Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Great Scott!
I know it sucks guys, and I feel terrible, but I am pretty damn certain they were in good condition when shipped out. The issue with ANYTHING shipped internationally is that it has to change hands so many times. Its really a bummer and one of the reasons I get nervous making big purchases out of the USA. Who knows which postman was having a bad day and didn't take care of your package etc.

Sorry to see that :( They will take care of you I'm sure. It totally sucks, but once it leaves their hands it is out of their control sadly.

I can't believe this...Just opened my Evo, take out the caps and the botom one is full of glass powder so the bamboo is broken...Seriously? I didn't even had the chance to try it and now I have to resend it and spend more money. I hope VXL take care of the shipment, because it was a DOA unit.

And yes, I tried blowing and the bamboo is totally broken :bang:
NOOOOO!
I am still waiting for a single delivered intl unit reported to work correctly.
So far 3 intl EVOs down. This is frustrating. My EVO is now waiting for me in customs and so far my excitements is dying off with all these reports.
This is a nightmare and I want to wake up.

We are monitoring the situation and our electrical engineer is gathering data to see if there was anything we might have missed. Our testing with our inverter has been fine (no overheating, bamboos breaking) but we get to see a little more real world experiences once these are out in the wild. Also, it seems like a little extra packaging is required with INTL shipments as a broken bamboo on arrival is very, very rare.

The good news is, we worked it out with our international distributors so that they can handle the replacements. This way, you don't need to be sent to us in the US to be serviced. The distributor shipments are currently being completed and will be sent out shortly after testing. If anyone has an issue with their unit, send support@vapexhale.com and email and they will instruct you when and where to send your unit.

I'm very sorry for the customers that had to experience this. These were things that didn't happen in our extensive testing here in the US but I we will make sure that we do whatever it takes to restore your units to working condition.

Thanks for your fast answer SM55. Sometimes shit happens but I know team VXL know how to take care of us

My only worry is if I will be able to send it before Tuesday because if not I won't be in my country and will have to let the package to some friend. Now time to wait for the answer to my email.

At least I have my lovely Cloud+

If you see glass shards, just send it back. :2c:

Cracks in glass only get bigger and even if it passes the air test, it might break later from heat or even when you blow through it. I know I don't want my lips on glass that could explosively shatter...

Better to be safe than sorry and just get a backup Vape (or backup EVO! :science:)

I've been waiting for these good news! Congrats! Now I'm a bit calmer knowing I am covered in here.

Oh man! My EVO took a 3' fall onto some carpet. My heart stopped, but when I picked it up, everything seemed to be ok. I took a hit and it was very harsh. I took a look in the ELB, and it was dark brown/black in the center, and light golden on the edges.

Uh oh, I know that's not good! I look very closely and can see what might be a tiny crack. I try taking one more hit, just to confirm. As I take the EVO off the bubbler, I can hear a slight crack of glass. As the unit cools, I can see it is now clearly cracked around the heater.

Submitted a support ticket and heard back. I'll be dropping the EVO in the mail today.

For those wondering, the current cost of replacing a bamboo is $88 including shipping back to you.

I just hope it's a quick turn around. Being Cloudless sucks!

Wow $88 bucks with shipping back. That's extremely reasonable.

Agreed, the official breakdown of the price was:

$50 glass replacement
$25 admin fee
$13 shipping

I thought the $25 was a little high for an admin fee, but once I thought about it I was ok with it. They're only charging $50 for the glass replacement and being upfront about other charges to cover overhead/labor/etc. Other companies would have just dropped the admin fee and charged $75 for the glass replacement to cover their overhead.

No matter how you slice it, $88 with return shipping to replace the bamboo is a very fair and reasonable price in my opinion.

Interesting. I've had some of the same symptoms over the last couple of days. On Friday I had the same issue with the green light but it hasn't happened since.

I also combusted twice recently (like you the evo was at around 3 for a couple of hours). In one case, the elb may have been overfull and in the other I put in an unground nug that fit a little too tightly so wasn't agitated by the moving air and I figured was probably being held stationary a bit too close to the heater. Now I'm a bit more concerned.

Unlike you I haven't noticed any difference in the temperature at various places on the dial - I'm still getting the expected extraction at each temp setting. I do feel like I need to be more careful than I used to be about squeezing every last bit of vapor our of some spent ABV at high temps (3 and above)

Following up with the issue quoted above, I just tried blowing air through my bamboo while covering the intake at the bottom and it seems the problem was a broken bamboo all along... which is funny because I've treated my EVO so gingerly (though i'm kind of a clutz I've managed never to drop it or knock it around). Since I got it a couple months ago it's always made a lot of crackling noises when heating/cooling - could it have been a manufacturing defect? I'll be opening a ticket I guess. Kind of sucks because i'm down to just my inhalator now which is not really a heavy enough hitter to replace my desktop vape for daily driving - at least for me.

I have a feeling they should be able to bring that down with time, or eventually they'll figure out how to make them without breaking so easily, they're still in year one of the EVO after all :2c:

Hey so what's the price now for the Evo? I was IGG and did the $500 for the glass/evo combo. I was talking about it w/ some people who were interested, and when they went to the website, they generally see something like
$449?

