Something tells me that these bamboos are not of the same quality as the originals. I do not recall so many broken bamboos until the EVO arrived. You might have had a broken one here or there... but these new bamboos seem to too easily broken IMHO. Still no response to my support ticket...

Edit: My ticker will never leave my sweaty palms.... love that thing! I want to love the EVO.... I really do.

I think it's because there are a lot more EVOs out there and they all entered the market relatively quickly compared to the original ticker.

I'd be curious to hear some more opinions on the EVO vs the Ticker.

VHL please fix your support ticket system. You open a ticket and it asks you some basic information which includes the serial #. You wait for a response only to hear the following... and not to quote the email for privacy purposes it went something like this... Thanks for opening the ticket. Can you tell us your serial # and we will send you the return address. .... But didn't I enter that when i opened the ticket? Anyway serial # sent again and the wait for a response begins again... Very inefficient! And please don't come to me to beat up the messenger as I am only sharing MY experience with the EVO.

Not a SINGLE 220v EVO unit working correctly after months of "testings" and "quality assurance" on VXL side. ALL of the shipped EVOs have the "red light issue" which causes overheating and bamboo orange glowing/breakage.

Although people begged for the 110v version it was not possible to order it internationally.
Stonemonkey, you should be ashamed of yourself... seriously.

Seems like the concentrate ELB is taking it's time... has anyone jury rigged something successfully yet?

I remember @Hexi saying he liked concentrate on cotton, do you just put it where the ELB goes or father down?

Thanks for the help! I'm tired of not using my evo lol, I'm sitting on like 10g of wax and maybe 2g of flower

I use the ELB right in the same spot, no extensive back end entry like some of the more advanced DIY I've seen. I just dollop on the cotton, lately I've been really trying to use just the minimal amount of cotton, then just push that cotton (loose pack) to the bottom of the ELB.

15 min warm up - mega clouds all day. I'm like 90% concentrate use the past few weeks/month. With an Ice Pinch Turbine HT, turbo mode

There is currently a glitch in our support system where the serial number is being captured but not transferred to us. We have our own support ticket open with them and are in the process of resolving this issue. We are not able to disable the serial number field so our reps have been informed to get that information so that they can manually enter it into our system.

While the % of faulty units is much higher than we like, there are plenty of units that have arrived last week where the customer has no issue with their unit. We are in the process of looking at the power supply we were using to test the varying voltage of these units to see if it might give us some clues as to why units that pass inspection here but are not working overseas.

We will need to a bit more time to analyze the data and triage this situation. My deepest apologies for these units but just like the US launch, we will work as quickly as we can to identify and resolve the various international issues we have seen.

Shit happens.. VXL will take care of you.

Its real easy for things to work right in a controlled environment and then go off the rails when the public gets to it.

We still have a relatively small sample size we are dealing with but to the best of our knowledge the issue with the broken bamboos is that MOST LIKELY, they are being damaged in transit. We will be doubling up on the amount of bubble wrap and styrofoam to give the packaging more cushion during transit. As always, if you guys experience any problems, we will take care of you.

Sorry Sm but the International units are having much more trouble than just the poor packaging. We are experiencing problems with the electronics and overheating units. The infamous 'red light issue' Where the unit fails to go green at temp and sometimes it can continue to heat up until the bamboo is glowing orange with heat. ( In mere minutes I experienced.) There are also other anomilies with the light. Not turning on at all etc.

EVERY International person who has reported back on Fc has got the red light issue. (Only 1 person said they didn't notice the red light issue. (BUT their evo broke within the first 24hrs so most likely was too soon to notice it. Imo ) and a potential for an overheating glowing hot bamboo. Which has already resulted in breaking at least one other bamboo.

My unit started glowing hot after turning the unit from 12 to 2pm (within minutes it was still showing a red LED but the interior was glowing hot, and now like a Anonymouse my bamboo is frosted/foggy looking inside the unit. But luckily I think my bamboo is still intact I need to check it again mind you.)

Issues start arising and being shared on this page, and are still continuing.

I think I may have to send my Evo back in :(...
I was in the middle of a vaping session actually in the middle of a draw when a super heated shard of glass fell out of the bottom of the glass vapor path and fell directly on my frelling middle finger.. man that frelling burned.

