Ok so i been researching the revolution, was about to decide on it, and now i see this dart. Is it some adapter for the rev? Or a whole other vape? Need me a portable concentrates vape.

it's a cart for the battery unit. the rev is a cart w/ or w/o a battery unit, it just comes with an adapter for the original T1 battery unit. if i am not mistaken. the dart is a cart (like the rev) that works on battery unit like the thermovape or (with appropriate adapter) another battery unit like the persei or omicron. correct me if i am wrong

I met the guys at Thermovape yesterday afternoon. Thanks again guys for letting me stop by your place. I picked up a thermovape with just the dart attachment and I love it so far! It makes loading simple and without the mess.

Well I've been tryin' to get a HR DART and a AR AVA atty since Saturday, and since I'm relatively close to TV home base I've always gotten my shipments within one business day. I just found out apparently though my package has just been sitting in their shipping department for a few days :(. I hope to be able to join y'all soon in testing out the new windowless version.

Great news, I'm sure you'll like it even with low grade hashes to feed it, but the better oils are a treat for sure. May I suggest a different strategy on your attack? Learn the machine with the QISO. Get to understand it so you can control it well, get big hits when you want them on demand. Then switch over and enjoy the good stuff under better conditions. You only get one chance, make it a good one. If you're concerned about taste, remember this unit is designed to be boiled squeaky clean if you wish. Just be sure it's good and dry before you put more oil back in. I use the toaster oven at 200 F for 20 minutes or so. You can give it a 'test listen', if there's a lot of water left it sizzles when you power up.

Let's hope the worm turns for you and supply improves. It really does make sense from a medical point of view I think. If we can only get the Feds to find something better to do than bust dispensaries. We 'lost' another high profile one in Oakland last week.....

OF

After working with the Rev and the LR AVA, I feel pretty confident that I understand how to work it proper :brow:. I am about to try using everclear instead of iso on my next oil run. See how that differs in consistency and flavor. So far what is attracting me to the dart is the loader. Looks like it makes things so much easier. I saw KT's tip on pre-warming as you dab, makes sense. I do know about how the oil needs to soak in the first few times to break in the dry ceramic. People may not realize that brand new loads tend to just prime it, and won't produce much vapor, so I drip a bit, warm it to let it soak in, then drip a bit more, but not enough to flood it. I'm glad I got in on this when the Rev came out, should shorten the learning curve quite a bit. I was foolish with the Rev in the beginning. I went straight for the solids, and got the thing way too hot to handle, and got disappointed because I had a friend over, distracting me, and it wasn't working very good. Once I sat down alone with it, cleaned it out and tried some oil, it all started to make sense. Most of these devices have that break in period that you have to be super patient with, and once they get going, look out!

:bang: I know all about the Oakraid, so ridiculous, and I could say more bad things, but there is no point. I just keep trying to visualize us all happy, and free to choose for ourselves, with cannabis growing everywhere, and try to send positive energy out there anyway, in spite of how it really makes me feel inside which is unspeakable. :whoa:

Killem with KINDNESS! :luv:

So I was looking at the dart and thinking.... so here's a thought. What if the top of the dart was a little longer and hollow so it could actually be an oil reservoir. You could have a window near the bottom of the tip that you could twist open or closed to drip a bit out onto the tip and then close and vape. You would then have a reusable and refillable cart with reservoir.

I had a similar vision, thinking maybe it would heat the end enough to keep a slow drip happening or something...wouldn't that be cool. One request though, for all of us who already have the heat element part, it would be cool to be able to just buy the top part separate if something like this became a reality.

*WARNING* DO NOT USE THE 6V REV WITH ANY DEVICE PUTTING OUT A HIGHER VOLTAGE THAN 6V OR YOU WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY *WARNING*

so i got an email back from TV saying that because i tested the Revs heater on a device running 7.4V that i likely burnt out the element. they said that the warranty does not cover this. however i thought i remember there being conversation in this thread regarding such issues and the consensus was that the 3.7V devices actually start at 4.2V, and the 6V devices started at around 7V. and that the Revs could indeed take the extra voltage...?

TV did however say that since they cannot replace my Rev that if i sent the core back to them that they would re-build it. so that sounds ok to me. sucks that ill have to wait to get it back to actually get to use it for the first time though... those are the breaks i suppose...

i could have sworn that there was talk about how the 6V Rev could handle 7.4V...? am i imagining this?

Ordered mine on Sat. too. Got a notice of shipping some 20 minutes later and that's it. Tracking says they were notified electronically on March 31st(Sat) to expect the shipment, but nothing since. I live just across the Bay from TV and usually would get it by yesterday (virtually overnight).
With their usual level of service I would expect to have it already and be testing it out for tomorrow's DSO concert.

