Colored me interested in one of these beauties. I just got my first ever vaporize, a 2019 "M" and already tired of refilling tiny Aomai tanks! These little things are an engineering marvel. How long is the power cord? How long is the wait? How do I get on the list? Wooden enclosure options? Price, etc.? Thanks @Pipes!

At $75 USD, so far my "Caldron" has been worth every penny!

Hi Pipes!
Thank you for all of the amazing work you have done so far in creating these products. I am currently working on my own heater which is similar to your original Portside, only it uses a hobbyking LiPo and allows enough space to store the dynavap inside the case using a doob-toob.

I was wondering if you could help me with wiring the battery. I have the same BMS you used in the original Portside and am unsure how to wire the BMS. I measured the lead voltages and wired the balancing leads appropriately, but am unsure how to wire the main power in and out. Should the charger supply connect to the the P+ and P- and then the battery main power supplies the coil?

I feel like that is proper, but then the charging power only goes through the balancing leads which are very thin gauge.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like you have the sense harness hooked up correctly. V+, V1, V2, and ground where V1 and V2 are connected between the cells. Now the 2 pin load wire goes in parallel with V+ and ground. This basically doubles up the main current path from battery to the BMS.
The BMS output, + and - pads can now be used as the power source for both providing power and connecting the 12.6 volt smart charger.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the fast reply!
So i think I understand what you are saying. In this diagram, I could attach the Lipo + to the BMS P+ and the DC +, then the same for the negative leads, and then run wires to the moffset and switch for the coil?

Any pictures of the Caldron out in the wild? I love pictures around here.

My Shadow M with Beamer Smoke Shop Case, Fat Mouthpiece, Magnets glued into case for heat sink/VC management, Backup tip n cap, Aomai flint wheel activated single flame jet lighter, My cheap but efficient Bong , and of course, my Cauldron induction heater. (Magnet on top came off. lol
No big deal @Pipes) She works flawlessly, so far!

Nice find. That looks just like the Marley brand case for a whole lot less. Can an XL fit? My Caldron is on the way? How long has that Aomai flint lasted? I got two of these (https://www.dhgate.com/product/new-arrival-genuine-aomai-compact-jet-butane/425832467.html) and the flints were done in FOUR days. Granted, I was striking them a lot cause the jet was really erratic, but four days and both basically at the same time! Tiny tanks on those too. I grabbed a Xikar Tech single for $20 on Amazon. Amazing torch though my thumb's a bit tired from holding it down. Hemp flower only, so lots o' caps.

I've been using 6 of the cylindrical Aomai lighters in rotation for a couple of years. I also have a Skelator IH that is used at night. I toke up several times a day. I've not yet had to replace a flint in any of those lighters.

Are they real Aomai lighters on dhgate? My assumption was everything on dhgate was a knockoff.

I assume flints are replaceable on Aomai lighters? I've got a drawer full of partial flints that I've pulled off dead Bic lighters over the years. (I used to use them in my Zippo)

Dunno? And I just ordered to of these (https://www.dhgate.com/product/hot-honest-butane-jet-torch-cigarette-windproof/422214733.html) as backups to my Xikar Tech single which is great.

They are on mine. Just pull off the head and release the flint nub from the spring feed and put in a new one.
Probably but those ones that died weren't worth trying to fix. The flame was VERY erratic and the tanks way too small.

Just need to mention my experience with @Pipes PSM. I received my Unit March 2019, within a month something had gone wrong with my unit. No heat up, even though the voltage meter indicated a full charge. No response from the click of the button.

I reached out to Pipes and got a response within a couple of hours. He had me open up the IH per his YouTube video to confirm if the connections were intact. After a couple of inspections we concluded that I’d need to replace the driver. I explained to @Pipes that I’ve no experience with the configuration of a device like this and was very reluctant to touch any connections myself. :uhoh:

My new driver arrived a couple weeks later....Those were some of the longest days of my vaping life, but I was looking forward to a functioning heater. I quickly disassembled my PSM (I was becoming a pro at this point) and swapped out the driver per @Pipes instructions. Plugged the unit back into the charger to reset it. Lowered the cap in and looked for the glowing LED. In a matter of minutes I was back in business. :rockon:My PSM has been running strong for a good month now and I was honestly hesitant to jinx it by telling the story to this moment....but I feel it’s important to share.

In the realm of conventional household products the PSM is not perfect, and owning one is not the same convenient buyer experience as getting a nice blender from the local department store...but @Pipes is a special breed of vendors that stands by his product and is here to guide his customers (and sometimes even people who just want to build their own versions of his product) to a satisfying end-user experience. I can say that I’m confident recommending his product to anyone...You better believe I’m eyeing that Caldron as well! Cheers! And thanks again @Pipes !

I received my PSM at the end of March & my Caldron a week ago. I’m lucky to say that I have the Best of both worlds.

The PSM has worked flawless sense day one and my Caldron is following suit.

I have had other Induction Heaters without the same results.

The Caldron is half the size of the PSM and both of them will give you the same results in about 5 seconds. Very happy with both of these Induction Heaters.

Thanks again @Pipes

I was wondering if anyone had a JarHead and moved up to a Caldron? I'm curious if they found any practical difference. I am going on 2 years with my JarHead and it has a place of honor on my vape station, tho something a little smaller wouldn't be a bad thing. I might miss seeing Zombie Donny lighting up but I could deal.

You can kind of lay an XL inside the larger section but you give up over half of your storage space within the Box. And you're only fitting a 92 mm in the long single slot. In spite of this it IS still a cool case, though.

As for the Aomai, I've had it for nearly a month now and no problems with the Flint. Agreed, somewhat small tank, but it's a single Jet and fairly efficient for its tank size. It's become my first go to lighter for everything lately. LOL
I have a Xikar scribe soft flame Flint wheel pen style lighter that is pretty nice except for how you have to activate the fuel valve. You have to grab both ends like a pen and cap and pull them apart until they click. Mine is really tight so it's annoying to do so. Other than that, IT'S a really nice lighter too.
