I've had discussions about your comments on the tornado when you didn't have one with others in other forums. You've helped foster any combative nature in this thread. That could be some food for thought.

And I'm not trying to attack you etc, I'm just trying to provide some balance to your jab.
I think you are right. Whatever my intentions, my presence created negativity. I regret it.

I feel things I say in this thread now are mistrusted. Seems to warrant further negativity. I do think I should dip. I'm like a one man de-railing element in this thread now. Not helpful.

I do think people should be encouraged to offer their gripes though. Just not encouraged by me, as I'm not a neutral voice in this thread now.

I'm off anyway. No more de-railing. My apologies.

EDIT - I would encourage people not to chime in. It will sway further off course, and will just end up deleted by a mod regardless. I think we are all of an understanding.

Love that the fact that you don’t own a tornado isn’t even acknowledged  gotta admire the commitment

Got a link to this? I've looked and looked and can't find shit.
No, thankfully. Some bonehead over in the discord posted it in outrage. Unclear how they got their hands on what evidently was a private google docs link. The mods took it down after about an hour or so

I think that’s the point he’s making; nitpicks and praise from people who haven’t used the device isn’t feedback, it’s speculation. Feedback from someone who hasn’t used the device isn’t actionable or useful, really.

I think your cult comment is a wild take, considering that Vestratto kinda makes it hard for people to like them as a company. Recent examples that come to mind include the baffling tornado stem incompatibility, the forge situation, that bad experience one user had earlier in the thread, and more recently, that leaked forge warranties document.
Fuck vestratto CS
That is all.

So my adapters from ScruffyWoofers finally shot out of the mail system after all the strike backlog. Will be nice to finally try out my BFG Rosewood longstem although the glass lined pipe I've been using is very nice.

When does he plan on making the tornado work on basic dhv stems? Will the older tornado's be considered beta or a upgrade kit will come for those with the current one?

Also does the tornado fit in the wand with the glass cup adapter? I saw someone using the new dynavap adapters(seem i would need to trim it a little to fit a tempest to the bottom). I like how the glass cup retains heat, making me need to use less of my battery on the wand.

The Tornado does not fit with any glass Wand adapter that I have (or, more accurately, you can fit it in cold, and it gets stuck when it heats up). Has anyone found a glass cup that's large enough for the Tornado (but can still fit into the Wand)?

I don't necessarily trust the silicone DV adapter; recently there's been some stuff about silicone leeching chemicals at high temperatures, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the DV adapter probably isn't made with platinum-cured silicone. (This would be more of a concern while heating than while inhaling FWIW and is probably infinitesimal in reality. Also, I managed to spell 'infinitesimal' correctly on the first try. Go me.)

Follow-up to this post after more time with the stem. It's great for the Tornado with Scruffy's 9mm adapter. Comfortable in the hand and well balanced for me. The Tornado continues to impress me as I can hit it direct on this stem and I could take deep pulls with big vapor fairly easily.

The stem never came close to getting hot but I never tried back to back bowls with it to be fair. I feel like the stem absorbs a bit more heat from the Tornado than a glass piece (when it's used as a WPA). As such, I found I had to increase my Wand timings slightly to compensate.

Do you need a glass insert because you want to heat hands-free? I still heat my Tornado freehand because it fits in my Wand with no insert at all although I could probably balance it upright sitting on the glass lip perhaps. Never tried. I suppose I'm lucky that I never saw any Wand errors that others have experienced.

I don't mind heating the Tornado without an adapter, but I prefer to heat the Tempest with an adapter, and I don't love having to mess with the adapter reach time I switch devices.

Yeah that's a tough one. I've read that positioning the Tempest adapter can be challenging for some so you don't want to be re-installing continuously....

The only other alternatives are learning to use both freehand with no adapters, or getting another Wand? I don't own a Tempest but I have a Stunner that I've been heating freehand with success. I don't know what this might be like for the Tempest.

If you know where to source some silicone you trust then maybe go that route.

