Discontinued The Woodeez Vaporizer/Diffuser

Abysmal Vapor

Supersniffer 2000 - robot fart detection device
Do you think that you might have gotten a defective one ? Or maimed it ? Or got damaged during transportation. ? How do you explain the happy woodeez users reviews ?

Purchased the WDZ some time ago. It sounded like it would be the perfect vaporizer. Instead, it was a complete waste of money =\
Little to no usable vapor production, and extremely difficult draw rate. I'm afraid I couldn't recommend this product to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

Not sure why my previous review was closed, but I should respond to some points. My criticism is 100% factual and constructive. It is not a user error. I have tried everything. The product does NOT provide usable vapor hits. This is not a product I could recommend to anyone. I post my review here to help anyone considering purchasing this vaporizer. Anything less than allowing this review to remain is censorship, and should be recognized as such.

The product already has a review thread. And I own a WDZ, and there are various reviews comparing the functionality of all 3 log vapes, a convenient one at http://fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=4604.

Before you claim that it is NOT user error, you should consider the fact there are plenty of other people that all have working units they are happy with and you are the odd person who claims you are doing it right and it doesn't work. You should also keep in mind that you may have just gotten a defective one--that is what the warranty is for. It could also be the outlets where you live, and the kind of power that is actually being provided to the unit.

I will say that the extremely difficult draw rate, as well as less vapor production, is associated with over-packing the stem in my experience. It is small for a reason. Suck in what you can, brush out the rest; don't force a bunch of herb in there. That gets giant clouds and a draw rate similar to an empty stem. Also make sure you grind it. Too fine can end up making it hard to draw through, but a medium/medium-fine is what I go for.

Anyway, you should redirect your problems so people here can help you on the thread for the product. http://fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1813 You can also look for existing advice on how to correctly use the vape there.

Log vape technique is super difficult in my experience. For the first week I was pretty sure my Aromazap was useless but now it's easily my favourite. Read the threads for the Purple Days, Aromazap, and Woodeez and see if you can pick up some tips. Your stem packs should be such that you can still easily pull air through them after you've filled them but before you put them in the vape. After they are plugged in it does get very diffifcult to pull air through quickly. The thing is that you don't need to, Your "pulls" should really be you applying the tiniest bit of pressure with your lungs, breathing with your chest and not your mouth/throat, for a good 10-20 seconds.

nr-cole,
I had a number of issues too when I first got mine but I eventually worked out what was wrong and now I am absolutely wrapped in it. I had some power issues where I kept blowing the tranformers (still not sure why). That was hard to trouble shoot since the device takes so long to warm up and has no power indicator. I then had to learn how to pull properly. I started out trying to pull hard like a bong and it didn't work. After getting some advice from the guys on here and some experimentation I figured out you need to pull like continuously drinking a milkshake in one breath. Instead of pulling hard, you should pull for as long as you can. Once I figured this out I was getting smashed off minimal herb. Seriously, I hadn't been that smashed for years. Make sure you troubleshoot everything before claiming the device is useless. However, it may just not work for you just like joints never worked on me. No matter how many big joints I smoked I never got ripped.

So what is it, good or bad? I've been emailing with todd before I buy one and he seems to be a pretty nice guy and has answered all my questions quickly. I read the WDZ thread but never read a bad review (some petty complaints about craftsmanship) until now. I was just about to order one when I came on here to reread the thread. Should I not be thinking about a WDZ?

Long time lurker here. I deciced to take the plunge and get a log vape. What makes this one less desireable than the others? It looks to be the same as the others as far as the pics. I've been emailing with todd and he seems to be a nice guy. He also told me to wait on my order because he said that Woodeez would be having a Halloween sale towards the end of the month. I was totally ready to order, but now I think I'm going to wait. Customer service like that definetly has me leaning towards buying one from him.

Functionally, Woodeez, PD, Zap etc are all about the same. The PD's and Rockzaps run a bit hotter, depending on the wood species used in the unit, but any of them can be made to reach the same temps with a cut-off sock, coozie or even a 13.5 V power supply. The PD has better fit and finish and tends to be a bit hotter; sometimes there can be a long wait for a PD, though it is worth it, IMO. The Rockzaps also tend run a little hotter than Woodeez, are generally much smaller, some of the best fit and finish / aesthetics of any log vape, plus they use ceramic insulation, which will probably prolong the life of the Rockzap and eliminate the rattles and loose core that the others sometimes exhibit. You can't really go wrong with any of these. Woodeez are inexpensive, quick to ship, not quite as fancy but they function fine.

You should totally consider a WDZ. To me the negative comments ring of someone inexperienced with a log vape. I felt the EXACT same way when I first got my Aromazap. Fineness of the grind, denseness of the pack, and the rate of draw are all essential to getting the most out of a log. If you've gotta have a new unit, the WDZ is the lowest priced one out there. By the reviews it functions as well as the other kinds. Another thing you should check out is the classified board. There's a handful of logs in the $100-130 range there.

