I don't say this to other gents often, but your wood looks way better than mine! :rofl:Did you oil it or treat it in anyway? Damn I'm jealous! :argh:

The manufacture said the last batch of wood they got was much better than the prior...not sure if that is what your seeing there. But it is darker and more brown..not as blonde as stock....so probably he treated it?

I've rubbed a bit of cci gunstock oil (linseed, Danish oil and beeswax mix I think) into it but that's all. It is very open grain oak so will always feel textured (which I like) unless you fill it and polish. It has darkened since I got it, just through handling after gardening.. That's the beauty of a nice bit if lightly treated Oak, it looks rougher but it will age with more character than a polished and sealed but of dark tropical hardwood or something. Think oak suits its scandi style better.

Charging my one and only Tinymight battery on Day 2, lol. I’m using one of my Nitecores which showed I indeed drained the battery in a day and a half. Well, it’s the weekend after all. The Tinymight continues to impress and is so smooth and cool. Flavor pretty darn awesome too throughout most of the load. I’m already up to 6.5-7 and enjoying it. That may be my happy range unless using external filtration.

And I removed the dome screen with the last load in which the battery gave out. I got a couple of nice draws and then it kept vibrating at me during on-demand mode. I didn’t know what was going on but thought perhaps the battery was running low since the last draw attempt was nil after a couple of nice ones - with freshly ground flower now in jarvials to better load the stem (check that one off the list).

Yeah, my Nitecore says it’s very low. To be continued... :peace:

Indeed, if I’m ever lucky enough to get one, I’ll try using Watco Danish Finishing (tung oil). I use it on all my oak furniture. Rub on, wait a bit, rub off. I prefer it’s slight luster, protects the wood, and you can reapply whenever you like, use sparingly, goes a long way. I’ll probably heat up the unit to full temperature, just to make sure there is no oil smell from the wood, but owners so far seem to indicate the wood does not get hot, or very warm.

I've noticed no smell, and certainly no dodgy taste after oiling it. It does get quite warm if you've been hitting it hard but definitely not hot.

I just found Tinymights in stock over here in Europe for a killer price, the shop is legit!
No idea if this is a mistake but its 230 Euros with free 24h express shipping :D
Their partner shop in France says they will be available April 10th, but here it says in stock so be ready for mistakes, but you might end up getting one for a very good price anyway!

I have been experimenting with how I take my hits. What I do now using a j-hook is start my hit until I milk up the j-hook, then I let go of the fire button and continue to draw until the J hook is clear. I think because the TM is so forward heavy on the session I thought that if I took it super slow maybe I could get better flavor for longer. It definitely did that but I also got ridiculously high off such a small load.
Is it possible that I am taking rips my lungs can't process and therefore wasting my herb?

Not a Vapman “beta tester”
Why are we hearing stories about multiple shipments to shops in Europe but none to any of the USA suppliers? Does anyone know what the average wait time from Finland is now for these?

I do that too. The coil definitely does not cool down instantly and retains enough heat to be able to let go about 4 seconds prior to the end of a hit. That way I avoid overhitting and push all of the the dense vapor deep into my lungs instead of just in my throat.

Took over 4.5 hours to charge my only Sony VTC6 last night in one of my Nitecore chargers so Tinymight usage and continual initial assessment is on hold until tonight. It’s amazing how cool and unrestricted air flow is. Taste is very good too initially using it between 5-6.5. I finished off one load with just a tad of green left in the middle of the load in the stem and still the effect was great. So far so good. I’ll provide more detail in the days ahead.

I guess receiving the TM amid the Coronavirus outbreak is a good thing - to keep my social distance away from everyone and selfishly use my new TM... :):peace:

I particularly like the weird zx spectrum loading noise you get from the heating coil :lol:

I wonder about the longevity too, be good if replacement components like the coil were modular.

Has anyone been brave enough to do a teardown yet? That big hex screw is tempting

There should not be any reason to replace the heating element, since it is not actually a traditional coil at all. Some opened it up

Just picked up a tinymight from reddit. Im pre-order number 335 so I think I have quite a wait left, that will give me some time with this used tinymight to see if I want a second one (backup) when my number comes around!
Im gonna be itching like crazy for the next 2 days waiting for it to arrive!

