Hey I've got one that runs at 9.7V (whatever that translates to in Watts) and it STILL feels hot. Its not crisping the herb but it gets hot anyway.
Right now its plugged in to my Tekpower because I've assumed it would be my daily drive but I am REALLY liking Ondine, my Maple Alpha. She's not great at microdosing though. So it actually sort of fits in a little better if I keep Agni for microdosing before bed and Ondine for everything else - because I want to be careful of Agni's wood body. So if I only heat her up for microdosing I think I am preserving the wood.
I'm telling ya, bong. I've seen absolutely enormous volcano type clouds through a bong. I don't do it myself, it'd probably kill me, lightweight that I am - but I've seen OTHERS do it.
OK so I was posting in reply to other posts and somehow MINE all ended up bunched together at the end. Not sure how that happened, I didn't post them one after another but that is how they are displaying.

I've had some weirdness going on with my herb and my new Alpha, Ondine. At first I swore it wasn't packing like in my old SC2 - WHICH IT ISN'T - but something else weird started happening and I've finally figured it out.
Above is what I get out of my Golden Gate grinder. Same herb. Same grinding session. I pregrind a small amount at a time and keep in a glass jar and the fines fall to the bottom rather more quickly than I would have imagined, had I paused to consider it, which I had not.
So basically the coarsest output of my grinder I would consider "fine" and the stuff at the bottom of the picture? Too fine for use in a vape. This actually comes through the screen. I discovered this when I tried to fill my stainless steel/nylon stem via the suck-it-up method and stuff started coming through the screen. Because I was at the bottom of the vial, where the fines were, instead of at the top, where I usually scoop from when I scoop-and-fill.
So I scooped some off the top layer and some off the bottom (there's really only like a gram or so but it still readily self-stratifies) and laid it out to see the difference and I was shocked.
So ... still in the market for a coarser grinder that doesn't create so many crumbs.
In the meantime, the increased air flow means that as long as I scoop to fill I don't seem to draw much through the screen before it "crusts over". It doesn't actually pack like it did in the SC2 - I had to SCRAPE with the business end of a nutpick to break that up and it totally cut off air flow - but it does crust together so the tiny particles stick to each other and don't come through the screen so readily. And you still get good airflow and tiny particles that stick together are still small pieces so ... I'm managing for now, but a better grinder is still on my wishlist.

Hi. Bro I have issues with my alpha core, I don't get full extraction on like freakin 11.8 to 12.2. No sense either on 12.5. And I mean full extraction on SC3+ & SC3. I think it's just because the direct draw nylon is not getting the correct heat. Lol I think I should stick to my SC3+ for micro dosing full extraction vs alpha big bowl size

I just grabbed a second Pucc grinder, can't say enough about these - so close to the brilliant cut for 36 bucks on puffitup, or 49 shipped from pucc.com....
When I read posts like this I truly scratch my head. By no means am I suggesting the issues are not valid, they just don't match my experience. My alpha is as simple as plug it in, heat to 10.8, suck some material into my chosen stem....next stop milky-cloud-city! Hope you get it figured out....maybe post a video?Hi. left coffee color sc3+ 10.5 10.4 right alpha 11.0 to 12.5 and including sc3 at 12.5 all light brown green. I can revape avb in sc3+ to coffee color but the it tastes like some muslin bag.

No offense, guy, but the stuff on the right is ABV. The stuff on the left? That's burnt to just this side of ash. I see no green left whatsoever. Of course it tastes like ass - it IS ass by the time you fully extract and then put it back in for a second go LOL! You're already getting full extraction, but your SC3+ is going all the way to black by the end of the draw, that's all.

Actually experimenting with mine - if you load carefully eg DO NOT TAMP AT ALL (I scoop and tap to settle) you can get an awful lot in the Alpha glass stem. It doesn't pack down during the draw the way it did in my previous dogs.
That said I filled mine up as much as I dared ONCE and won't be doing that again. I am a lightweight!

I highly highly highly recommend an Alpha - even when I'm not high I would STILL recommend an Alpha. Mine is UBER STABLE as well as being a beautiful hunkawood.
EDIT: I will admit it is a challenge to microdose in the Alpha so far ... perhaps this will improve for me as time passes

About the PUCC Grinder: This is the page I found
It looks like a less capable, cheaply made version of the Brilliant Cut Grinder except it only has ONE grind level instead of 3, it uses inferior metal, and comes in way fewer colors with no option for mix 'n match.
OH and also it is teensy, like 2". I think the BCG LARGE is the smallest grinder I would ever bother with. I do not understand why they make them so freakin' small ...

Ha!! I prefer the SS when "micro" dosing. The glass direct loaded lightly and tamped lightly, works great too! However, sometimes I catch myself saying to myself "oh shit, I am going to be hiiiiigh as fuck, oh well, a better day!"

Yeah, sadly my manual dexterity (and failing vision) make it REALLY hard for me to handle the teensy screens that needs. I dropped the screen out of that TWICE before I even used it and almost couldn't find it the second time LOL!
BUT they ALSO sent me the Alpha version of the nylon & SS stem - and the SS part comes OUT of the nylon part so I can put a screen in upside down (flat top up) which is my wont. I imagine removing and replacing it will eventually wear out the nylon part but I don't need to clean screens that often anyway when they are flat side up so it works for me.
I just need to get a teensy scooper and then I won't be tempted to overfill the glass stem LOL!

Yea I’d prefer to get one but I’ll have to see the options, if I don’t see one that really speaks to me I’ll get the sc3+ but I’m not worried about microdosing too much
