Finally getting a real hydratube. Been playing w a vaporblunt dlx tube and broke it in less than a week? completely my fault. But luckily the guy im getting it from has one of those too. So it will be back. Kinda want one for flower one for concentrate anyway. Been using a old little snorkle rig w tubing and adapters. works but I hate tubing. Still kinda iffy on temp as I don't see much of a varianece between 12 and 3oclock. Other than that works for me. Dont think anything will ever state the VAS tho

The LEDs are accessible if you open the unit and look like they could by replaced by user with a soldering iron. (Although I never got to the other side of the PCB and don't know how you could get there, but replacing them with an access to just this side might be possible). Of course any of that would void your warranty so it's on you what you decide.

public service announcement:::

i was using some garbage called Rez block. it was supposed to keep the glass clean. it has stained a couple areas of my favorite water pipe. a sicky pink color. i soaked the pipe in grunge off and it''s still nasty looking.

4 connected water pipes was too much.

i forgot why i made this thread until now.
i have purchased 14 baskets. i have 4 of the tops. FOUR! i know i stepped on a couple but damn. that's bad even for me.

i also bought a pack of 5 glass tubes and can't find 2 of them that are still in the box.

i just found this amusing for some reason.

they are here somewhere or got caught up in my of my clean the area moods.
but where...where?

fracking gremlins strike again.

oh, and i had a nice long newest dynavap omni and i can't find that thing either. it had the concentrate thing in it too.

i might be getting too medicated. or too old. or too old and medicated???

it's embarrassing. :)

Anywhere without a cloud evo
The EVO is an end game vape .

Just now starting to look at and learn about the EVO.
. Good luck and ask away. I did that over Christmas last year here and went with the EVO over all other vape options, regardless of price. The EVO is an intriguing end-game evape design and option with its own advantages and disadvantages. And it hits a sweet spot for me .

Multi-piece water conditioning has been a thing for some with the EVO and it's always impressive with many great pictures out there . That's too much cleaning for me , but it sounds great :). Post pics!

@Xclerk, sorry to hear about the LED failure. It's been reported here before the odd time. It's fixable generally, either by VapeXhale or if out of warranty potentially by yourself (depending on your repair and soldering skills). As for temp and vapor variability, what are you using for ELB amounts? At 1/3 or less ELB volume, the EVO can easily be less temperature sensitive between 12 and 3 on the dial (because the ELB is so large in volume that the ground flower circulates around the ELB for much of the draw. The opposite happens when the ELB is full (or near full).
EVO heater variability has been reported here for a number of years, but there are lots of variables too. It's good feedback and I'd recommend some more sampling; go with less temp on the dial if that hits the zone for you (e.g., 9 to 10 o'clock) or higher than 3 o'clock on your unit if you think the ELB has more to give. Find your optimal experience, regardless of settings. Good luck. The EVO is all I need for an at-home vape .

LOL at ur last post @stressed. Been there with cannabis forgetfulness. I have no problem with ELB lids here, though I misplaced two glass tubes that I haven't found in over a month yet . Still ripping the EVO :science:. And eyeing cheap DHgate glass tubes :sherlock:.

Happy EVO Friday everyone . The EVO s awesome here . I went with a 1/3 ELB of strong quality Strawberry Cough sativa flower :leaf:. So potent :haw::science:. A friend visited, finished the ELB, so I reloaded the ELB with the same 1/3 amount and strain. About 7 hrs later I've been able to post :lol:.

Cheers to exploring the cannabis path

. For a late sesh, I switched to a small ELB of Blue Dream to ride into the night. Blue dream is a great late night sativa leaning strain , high CBD too :luv:.

Enjoy your EVO Friday :peace::leaf:.

Man I know the feeling! I actually lost all of my tops and now I can't use my EVO until I buy some more baskets... I found a site before that was selling cheaper versions of the baskets, but I can't seem to find it anymore! Anyone know where to get baskets for cheaper than $5 a pop?

The VapeXhale EVO kills again . Yesterday was great. It was a slow start to the day but the EVO delivered with a small ELB of Acapulco gold strain, followed by a small ELB of Blue dream strain a few hours later. That hit the spot nicely  and then I went with concentrates with the glass nail in the EVO . Armageddon strain shatter (strong sativa). Great flavors. And again I find concentrates have more narcotic effects; flower is king for full spectrum stimulation with sativa strains. Enjoyable :). An hour or two later I did some session draws to finish off a near full ELB of flower that was left over from last night. It was the high temp finish for me (~ 2 o'clock on the dial). It blew clouds for multiple draws. Very satisfying; the EVO is an extraction machine . A few hours later I went with a another small ELB hit, this time Afghan Kush to bring me down for a great indica end to the evening and eventual sleep, which I need :). The EVO is great and so flexible :peace::leaf:. Enjoy Saturday here.