Sinclue,
Their website did mention their CC system was ffed up, maybe that has something to do with it.
Man, checking this Dart out, it really looks nice. I may have too add it to my arsenal of portable ecig style vapes. Now I just need to know, is it worth getting 3v batteries for 6v model, or just get LV, and run it on my atmos/big-ass trustfire battery.
OF, is it worth it to add this to the arsenal?
Edit: I'm at a crossroads, I was pretty hell bent on ordering an Aqua Vape(to run persei through) today.... What to do...

These carts should last indefinitely, imo. You boil the shit out of it in water to clean it, and reuse. :)

Er, ah, KT....just exactly what is it you're putting in there? I think we may have found the source of your ongoing problems......

On a somewhat more serious note, I agree the Persei should be a near ideal base for the LV. Omicron will work, but the time out is a PITA and it can goof up the timing of your hit.

It's actually a 3.7 volt unit and you can just buy the 6 Volt DART and get basically the same deal in terms of performance, but IMO the conversion is worth it for the opposite reason, it's nice to put the Omicron cart on for 'no brainer' hitting sessions. Nothing to load and all. If you can afford the freight for the extra battery and charger I'd go for it.

:D mmmmm, co2 extracted feces supermelt....

Agreed on the persei, though in an overmedicated state I can totally see myself forgetting that I had it with the 7.4V batts inside and trying it on the dart LV.. as 2clicker unfortunately found out, using 7.4V on even the 6V high resistance revolutions can damage the element. :(

I think the omicron v2 is pretty much a perfect base for the unit, especially the polished chrome version. A nice and safe but useable 3.7V, good battery life, no timeout, and the housing around the battery and the way the top / connections / etc are designed, should provide some extra heat protection for your thumb as the rev starts to get real hot like..

kertong,
Alright, so then has anyone but Tim had the chance to sit down and compare the 3.7v model vs the 6v model? I could get a 3.7 and rock and roll right away, or the 6v, and have to order batteries and lipro charger also.

I sure don't recall it and I try to follow this thread fairly closely. For sure such a comment would have interested me if it didn't get by me. Even not 'hot off the charger' that's just over a 50% overload. At 8.4 it basically doubles the normal power. This is what killed the Omicron carts. "Just a little more voltage" isn't always a good idea. If it was, I suspect the maker would make a little hotter heater and tell you not to go to higher voltages?

yep, ThermoVape himself said as much

Okay, let me try and answer a few of these questions:

what voltage does the revolution need? errr.... how much voltage is too much?

For the ThermoVape Revolution - LV: 3.7V standard Li-ion, or LiMn batteries are fine. These can actually read ~4.2V but they are commonly referred to as 3.7V batteries. This is the standard nominal voltage for lithium ion rechargeable batteries. The Revolution - LV will fail if ran at higher voltage.

For the Original ThemoVape Revolution you can run this up to 7.4V, it is optimized to run at 6.0-6.4V. More then 7.4V is too much.

No, I have not. But I have done that with the window version. IMO the results are basically the same. The LV does basically the same job with higher current at lower voltage. Blindfolded you'd never know the difference.

Ok, that is confusing. "For the Original ThemoVape Revolution you can run this up to 7.4V, it is optimized to run at 6.0-6.4V. More then 7.4V is too much."
Up to 7.4 is ok, but greater is not. So, I can't blame 2clicker for thinking his standard resistance thermovape revolution would work on the 7.4V persei...

thank you! i dont see why they wouldnt replace it considering they even said its safe to run at 7.4V... :uhoh: im not using a persei though... im using a 7.4V Detonator.

that is the exact post i read that prompted me into buying the 6V Rev in the first place.

Understood. The same could be said with the 3 ohm Omicron cart too. It was OK (barely) at 7.4 volts (as tested) but a little more was fatal. The 3 Volt batteries in the TV also come out a little higher, 3.3 or so IIRC?

While it's true "more than 7.4V is too much", I don't think the line is all that well defined. I'd have just said 'don't use it with batteries over 6 Volts and let it go. That is the original intent of the part.

I think it's great they'll rebuild it for free, but I don't think this is a good thing for folks to be doing even if they're very careful. It's probably only a matter of time before it fails, no doubt when it will be least convenient.

OF,
I feel for clicker, but it was well documented that the Persei's 18350's are 4.2(x2=8.4)v fresh off the charger. Hopefully clicker's mistake will save some future people the hassle.
Are the heating elements the same for window style and dart style?
