Witcher Seaason 2 has been a fun one so far.
And really, really liked the animated Arcane. Even with zero background or knowledge of League of Legends.
On the Amazon side, Expanse is the best sci-fi on TV right now and final episodes have just started airing.
Also enjoying Wheel of Time, but I am a self-professed fan boy of those books (which I prefer to Game of Thrones).
If anyone notices a great deal (like a 30 day trial) being offered by Netflix to US viewers please shout it out. I have some Netflix shows I need to catch up on...
Cable is already cancelled. I stream everything now, mostly through HULU and Amazon with a FireStick. Netflix has mostly eliminated it's freebies for US viewers whether they are 1st time or not.
My HULU with live TV and some ads reduced is costing me like $85/mo now...
I'm a news junkie, local and national. I even get Sirius XM just so I can listen to CNN and other news channels in the car, tho I love Classic Vinyl and the Beatles channel (and some Blues and Jazz I guess, but mostly the news).
BTW, that is what I will do if I can't find a deal. Just buy a month, or two if I can't get through it all in one.
Doom Patrol touches on so many social issues as it
lurches from comedy, to sexuality, to stupidity and then
really deep interesting metaphysical ideas.
It grows on you ..... like fungus.
Arcane really took of with little Jinx's murderous temper,
and split personality.
I'll have to check that out. Have you seen "The Boys"? It's absolutely my favorite superhero content. In my opinion, it pretty accurately represents what would happen if Marvel superheroes actually existed. Namely, it would be a corporate controlled, horrific, absurd, and hilarious shitshow.
This show simply does not miss as it skewers every aspect of American society, politics, and foreign policy. It's super fun too. Can't wait for the next season.
Yeah I don't know I think Apple has been doing pretty well, the afterparty was a good comedy from them too recently!
I forgot about that show! You're right. I was more thinking of the content available when they launched. I didn't think that stuff reached the levels of top tier content on HBO, for example. But that seems to be changing. Hell, they just won an Oscar for Best Picture.
Foundation wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed that too.
Severance on AppleTV is fantastic.
I feel like AppleTV usually puts out mids. But this show is great. It manages to be both funny and terrifying.
Looks good, and a strong cast. Might be good.
It's weird, but I think that's a good thing. I wanted something totally different. It's a bit like a good scary Black Mirror episode, but is also pretty funny. Which makes sense because I'm pretty sure Ben Stiller directed most of the episodes.
