Discontinued The Venus Apollo

I agree with @NickDlow, I am not at all concerned with the name...I smell a potential victory with this vape.

Any thoughts on making some sort of bullet for easier vaping on the go?

I believe the herb chamber is the metal piece you see in the exposed part of the vape, it was mentioned you can purchase an extra for swapping out on the go, this may preclude any kind of bullet system or be a more robust bullet as it is (more robust than say the Pinnacle Pro bullets, I mean).

I'd like to see more pictures of the components and a usage video so we can understand more of this little machine and how it operates.

@virtualpurple if the herb chamber is similar to the Venus, it is some sort of a bullet already, since you can take it out entirely and exchange it for a second one.

What you guys say make sense, thanks for clarifying.

About video, how to show the performance?

Please take the glass mouthpiece and metal herb chamber out of the body and show it from different angles as well as next to other objects that will give a better idea of how large each piece is. Show how the pieces fit together. And as Nick asked, show how to load it with herbs, vaporize them showing the vapor exhaled into light with a dark background and them empty it with a closeup picture of the vaporized material to show it's color and consistency. Thank you. Photos will suffice in the meanwhile if it takes you time to produce a video.

I tried something quickly but I need to create a better setup. Connected the vape glass tube to a 5 litre water bottle and put a vacuum cleaner to the other end to create suction. But it was hard to create real life life conditions, as the suction was so great that in a 2 seconds the bottle collapsed, I doubt anyone in real creates such a strong effect when taking a hit. But anyway, to be honest, I was quite impressed with the results, packed up a full chamber of herb and vapor formation was intense, and the room smelled amazingly sweet after this. The flow of vapor out of that big fat glass tube was very solid! And when emptying the herb chamber, perfectly even looking color from bottom to top.

I wanted to see how much I could extract out of it and started another session and got some vapors, but clearly the first sessions had extracted most of vapors already, and then, not on purpose, since it was not a very normal situation to use it, held the boost pressed while the vacuum was off for maybe 10-20 seconds, and started the vacuum again and saw a flow of vapors again. And after I turned it off and emptied the herb chamber, now it was quite evenly nearly black. So there is a lot of power available and with boost it is possible to rise the temperature anytime as much as you wish, and at least I can say that this little vape is able to extract nearly everything out of everything imaginable. I was using 60% power setting trough out the test sessions, which is on the higher side, to take care of the very hungry lungs of my vacuum cleaner, in my own sessions I prefer 40%, or even 30% with a few second extra boosting before a hit, and as I said, made a mistake boosting when should not have, when I was adjusting lights and all to see the vapor better.

I was very pleased with this, since when I vaporize, I use very mild settings and having low tolerance to herb, I feel it's very strong effect and after 2 hits it's no work for the rest of the day. And the herbs after my sessions with the conservative settings look almost like nothing happened but the effect is very strong. And since the effects are so strong to me, I cannot really even try the full potential of this myself. So with this vacuum test I was impressed to see how much vapor comes out of full chamber of herb with nice even color on the herbs. And that if asked, this vaporizer can deliver anything from just tasting terpenes to smoke vaporization session, with capacity to deliver lots of vapor quickly to medical users, and all at the users control without limitations and to be carried anywhere in a pocket. :)

To compare them: both have similar technology, the new heating element released 6 months ago is now in production for the Venus, and the same part is used here. But this seems deliver even more strong vapors. Maybe because of the short path from herb chamber, not much opportunity for the vapor to condensate on any surface like the tube or glasstop. Incoming air path is also much shorter. Of course the vapor is warmer in the pocket version because short vapor path doesn't allow cooling it so much. batteries last a longer time with a single charge in the pocket version, about 50% extra capacity. And batteries come out and can have extra batteries. In Venus, batteries cannot be replaced, but on the other hand they are very strong with a long life time and the supplied ac/dc adapter can charge them in about 1 hour 20 minutes, and it can be also used with the adapter in place and charged same time. On pocket model charging happens on external battery charger, so it's good to have 2 sets of batteries.