I've had the tornado since about Nov 20th 2024. It's my first Vestatto product. Some thoughts:
  • Didn't realize I was buying a pre-order when I bought it. Yeah I coulda read mo betta but also I kinda felt that part wasn't really emphasized. Not crazy about that.
  • Used a few times with a torch (x3 flame cigar torch) and then exclusively with Camofluet inductor. Vastly prefer using inductor. Torch experience was fine
    • General routine has me touching inductor (23.7V) to tornado atomizer while spinner for ~12 sec, then at top of oven near clicker while rotating for ~6 sec, then pulse by airholes for ~2 sec, x3 - by this point, vapor is dripping down out of tornado and will visibly puff out if dropped into downstem. 1st click may or may not happen, if it does then 2nd click will sound off shortly after
  • Using with reload gen2. Despite bowl being too big to fit reload decapper, still amazingly useful. The thought of using it without the reload is lowkey intolerable
  • Flower
    • ground (bcg medium plate) - lots of clouds, visually satisfying | mid flavor | short session
    • unground (torn from nug/whole popcorn nug) - phenomenal flavor | visually underwhelming / mid clouds | longer session / more tokes. More chill, and was surprised that supplementary heat cycles didn't yield appreciable amounts of additional vapor
  • Used with (in order of most preferred to least preferred) - settling at 23.7V on the inductor since I can't set it at 69 or 420
    1. High artisan 14mm dry donut sidecar #2
    2. locally bought (prob china glass) fab egg / stereo matrix perc, 14mm - dry
    3. fluid short stack 18mm - with water
    4. simrell mvs stem + scruffy woofers 8mm adapter
      • Only time I ever experience thread lock
    5. fluid short stack 18mm - dry
    6. knockoff fab egg / stereo matrix perc, 14mm - wet
  • Thing shreds the fluid short stack w water. Great experience. Haaaaated the stereo matrix perc w/ water experience
  • Cleaning is kind of a pain, best to get the components warm but not hot, otherwise reclaim acts like glue
    • Reclaim is super clean looking. If I'm feeling lazy after running some concentrates, I'll take a shred of nug and kinda mop up the accumulated reclaim at the bottom of the wpa and stuff that bad boy right back into the 'nader
    • Not used to these kind of vapes, so going pretty conservative with the iso around the o-rings
    • Pipe cleaners are clutch
  • Concentrates:
    • Fresh press:
      • Vape cotton - does work, but didn't enjoy; too restrictive
      • Folded ballvape bowl screens - great experience, especially if stuffed at top of bowl > some ground nug > a shred of whole nug to kind of cap the bowl at the bottom - excellent experience
    • "Piatella"
      • see above, but better
    • Dry hash
      • Vape cotton - worked, did not enjoy
      • folded ballvape bowl screens - worked, pretty good compromise between working and having to clean
      • topping flower bowl - best results, but residue necessitates frequent cleaning
  • Covered my needs well enough for me to shelf the ballvape. Happy to not have a hot coil around all the time now. Being able to power off & put away out of sight is helpful for moderation
Overall, very happy with it, but acknowledging that my satisfaction kind of hinges on the inductor and reload gen 2. Not insignificant additional costs. That said, I'm very satisfied and don't anticipate returning or reselling the set

Edit: Bowl size - Pretty much exclusively run half bowls or less cause it's more convenient for me. Running concentrates with the screen up top of course means that less pot fits in the bowl, which is fine. It's pretty amazing the performance I can get out of this thing using a small amount of ground nug and tamping it down using the old head poker. The one that came with that scoop

Looks great on the Dani! Thought you mentioned the carbon stem .. tried that yet? I’m liking it the more I use it.

What’s the 69 or 420?

:tup:This has been my experience as well since using the inductor. Sometimes no click. Definitely if doing a re-heat.

I received my Tornado yesterday.
First use with a torch. I'm a real noob in this style of use, and I'm not really a fan of it until now.
I have a store that sells vaping equipment 10 minutes from my house, and I'm going to go there tomorrow and buy either a Wand or the Flare.
Which one will be best suited with the Tornado please?

After a few sessions with the Tornado, I can already say that this thing is totally incredible!
It's literally more powerful than any ballvape I've tried so far. A session with the Tornado is like a dab, but directly with delicious buds!