I've been on the website but I've noticed it's 3 clicks until you can actually get to a price page. People can find it on google easy enough, but I usually just watch them navigate the website and observe instead of trying to tell them where to go (gathering user data/ GUI feedback is one of the side-jobs I do at work)

Once the "choose" which vape (only 1 choice now) then they get to the price/options page and they start to wonder aloud "what comes with it/how much for just the vape?"

The last guy I was chatting w/ about it immediately assumed the GONG was the actual "glass mouthpiece".

Side note, everyone I chat with about it, their eyes light up when I mention how I use it for both flowers and concentrates, and the cotton method..

These are random people out and about, not close friends so it's an interesting dynamic to just see what people are using now, or talking about. In general, they all know the PAX, or they use a Pen, and they all know the Volcano but don't like bags or whips.

That's where when I bring up the evo they start to get interested. I mention "all glass, no bag" . The tough part to explain to many of them is the "HyrdaTube" concept.

What grinder do you guys like best for the EVO? I have had an old CNC'd grinder with the holes in the bottom for years. It leaves some pretty big chunks though and I would like something that grinds more fine and uniform so what do you guys recommend for the EVO specifically? Thanks.

Santa Cruz Shredder. It creates a very even, uniform grind but more accurately "shreds" the herb. It doesn't completely pulverize it. I have no issues getting an entirely even roast when using a grind from the SCS with the VapeXhale Evo. I've had several no-name 4 piece grinders over the years - there's no comparison between a high end quality grinder like an SCS (or other brand).

Shrike

Flower Potted, Maxed, & Rio'd.
Same with me... I use a large 4-piece SCS as my main grinder, and the shred is perfect for my EVO. It has perfectly shred every strain I've put through it with minimal effort except for Crater Lake v4. That shit is just so sticky that it gums up the grinder and forces me to wash it with Iso after use. It's my favorite strain at the moment, but damn, it is like glue...yeah, I know...such a terrible problem to have...

That is what I like to call a good problem:tup: Thanks for the input guys. I think it will be worth the investment because i am so tired of having to go back through everything i grind with my fingers to break up the big pieces that escaped. Is there anywhere to get a good deal on these or should i just go Amazon?

Blaze1 has the large 4 piece for $60 (amongst other sizes & colors) for pretty good prices. If you want even more of a discount...use the coupon code BLAZE20...

Hi there, your other option is, if you are in the verge of buying a portable vape, for example... Many of the online vape shops supporting this forum, offer a free grinder with your purchase. Some 4 pieces, others a plastic 2 pieces.
It will cost you more of course, but you'll have an awesome portable too.
Both my Solos came with grinders.
And I was unlucky/lucky that one of my Solos purchase went weird and they compensate with an upgrade, from cheap 4 piece grinder, to a Space Case small 4 piece grinder.
Very happy with it. Grinds very well but not pulverizes the herbs. Good luck and stay vaped...

Question.

So, once my EVO is heated up for about 15 minutes at 3:30, regardless of where I turn the knob, the light stays green if I increase it from 3:30 to max. As if that once it's at 3:30, it can almost instantly change to max temp. It won't go red as if it's increasing temp. Does anyone else get this?

Yes, I find I can stay within the green within an hour (roughly, this changes based dial position, extreme jumps are easier t'word the end of the knob range) of the current position. I theorize that the Cloud is constantly analyzing the thermal mass, and the knob position is based on the current thermal mass, plus the instant output of the heater. Once the Cloud has gotten up to a certain temp, say 3:00, it now has the thermal mass built to either:
1 output at the current knob position with the given thermal mass with moderate heater power required.
2. output up to 1 hour lower of current knob, with either no or low heater power.
3. output up to 1 hour above the current knob, with either max or near max power.

If you think about how the EVO can be used unplugged, you can start to think about how the heater/thermal mass combo work together. If you have a given thermal mass and then you cut the power, I believe vapor output will be whatever the knob position was, -1 hour.

So, 3:00 unplugged acts like 2:00 (initially) due to a built up thermal mass, but no power from the heater. But this same thermal mass, given help from the heater, can raise a 3:00 thermal mass to 4:00 vapor output.

Received my new Hydraline today. Replacing my Circ which fell over while ON the Hydrastand. I used Loctite crystal clear glue to adhere the stand to a 5' diameter mirror. Mirror has thin rubber feet. Just a couple bucks at Michaels. Far more stable now.

Love the Hydraline- all I hoped plus more. Love the larger pull and ability to use ice. Love the cool ice.

I'll keep the HT love goin...just got these from Armin at Evolver glass. Tried to get a custom done but he offered me a much sweeter deal (said he doesn't really do customs anymore).

I got two hydracircs: one of them is the older style and one has slanted cuts on the circ. The normal circ is about 3/4" shorter than the other and has a slightly larger mouthpiece diameter. The one with slanted cuts is a bit chuggy and retains a lot of flavor. They're both great and I'm really glad I got the opportunity to own one of Evolver's HTs again. Thanks again StoneMonkey and Armin for the amazing hookup!