@stressed, thx for the feedback! The EVO is great . I lost my two new tubes to somewhere in the house too :lol:. Hope that cleaning gets sorted. I've never lost a lid to the ELB... yet. It sounds like the EVO is getting you medicated for sure . That's the goal :peace: and the EVO is excellence. It's great where one's issue from a vape is ELB lids... not a burn or fire hazard like some other vapes ;). Big experiences are great and many enjoy that. One person on reddit recenty mentions face-planting into the table and breaking his EVO after a draw :science::science:. Forgetting baskets is nothing. And when I read about these stories I think, jeez, I need to hang out with these people .

Sorry to all for conflating Friday and Saturday in my last post; it's a little confusing to read. The detailed feedback was during and for Saturday. I'll add that the light ELB of Afghan kush last night was a great sleep enhancer . And it had very spicy notes in the flavors.

I've been using the EVO enough now over months and months to observe more and here's the latest. I'm still enjoying dry low temp 11 o'clock flower draws at first with the EVO, then going to a wet hydratube to finish the ELB at 2 o'clock or so on the dial. Full flavor first then even better smoothness with the hydratube is a great combination and experience .

I've cycled through a number of strains I have on hand over the last month and have found that some flower is moist enough that the first EVO draw primarily pulls out the moisture before getting much vaporization. I've now found heat soaking the EVO for 5-10 minutes (after it turns green from a cold unit start) is not a big deal with up to a-heavy-1/3 or so ELB load of flower. And I can see how some people will find lighter ELB loads a little less sensitive to the EVO heat settings. @Xclerk, how much do you fill the ELB with flower?

I've also found my EVO concentrates technique has evolved. As I mentioned before, the new VapeXnails I've received over the last few orders are definitely narrower and sit quite loose in the EVO. Now when I drop a nail in the EVO at 12 o'clock on the dial, even with a microdab, the heater LED will change to red indicating temp drop :whoa:, and it takes a number of seconds (15-30) to recover back to the green LED indication. I never had these heat drops before with the wider glass tubes. Because of this, I've resorted to heat soaking the EVO for 10-15 minutes if possible before concentrate use, and I'm going to experiment with a little more temp. I now also take a while longer than before to leave the EVO heating up the concentrates; I don't start in with the first visible whisper of vapor any longer. Waiting another 10 - 15 seconds or so has really benefited the first draw vapor density, where it's always the best for flavor too (temp setting was just over 12 o'clock on the heat dial, or ~ 355 - 360 F. I wonder if VapeXhale changed the tube width on purpose... it's now harder to first draw burn tastes with concentrates, but I've had to change my technique to get the first draw vapor dense and optimized.

Another interesting observation, my EVO is whistling less than ever. It's been in over 7 months of three day per week use now. And the whistle has been more quiet than ever, it comes back a bit from time to time (once or twice a night), but it's actually becoming more the exception than the rule now. I used to see a pattern with how clean/dirty the glass was, but no more. I always thought the EVO whistle condition became fairly baked-in from new and with the first month of use or so tweaking that (sometime better, sometimes worse). At this point 7 months later my EVO whistling continued to evolve and in my case it's notably improved and quieter .

The EVO has crazy efficiency with flower, so much from so little . It's Sunday and late this afternoon I decided I wanted a Blue Dream flower experience. I went with small 1/5 or so ELB of quality flower. The experience was/is top notch :luv:; and the sativa leaning high THC/CBD strain characteristics really work for me  (in the batches I've tried from a good grower). I can use Blue Dream in pretty much any situation comfortably; it's a very flexible strain with a wide range of uses (the sativa leaning phenos). It's a quiet Sunday here, time to relax. Enjoy the EVO :peace::leaf: .

In the Shadows
The pain of choosing a new vape to appease that craziness called VAS is like a rap of a ruler to the knuckles; a gentle tap to the solar plexus. The anticipation of knowing a certain level of remorse will set in confusing right & wrong.
I have settled on an EVO. Thank you all who have shared ideas and experiences in this thread. Such a tremendous help. I have been searching for a heavy hitter while at the same time a "sipper" for my wife who sports delicate lungs and it seems that the community agrees in near unanimousness that the EVO reigns, or close.
The EVO does look last century style and tech with that analog dial, but I still have a SSV with the analog happening also.
Probably order in next couple of days.
