In my area, its pretty hard to find a spot to smoke anything. All i want is something i can use to smoke with a couple of my friends and privately toke with on a weekend basis, possibly a few days during the week. I would assume the evo would be the lesser of two evils for more than one person due to the battery life. If the evo isn't a slouch i don't see a reason not to get it over the TI. Thats what my confusion is about lol

I hear ya, nothing wrong with being discreet. The thing about the Evo in a group setting is that it would need to be reloaded quite often, which may or may not be a big deal to you. I have a 6v Evo, and I'm still finding I change my batteries after the first bowl, because they will start to fade during the second load. I don't have any experience with the low voltage (LV) Evo, but if you're set on the Evo that's the one I'd get for a little better battery life, and future upgrade compatibility.

I don't mind reloading the bowl often. I mean if we can nab like 10-15 hits per pack without having to recharge the thing ill be happy, but idk what it'd be like with the LV. I don't mind if i don't get "awesome rips" or "good clouds" and whatnot: i just wanna get stoned with my friends while I'm away from school lol

We're not talking smoking here, I assume you understand that and it was a slip of the tongue? While I agree the Evolution and T1 are both excellent products and will serve you well most likely, neither is a good 'party vape'. IMO they really are best for one guy at a time. Both will have heat and battery issues if even a second guy gets involved. Make it two or more additional and you're not going to have good results.

I guess I'm not comfortable with the 'lesser of two evils' part (I don't see any evil and got lost on what was more and what was less in the middle of what's most likely an unrealistic situation). If you want to vape with your buds I'd suggest VG as a portable better suited? Or even MFLB which will have cheaper batteries and will handle the heat build up far better. Not that it's a 'party vape' really, but it's a lot closer than the TV offerings.

I agree with Stu. It's difficult to share, even with only 1 other person. Especially since you need more than a few bowls to start perfecting your technique. Using my inefficient technique w/ the Evo LV, I really only get 2 awesome+1 OK bowls per charge (15 hits). I think once I get better with pulsing, I could go up to ~25 hits.

Seems to me you would be better off with another vaporizer than the EVO or the T1.. What i think people are trying to say is, although it works fine with more people, it is not very easy to use in that setting. Either because of the batteries or the learning curve, you and your friends will most likely end up lighting a joint after all the batteries go dead..

Considering your usage, i would sacrifice a little on the stealth issue and get a solo or a davinci.

Yeah or be miserable as hell and thank me later for warning you. The point I'm making about that comment is you seem to love it and disliked you TV while I love my T1 and hated my solo.

Suggesting anything to anyone without a clue is wrong. The ONLY good advice for the new user derailing this thread is spend a day or 2 reading the other threads of portables. I can think of several portables that could fill your needs, which one is best suited for you is something you will have to decide and do properly.

I only have experience with the Evo LV and MFLB. I bought the Evo LV thinking it'd be great for two users (we can make it work, but in the end, it's a personal portable vaporizer designed for medicinal use).
So, I usually only use it at home now and I take my LB everywhere I go.
When I use my Evo, I like to make sure I'm comfortable to enjoy a nice 10 minute session. I don't like using it in a hurry.

When I'm out, I carry a MFLB with four Powerex 2700 batteries. Each battery is good for two trenches, and in my case, one battery is enough to get three people pretty stoned, especially when kief is involved.
It's pretty stealthy IMO. I have pretty big hands so it makes it easy for me to 'palm' it and use it anywhere...

Ok so a little update of the smell issue: I've soaked it in alcohol and as per Tim's advice, I cooked it in my oven at 180 for 15 minutes, and... there is still a little odour. But I've come to the conclusion that this is absolutely normal, it's now more like a metallic odour than anything else. I may have been naive to think there would be zero odour, considering that the Evo is made of metal. A heating metal always has a smell... Also, my naivety was somewhat created by the gn0me, which has absolutely no odour at all except the delicious aroma of whatever you're vaping. In terms of purity, the gn0me stands alone.

But don't get me wrong, I think my Evo is awesome and I can't wait to try it out tomorrow night!!

