Hey Dogs don't mind Underdogette she's just alarmist.. lol.
Long story short I was continuing to process down all that wood that was on the trailer a week or two back and had the shelving loaded, er, maybe a bit past recommended capacity. That was fine but apparently my deciding to scoot the rack over a few feet without unloading it first (playing Tetris with equipment again) wasn't as ok. As a result I ended up with about 90% of the shop wood in piles on the floor.
No great problem there except we have another rainstorm on the way and our shop floor tends to flood when we get heavy rain and I was having this living-nightmare of all this exotic wood floating around the shop.. eeeek.
So, had to run back to town for like the 5th time in one day and buy all sorts of stuff to fix the problem and get the wood off the floor before the rain came.
Moral of the story is if you have 3,000lbs of wood on a rack rated for 1,000lbs and find you want to move said rack unload it first. If you don't it will unload itself.
Ok, there's your update I'm now mostly back in the saddle, gotta answer a few more emails and pack up a couple orders and then off to the shop to work on those WonGs. The wood can get organized later, at least it's all off the floor for now.
@ HERB - yeah I think right about $50K last time we did inventory.. crazy huh? Luckily all seemed to survive unscathed.
@ SM - lol duct tape and bailing wire should be a guys go-to emergency fix-it tool.. it is occasionally mine. That and zip ties, you've never seen someone cover things in as many zip ties as I do.
