Awesome idea! So simple, and can have fun changing it up all the time. Now that's a what I call a fidget device. Keep it away from the grand-kids...;)

Something else that's fun is some of the aquarium decorations, like castles and such. Can really theme it out.

Things like this.

or with space for much more.

Keep an eye open at those fish stores while the wife is looking at purses. :whoa:

But please test for easy flammability. Match test if needed. Safety first. ;)

Gotta love the possibilities!!

I added my name with Pipes to get a Skeletor. I like the ritual of using a torch but I also really like the idea of having something like this for those times when I dont feel like messing with a torch. I tend to be lazy sometimes lol.

I wanted a Skeletor because I now I can start visualizing ideas to encase it with something cool or interesting, etc.

Marbles would definitely be a better look.
As it is, it feels more secure than it did before

I had the same notion when mine had some issues staying affixed!

I was too lazy to run looking for marbles, and I couldn't find any styrofoam at the house, so I ended up trimming up a condiment cup and turning it upside down.

I later fixed with JB weld, but figured I may as well leave that cup in there to hang just in case that jb weld gives out.

Glass marbles, smooth gravel, or even dried beans wouldn't look too bad!

I canceled my tie wrap anchors and ordered some marbles. Main reason being the tie wrap anchors would require the screws to be reversed, with the nuts facing up. Which would be okay if I cut the bolts and found some tiny acorn locknuts, basically a pita and still not ideal because tie wraps lol. Then I almost canceled the marbles because I like the dried legumes idea and have quite a variety on hand. In the end (so far) I let the marbles ride, this is a great deal as marbles go plus the tin itself could prove to be an ideal housing.

Comes out to ~6.3¢ a marble shipped with a 'free' tin

edit:
I may cancel the marbles but if I do get them these will be the ones. Beans may provide for more precise placement if I want to try and fit the lid on top. But marbles may let the light shine through...

:hmm:

That marble can could be a great container for the skeletor!

I look forward to having some of these wonderful pieces of technology, If the vap caps come sooner I will be testing them out on my induction cook top

I was one of those guys who poo pooed this idea, and now I am really looking forward to getting mine. I didn't really intend to use my VCs at home that much, and it turns out I am using them way more than I expected. And if the jarhead is near as good as it has been described by its users it should be a lot of fun and likely way more consistent than a torch.

I look at my heater as a silent torch, albeit a little bulky.

M tip usage, first cycle is 4-5 seconds heating after the click, as the vapor tails off I add more heat 2 seconds maybe, usually before the cool click. I'll finish the bowl just adding a bit every now and again.
Ti takes less time after the click and less time to get vapor from the additional heating.

Got the Walnut box finished now it's working out how I'll hold it together, magnets would be the 'go to' solution but everyone and their dog uses them, I found some WW2 leather straps which may look better.
Just got to do a box for the heater, fit a shorter and more flexible cable and I'll be happy, maybe.
The heater end should fit nicely in the hand which will make VC'ing in a beer garden a lot more discreet.

I took it to show a friend who's a coded welder and VC owner, he knows a little bit about metals.
It wasn't the right setting to run a bowl so I demonstrated it with a short length of steel welding rod.
Instant smoke from the contact point on the wood.

@goodpunk6 once the batteries are tucked away in my pocket I don't think anyone will second glance me using it. A length of cable and a neat wood enclosure will attract less attention than a torch.

I'm wondering, @Pipes I've been looking at connectors which will cope with the amperage.
A decent connector would allow the use of the PSU or batteries. In the spirit of 'modularity'.

Here's the latest iteration of my jarhead, as I await my slowboat marbles. I added some wine cork to the mix to push the money-hole further from the edge to accommodate the lid. But not a screwed-down lid, so I added some tape to secure it. This is how it will be for a while albeit temporarily. Solid as a rock!

I'd stick with the standard 5.5X2.1mm connector. Rating is a little shy so just get a good one. More important is the wire gauge. Sounds like you are looking at wanting 2'+ to keep the battery pack concealed. 18 AWG would do but 16 would be better for getting a little more battery life before it cuts off. The longer/thinner the run the better.
Loving the ideas turning up here.

You just would heat up the top of the cap where the clicker is but nearly not the tip itself if you respect the click I guess. But give it a try. Care of overheating the cap. Could damages the clicker.

There is no real official warranty. However, I have never "not" taken care of my adopters. I handle case by case, based on fairness and problem origin. If a repair needs to come back for repair by me, the user gets the unit to me and I take care of the repair and return. Repairs take priority over manufacturing.
This is after all, a DIY project, and the complete parts and techniques are open source for one to keep it going long after I'm gone... :rip:

But as long as I'm kicking, will be willing to help with any problems.

 Hope this answer is what you expected.

I am hella proud to be on the jarhead II list. Buy with confidence.

I don't know how anyone who likes VapCaps couldn't like one of these things! It's like pure fucking magic. So cool. I never even realized how much I disliked using the torch until I didn't have to use it anymore!

Just don't do what I did the other day. I was browsing FC and vaping, and I absentmindedly stuck my VapCap in the heater to heat it up... And in my vaped and distracted state, I missed the click and forgot I was still heating... Somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds after the click, I realized what I was doing and that there was smoke pouring out from the tube where my VC was still inserted. :o I quickly yanked it out of there, and fortunately there was no real damage to anything. The smoke was a combination of an extremely burnt load in the VC tip and some charring of the surface of the button/switch inside the heating tube. Thankfully, I didn't damage the heater or anything. The shitty part was that I had just cleaned my VapCap before this happened. :disgust:

Sooo, uh, yeah. Don't do that.

:peace:
