SO many times I have switched it on just to come back in 10 minutes and its magically off. So these two problems combined i am starting to think something is wrong with my unit, I will make asupport ticket. I am just asking here because I want feedback on if I am using the nail wrong.

The reason I still use the nail is because it does give a great hit, but then the oil ends up dripping under it half the time.

Turn your unit to 12 and toggle the switch from on to off a couple of times to reset it. Also it sounds like you're using too much material but i could be wrong about that part

Been away for a long while. I own both an OG ticker and an EVO, and after a long break came back to use the EVO (it hadn't gotten much use since taking advantage of the Indiegogo promotion). I noticed that the vapor output from the EVO can't come close to matching the older unit. I also have to go to 3:00 or higher on the EVO to make much happen (still doesn't match old unit) whereas I'd typically use 10:00 or 11:00 (never going past 12:00 for flowers) on the old one.

I was very excited by the lack of noise and quick heat up times, but have I given up some performance or is the EVO not operating properly? I was hoping the new unit would replace the old one. Where are the thick clouds from the new one? There's no way this thing is going to cut it for concentrates either.

I have the same issue every morning for the past week with the flashing red light, i think it does have to do with the temp change lately, it gets really cold in the morning and i sometime leave a window open. I just have to power it on and off then it heats up as normal the rest of the day. For the vxn search back to some posts by Enchantre, she seems to have the best method i've found so far. Starting with a cold unit power it up to 11-12, once its green toss in the vxn. look straight down into it and watch it melt and vapor start to rise. Put HT on, wait a few seconds, long slow draw will get you close to complete vaporization. Keep an eye on the green light, once it goes red turn the EVO off totally. After your hit turn it back on, crank up to max and burn off residue (takes 1-2 minutes). Doesnt work well for multi dab sessions. I've never had the vapor drift down like that. I'm careful to get all the concentrate to the bottom of the nail, dont overload it and i usually use non gooey material, either solid shatter or cake batters/crumble. I clean the vxn's every 2-3 days with ISO also so theres no residual stuff that can drip off.

I know some may feel it's not necessary, and others may feel it shouldn't be, however I feel the Evo requires more of a inhaling technique vs the simplicity of the Cloud. I find that if you inhale softly for 2 seconds after that you can pull as hard or as softly as you want with MASSIVE CLOUD output. My Cloud can't do What my Evo does when I use this technique. It's a night and day difference when you do this. Just my:2c:

This sounds like my experience when i'm loading too much. In my experience there is a very fine line between the right amount and too much. If you load even a tiny bit more than you're able to hit, it can be messy. I've been using this for quite a while and I still have a challenge consistently loading the ideal amount.

When you are drawing vapor, do you notice the vapor getting quite thin before you clear the tube or does it stay thick up until lifting it?

This sounds like a unit that needs to be sent back in for re-calibration. I know I've read your problem here before several times and a trip back to the maker fixes it.

Have you tried using it after its been on for 30 minutes or more?

I had a similar thought, but no I haven't tried that. I typically only have one session in a day and haven't pre warmed it. Having to consistently do this would surely nullify its warmup speed advantage over the old unit, though.

Anyone know what the typical turnaround time is on support tickets these days? I know the company is far bigger now than when we all bought that first run of clouds ages ago.

Thanks for the tip. I usually use this method on both devices to try to get some initial heat into the ELB before a regular draw. The difference between the devices is still pretty pronounced.

If you had problems since day one and have not talked to customer support and asked for a replacement unit then I think that was the problem. You should have contacted support right away when facing problems...

I'm usually not in a hurry after turning it on, but i think after about 5-10 minutes mine works pretty well. However I always feel like it works better once it's heat-soaked (20 minutes or more)

The EVO is a workhorse. A gorgeous workhorse with all the flexibility I need.