You can also look at Gunky's original thread here: http://fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=4604. Apparently they all function about the same, and differences in temp seem to vary more on wood type and thickness from what I've read elsewhere. PD people say theirs is hotter and more efficient. Maybe for the same reasons people say the Volcano is the best of the best--higher price, and in its case, a months-long wait. (Besides, if you don't mind it, a higher power adapter or sock or wristband can raise the temp to compensate for any possible difference.)

I think with the improvements put into the CRZs, they are going to run the hottest without any extra aids, and last longer as Gunky said (though they all should last a very long time). The PD has the "benefit" of being the most "well made," although I prefer the size and shape of my WDZ to the pictures I've seen of PDs, but that really is personal preference. The new models from rick are beautiful, though, and I think kick the plain wood's butt.

I will say that customer service does seem to be more lacking than it seems to be with others once you order (though I can't speak for the others). After I got my unit, the time it took to respond to e-mails shot up, if I got a reply at all.

I agree with mrfloopa, though now with the innovations the Zaps are having a newly defined review seems to be pending, (EDIT:) Toasty top and Underdog vapes should be added too to the review.
I only have a Woodeez but having been a dedicated lurker for some time i can say that these being the cheapest log style vape you do see the price being translated into the products craft, as well as Todd made it apparent to me by his responses, he makes these under a speedy time pressure and thus can't be as dedicated to perfection and has trouble managing the emails. Essentially this are the same functionally and as sturdy as the others(RZ's being an exception) but not as pretty.

If I had known that going into my log-vape shopping, I might have done a little bit differently. I happened to get a nice looking unit, but if this is a side-project of Todd [as it seems by response times and quality of some (albeit rare) models], that translates more into the quality of product and service than price does. Think of less expensive product that is made by somebody who puts time and effort into it. That will translate into much better products, despite the price. But I guess that is what everybody says about this model of the log vape--You will be (respectively) getting the cheapest log vape for the cheapest price. Of course, "cheapest" is comparative, and as reviews show, they function about the same.

Small edits based on following comment to not unintentionally mislead anybody or sound more critical than I intended.

Well, I do want to clear out that this is an assumption I did based on what comments he added in his emails like slowly falling back on orders, the speed in which he sometimes replied and what others comment here on FC about the kind of service they received and when describing their units; all of course mostly compared to the competition. I also didn't mean cheapest in the sense of the product but literally price-wise, because that's up to the individual owner to judge. So I admit, I could have been a little too blunt by speaking so generally about WZ but that is just my view on it and I'd prefer not to make it a statement but a comment, dangerously controversial, but still a comment that might help give insight to those who are thinking of buying this great vape and know what they'll be getting.

I just got a Woodeez from Todd for $125 for the Halloween special!!!! :brow: !I waited and waited for him to post something here about it like he did last year about the sale starting, but nothing. I shot him an email asking when it was starting and he said that its not going to be advertised this year, but any emails that come in asking about it were being honored. I'm so stocked, I cant wait!!!!!!!!

Well Enjoy it PapaSmurf. May it give you tons of use and effects. I had a woodeez it was my first log vape and made me a believer. I since purchased 3 other log vapes, the only one I havent experienced was a Underdog unit not sure I like their tubes.

It's been a little over a year now that I got mine. Been plugged in almost 24/7 since without any problems. Defiantly one of the best things I've done in awhile.

Just got a new tube from EdsTnT that is the coolest wood I've seen, great work!

I still can't believe how efficient these log vapes are.

Konadog,
My woodeez has stopped working suddenly after only 6 months. The transformer is still working so it is due to that. I live in Australia so I am resistant to sending it back due to large postage costs and long turn around times. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me troubleshoot the woodeez to hopefully fix it myself?

Same here. And I just picked up a cocobolo stem from Ed, which takes it to a whole new "high".
I really enjoy my woodeez. I put microscopic amounts of herb in the chamber and get nicely buzzed. I blow out decent clouds of flavorfull vapor. I recommend this unit if you're on a tight budjet. I'm still gonna get a Rockzap as soon as I scrape up some dough. We all should have a few of these amazing devices to vape with.

I bought my woodeez secondhand and it came with a screen in the heat port. It fell out yesterday, so I was using it without the screen and the screen makes it much better. I dont mind that the herb falls through, but it burns and then is no good for cooking. I love how I can vape forever on small amount of herb and then make a tincture with the abv.

The screen can easily be moved back into place. A small wood dowel will get it just right.

I was able to get it back in after I found the screen this morning, I just wanted to share my view of the vape with the screen vs without and I like it significantly better with the screen. I would suggest everybody put some sort of screen in, especially if you are using your abv. Thanks gonzo, I never would have put one in myself

I'm just wondering if I can run the Woodeez at 13.2v here in the UK as opposed to 12v without doing any damage to the unit? I've got this adapter

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but thanks a lot for posting that adapter!
