There's zillions of them on amazon and the bay in all lengths, this one looks light & flexible:Hey everyone been a while since I've posted. I've been on a pretty long t-break but have been enjoying the Evo once again the past few days Quick question does anyone know where I can get a new power cord? My pup decided to chew into mine a bit lol
Anyone have any experience dealing with warranty claims?
I've had minor problems with my unit (e.g., it doesn't always switch on when I click the switch) since purchase. Recently, however, I suddenly started getting combustion at 2 o'clock. After some experimenting, I discovered the temp settings are now about 4 notches off (i.e., 10 o'clock now gets as hot as 2 o'clock).
I contacted warranty support and was told I probably have a cracked tube. I explained that I also have a problem with the switch, but that was ignored. The rep (Benjamin) told me to send in the unit and they will decide whether the broken tube is my fault or a manufacturing defect. If it's my fault, I will have to pay an unspecified repair fee.
Has anyone done this? Any idea how much it will cost and how long it will take? Has anyone successfully obtained a replacement unit, as opposed to a repair?
I have to be honest, I'm not pleased about having to send in my unit for repair. It feels like an attempt to avoid their responsibility under the warranty. I'm also not wild about having to spend more money just a few months after dropping several hundred dollars on the unit itself. But perhaps I'm being paranoid...
EDIT: Sorry, I should have searched the thread before posting. Looks like this is a common problem and they are on the level. However, any info on the repair process would still be welcome.
Has anyone noticed an improvement in the quartz vapexnails vs the regular ones? If so what improvements?
Just figured out a way of collecting the honey that accumulates at the bottom of the HTs. i cut a glass lemonade bottle (Hurbert's Lemonade) to the appropriate height to completely submerge the lower chamber completely with everclear where most of it accumulates. and right now im evaporating off the everclear.
Last time it was only the 110V version that was on massdrop.
Would make sense since the 220V is still in queue
I personally wouldn't want my product being sold in a country it wasnt designed to work in. That could create a negative backlash.
Oh man, that sounds like a good idea too, i might try that method when my HT gets dirty again. but thats pretty smart reusing the everclear untill it has more than one batch of honey. Here is the way I do it. I place a cork in the bottom of the HT, and pour a little Everclear in. I burb a little air out by removing the cork so that alcohol gets into the lower part. I place the HT in a glass mug and give some 5 second bursts in the microwave just to heat the alcohol. Shake glass, collect liquid for subsequent cleanings I have a little jar in which I keep my "reclaim" dissolved in 90% Everclear. This last batch I added to my coconut oil/AVB concoction so that my cookies are super couch-locky. I've re-vaped it, too.
This is only good advice if you are a fan of very expensive paper weights. There's more to it that the voltage conversion unfortunately. I'd wait for VXL to figure out all the issues first. If you are international and dying for an Evo I say just import a 110v model and get a step down transformer.

Ah, I was under the impression it just ran off 120v ac and could be run thru a step down like a nano could be,