Oh man! My EVO took a 3' fall onto some carpet. My heart stopped, but when I picked it up, everything seemed to be ok. I took a hit and it was very harsh. I took a look in the ELB, and it was dark brown/black in the center, and light golden on the edges.

Uh oh, I know that's not good! I look very closely and can see what might be a tiny crack. I try taking one more hit, just to confirm. As I take the EVO off the bubbler, I can hear a slight crack of glass. As the unit cools, I can see it is now clearly cracked around the heater.

Submitted a support ticket and heard back. I'll be dropping the EVO in the mail today.

For those wondering, the current cost of replacing a bamboo is $88 including shipping back to you.

I just hope it's a quick turn around. Being Cloudless sucks!

Well besides the drop thats exactly what happened to me last night all my herb tasted harsh and I was noticing that it was a dark brown/black color.. that is when the super heated shard of glass came shooting out the bottom and burned my finger.

. . . Do I have to be concerned about water spilling from my SSFG HT into the bamboo? . . .

I don't think this one was answered . . . the SSFG is my main HT, used frequently. Concerned? No. Careful? Yes, but no more than usual.

If you are using ice, the accumulating water in the chamber from the melting can eventually back up into the intake arm. But you really have to not be paying attention for this to happen. Without ice, it will only happen if significantly over-filled or it is mis-handled. With water just above the slits and hit at a slight tilt (as intended), it's actually difficult to get backflow.

. . .
I just wanted to confirm the bamboo is not supposed to get so hot it glows bright orange, correct . . .

AFAIK a dull orange glowing ring shortly below the joint is normal. However, the ring should not be blazing (close to red) nor should the body of the bamboo be glowing.

Yeah it was blazing unfortunately. I had a good portion of the bamboo that was almost molten looking, It was so bright I could see the orange light refracting through the joint from a distance.

It's really upsetting to hear people struggling with their EVO. Since mine was initially repaired, it hasn't had a single problem, gives consistent, thick vape (that I can easily dial down still for great flavour). I mean, my unit is on 4-6 hours a day often. It's easily the most consistent vape I've ever had, never have to worry about performance.

Also, @stonemonkey55 , I know you guys are probably still quite busy with European customers, but how's the oil attachment coming. If I remember right, wasn't the estimated release early April?

Is everyone getting this red ring or just Australians? because it is a 220V model but Australian Power is 240V this might have something to do with it

I am aware of the post.
Sm and co asked me and the others for as much information whilst trying to sort out these problems.

Just so were all on the same page, if you have information for VapeXhale, specifically if you want it to certainly get to the engineering team. Submit information at http://support.vapexhale.com <--- These threads can get 20-60 posts a day, posting out items here is fine to share with FC members but I don't want anyone to confused. The best place to provide us information is our support channel.

Great Scott!
Got my evo back. Seems to have a few minor differences. I'll have to see how it performs.

They didn't ship back my power cable, but I work in IT so I have a million. They gave me 2 wristbands, which is a fine trade in my book haha.

FYI the HP brand power cables happen to fit nicer IMHO. They don't require as much force to insert or remove from the cloud.

Why the hell can't VXL test their products before shipping them?? Also, just go back to the damn OG Cloud for Chrissakes! Surely those original blueprints must be laying around the offices somewhere?!?

Everything they've released after the OG runaway firmware units has been hit or miss at best. Don't believe me? Just start paging through the 700+ page thread and see for yourself!

edit: I'd just like to add how I never saw that going from a sleek alloy space frame to cheap Zytel plastic was an improvement. The originals at least felt like a $500 vape in the hand!

My OG Cloud will consistently combust at 3:00 on the dial. 9:30-10:30 equals that of any of my log vapes, albeit much larger clouds.:ko:

If you've followed this thread and the original Cloud thread you should know that design changes were made for good reason. While failure rates were particularly high when VXL's ex manufacturer was screwing everything up, the defect rate outside of that period is within accepted industry standards according to VXL.

It's great that you're happy with your early model Cloud. Keep that in mind next time before you decide to put down the company--who came from this community--and their efforts in continued innovation. In fact, if you don't have anything positive contribute you should rethink what you're typing. :)
