Hey guys, I feel like my new EVO is getting hotter. So for example I have been combusting at 2 o'clock sometimes and I've been starting my sessions at 10 o'clock, but it's milking like I am at 1-2. For the folks where their EVO started overheating, did it start off seeming like the EVO was getting hotter than normal before it overheated completely? This is a bummer
Not for me, the overheat just happens randomly, not gradually.
I think, the EVO regulates its temp relative to ambient temperature, so if a hot summer began in your area, it's possible your EVO will be getting hotter.
Or switching a strain from a weak and fresh to strong and dry can feel like the vape is hotter, dry grounds buds make powerful and somewhat harsh vapors even at low temps.
Damaged bamboo can also make it hotter.
Hmm I do notice sometimes I go from say 10:30 to 11:30 and my EVO just stays green. It doesn't sound exactly the same but I would think the temps would be a little more sensitive than that. Thanks for the response, I'll watch for this stuff. Right now it works fine at 10:30 but after 4 combustion's I am cautious to turn it up past 1.
That can happen, changing the dial only one hour can be too little to make it red. That's doesn't mean the temp control is not sensitive and you haven't changed the temp. It's just the color output of the LED has quite broad range where it shows green. Even if it didn't change color, it will change the temperature as you demanded. But a stuck green LED and no heat is a possibility that was happening to my old unit (the one that was prone to overheats). I don't know if these two glitches (stuck green with no heat, and overheat) are related or not, but my old unit had both of them.
Weird thing just happened with the evo. I turn it on and load up an elb. Go in the other room to do some stuff while letting it heat up for about 10 minutes. Come back and LED is green. Unit feels warm so I insert elb and go to hit it. Didn't feel much warmth at all and didn't exhale any vapor. Well I try again and my hit seems less warm and still no vapor...now I know something is up. So I turn the dial from 12 to 2, and no red LED.....just stays green. It did not appear to be heating up. The LED just stayed green no matter how high I turned the dial.
Anyways I turned it off and unplugged the power cord and let it sit for a few minutes. Plugged it back in and just had a good session so it appears to be working ok now. But I found this very strange....LED was green but it was like it had stopped heating up and would not start back on. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned?
Yes, this sounds exacly like the glitch I've explained. I thought these were solved long ago together with overheats,
Bros! I think I already mentioned this somewhere. never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever pinch your Elbs just don't do it k. they will warp a little if you use very hot water to clean them or arrive partially twisted in the past.
solution : take your hydrafoot or any adapter with a male 18mm and well make it a female. fuck that hole with your Elb and fuck it good. little rotation action you get the picture. should take seconds and you'll be in perfect shape as it will slot into your evo mmmmmmlikeaglove!!
I don't think everyone can do this. Actually I think you're very lucky to have a hydrafoot with the exact same hole as the EVO.I have one hydrafoot that is solid without any hole for an elb. And a econd one with a hole, but not fitting ELBs. And all of the other male joints I have also don't fit ELBs. So, thanks for the tip, but it will probably only work for you and very little for others. Also rotating the ELB is the joint is probably stressful fot it and could break the weld.