While I always like devices with replaceable parts, I’ve come to accept that if not available or user serviceable, if I get a few good years out of electronic based vape products, there most likely will be newer, and hopefully better products when the old ones fail for good. Owning a variety of delivery options is always wise. My base units like solid NewVape vaporizers, are “industrial” grade, and have few parts that can fail, maybe a new heater coil in many years. Then of course a VapCap, no electronics. And when the power goes out, and batteries are dead, then a good old glass pipe, or one hitter, can get one through dark times.

Are you using an RBT short stem to a female 18mm J-hook? I need to order a bunch of rimless basket screens otherwise I've ended up loading the entire stem  which makes me push the temperature more as the load compresses towards the basket screen.

@farmerpalmersnt
The noise is no concern, it's the PWM (IIRC) turning on and off to heat and maintain heat. I pulled mine apart (except the heater to board connection) and posted pictures a few pages or so back in the thread.

Tinymight ‘testing’ continues now that the battery is fully charged. Damn, this thing hits wonderfully after 2-3 draws and I’m still in the infantile 6-6.5 temp range. But the draws are so cool and easy (compared to using a Grasshopper natively for many months). It’s a great feeling not to have it that hot - and the TM is really very cool temp-wise - and it hits wonderfully to great effect. It’s a different feeling in wonderful way. I’m very happy with it and now :D.

My first draw was to finish a load with just a touch of green it. I didn’t stir and it was tough finishing it correctly (i.e. even AVB) without changing the temp. Indeed, on-demand mode is what I’ve been using most - suits me fine. Had I stirred or (gasp) turn up the temp I could’ve made an honest kill on it but I’m still learning. I then packed me a fresh load, sans dome screen and right into the bottom of the CU - ain’t that what it’s for? Two draws on 6 and I got some nice light vapor clouds and the effect is amazing (taste pretty good too, which I enjoy but...) ...I’m still getting used this stem (short). It’s wider than anything I’ve used vaping and takes some getting used to. My lung capacity is pretty darn good and I can hold a note a long time but the wider stem restricts the length of my draw, for now.

I checked the stem and there’s still considerable greenness so there’s more work to be done later, and the TM seems very efficient with extraction so far. I ground up 3 different strains yesterday all on the coarser side (for a change for me) in hopes loading the stem will be easier than with medium or fine ground. This too will be different but a welcome change with an awesome vape.

But I really am loving the TM so far. The coolness - likely the CU - is just awesome. It’s got plenty of power for me and I ordered a couple extra Sony VTC6s last night. It would be a shame not to be able to use a Tinymight for that reason :) The honeymoon continues... :peace:

I have to say its is genuinely the best portable I've ever used. Better by a long stretch (IMO) than the others I've owned (mighty, cfx, pax3, dynavap, splinter v2, firefly, p80 and others). I am not easy to please and this thing blows my mind.

Interesting! I'm very curious to know why you think it's way better than the TETRA P80.

Any chance you could share why in the comparison thread?

Thanks

There are ways to get 100% even abv with the TM: stirring, using various screens and capsules, playing with the temp and grind etc., however, I recommend to check your abv after the session outside of the chamber. I have often experienced that the green spots look much less prominent once you dumped the abv in a tray and decrumbled / loosened it a bit, you might be surprised how even in general it actually is.

”Good to the last drop” and “waste not want not”, you know? I didn’t debowl the load by it appeared to be more than a few flecks or green and much less than a poorly extracted load. Perhaps a quick stir would’ve made finishing it off better and I’m not complaining at all. The Tinymight does extract very well and I’m getting the hang of it. I also don’t need that much either as it really kicks in after a couple of draws (ok maybe a third). Definitely cool vapor which is welcomed for me.

If I’ll be relying solely on the stem and CU sans screens I might consider an extra CU. I received a complimentary long stem with my unit which was a nice throw-in. I’ve got the on-demand mode down pat - a couple (or three) draws usually does the trick and perfect for me.