Some of what you're finding will go away as surfaces get sealed up with resins and the like. And the materials in the heater will eventually become stable (form clear oxides on the surfaces, generally). As I hinted at before, in order for you to continue to smell anything, something has to evaporate off and be smelled. Since you're not adding any more contamination, over time that has to lessen and eventually will go to zero. Even a fingerprint (readable as single atoms in fact....) in a Ultra High Vacuum system eventually is swept out if the pumping is active.

To some extent, it's still a hot metal thing in a real world with dust and other junk. And smell can be very sensitive, but IMO there's no need for concern....enjoy your new friend.

If it was the perfect group vape it would be everyone's group vape, but there is no such thing as perfect. In this case you get really shitty copy paste support from a company who will not even acknowledge their product on their own website. They claim the model number makes no difference yet they've also claimed to have fixed several problems. The consistency of the product is wildly fluctuating. They have done NO communication with us on here, though they did have an account and stopped using/deleted it for some shady reason. They use materials that they are unable to disclose due to their lack of presence here. They do not respond to questions about mystery goop within the device. They deny strange smells for the longest time, then claim that they have fixed the problem (which doesn't exist according to them) and won't tell us how. This is just SOME of the list of issues I have with the solo. It is not a perfect vape. Neither is the T1 or the evo or the Underdog or the cloud. There IS NO PERFECT VAPE. Everyone needs research. For some people they would be willing to suck robofart hits out of a solo in exchange for better battery life. For me I'd rather have a pile of batteries and keep using the clean pure open design HEALTH minded T1.

We are all different and want different things from a vape. It is up to the buyer to do their research or spend money trying stuff out and suffering the loss when it doesn't work out properly. It happens. The key is holding yourself accountable for buyers remorse, but if the company does something wrong (chipping "organic ceramic") for example, then they should step up get involved and do the right thing. Other than that it is a case of buying the wrong vaporizer. I feel like you feel cheated out of your money somehow with the T1 because of the battery situation. I think this is a lack of research IMO. Based on your username I'd GUESS you haven't been here long since its talking about the TV. You probably got a TV fairly early. You probably didn't take the time to realize that the vape would be limited by the best batteries out for this usage right now. I would also like to remind you that this works by shorting out the batteries to stress them far beyond their intended use. Of course they need to be replaced. My current 8 need to be replaced right now too. Thats ~$25 for another few months of 4 bowl capacity wherever I go. I'd say they delivered what they've promised.

You realize perfect is an expression? Nothing can actually be perfect. General consensus is though that the Solo is the Best portable group vape. Your only gripe with them is that they don't take time to post on this forum. And they have said to people who have called that the serial numbers don't mean anything and have something to do with production so I don't know why your complaining about that.

I really don't need a long post by you to tell me about accountability. I was one of the first people in the WORLD to order a TV. Probably before you had ever even heard of it. The only information available when I bought my TV (unlike you guys who have the luxury of reading what us early adopters had to say about it) was the info listed on there website. When I bought my TV there was in big writing on the Thermovape website "BATTERIES LAST FOR 20 MINUTES OF VAPING".Now tell me. If the manufacturer of a product tells me that each set of batteries is going to last 20 minutes, should I just not believe that? "You probably didn't take the time to realize that the vape would be limited by the best batteries out for this usage." Please stop making assumptions. I took all of the time to research and read everything there is to read including the users manual (which I've doubt you've read). I've read EVERY page of this thread (There were only about 4 or 5 pages when I ordered mine). It was a complete shock to SF GIANT (the first person who bought the vape on this forum) when he got his too I remember from his posting. He had also assumed that the 20 minutes of battery life was true and when he got his TV I remember he was not that pleased. Stop making assumptions darkrom because you don't want to make a ... of yourself in the future.

Hi all.. Been reading this thread.
Kind of dazed and confused will all the Mods + all the different configurations TV offers..
Anyway my question is to all you Solo owners how does the ThermoVape Evolution LV Vaporizer compare overall to the Solo?
I love my Solo but looking for something more stealth and smaller and the TVE looks like it could fit the bill..
One thing I like about the Solo is draw wise it is very easy to use.. Meaning you dont have to think about technique or anything... Reading this thread it kind of reminds me of the MFLB in that you have to spend time perfecting your technique with the TVE and it can be tricky.. Is that the case?
And how hot does this thing get while using it for say a session of just 2 or 3 loads? Again being Stealth I want something I can put in my pocket or something at a moments notice, if I need to, without burning my nutz off...