Advantages I see with Venus: Very nice feeling to vaporize, when you can see the vapors flowing beautifully in the glasstop with lights inside. In a dark room, with music playing, it can be very nice to enjoy not only the vapors but also the visual view and the process of getting medicated. Very comfortable cool but strong vapors for sensitive people.

And Pocket: Size, more easy to carry with, and doesn't take much space. Very nice ergonomic feeling to use, fits nicely in hand. I like that I can have as much battery energy with me as I wish because batteries can be changed quickly. Even more powerful vapors in a smaller form factor. More clean vapor path with higher airflow capacity. The glass tube is sized so well that it surely doesn't limit airflow in anyway. And there are not much to clean in this vape, just clean this glass tube sometimes and that's it I think.

I would expect this to be nearly indestructible. The oak it's really tough material, the metal parts support it even more, the electronics I've tried to make as foolproof as possible, placing them in their own compartment without any mechanical contacts and since charging is done externally and batteries and chargers are widely available around the world, the actual vaporizer might just need a new halogen bulb someday but that's it, probably can be still used by the following generations if batteries will be available in the distant future))

I have to say I haven't myself used any other vapes, only once tried quickly one well known model with the inflating plastic bag full of vapor. But I've heard from many customers that the Venus has the quality and amount of vapor very well comparable or exceeding that of many popular desktop vapes, and the pocket model as I explained the above reasons, has even stronger vapors and same time it is a true portable model fitting in your pocket. So I think it is a good fit for those who don't want to compromise on vapors but need a reliable vaporizer which can be carried along easily.

And since it is a compact neat pocket sized device, with solid and pretty but same time natural appearance, and delivers amazingly good vapors, I feel very fond of it, it's like a personal treasure, always around, if not in use, just nice to look and touch :)

Do you take advantage in the design that halogen bulbs provide not only heat but light also ?
For example : on MacBooks , the screen light is used to illuminate the apple on the back of the screen.
I mean, if in the middle of the unit, there's something providing a lot of light, why not using it ? ^^

I was hopping for the opposite X) Seeing light coming from an object gives it a kind of "warm feeling"
And I don't think it is going to be the stealthiest vaporizer on the market considering its size :p

it was used in the Venus to make the vapor visible under the dome. The portable probably won't have such a feature, I guess

I really like the look and idea of this vape.

For names I really like Helios but here are some other suggestions:
Fireball (sun-related yet might have negative association to combustion)
Starlight
Shiho (Chinese Solar Goddess)
SolVape
SolarVape
Ra is the Egyptian Sun God but I can't think of anything good for that
Pyrios, Aeos, Aethon, and Phlegon are the horses that pulled the Greek Sun God's chariot across the sky
Here's a list of a bunch of Sun Gods: ancienthistory.about.com/od/sungodsgoddesses/a/070809sungods.htm

If none of those work we can just call it Fred.

Nice to see wood in vaporizers!

A casual suggestion: if your "stellar star" vape is scaled down a bit, you would double your sales. Rationale?

Our other half of humanity, for the most part being more petite than six foot plus males, may find it oversized for them, so there goes the potential sales.

Ergonomics is a scaled term, and marketing is a shrewd stratagem.

As is, it is "pocketable", but not a true blue portable, IMHO.

(1) You might make it smaller for everyone's love of "stealth"
Or
(2) if the manufacturing costs are not overly prohibitive, produce gender specific models

As for names, perhaps in the spirit of fun, hold a name Christianiting contest for your new vaporizer, with the chosen one winning a wooden halogen prize! Mine is "Northern Lights". Or simply, the "Aurora".

You can't really make it smaller especially if you want to keep the "fixable features" : user replaceable battery, replaceable halogen bulb. You would have to use a smaller battery ( look at the arizer air, it uses also 18650 batteries and is thus quite big ) or thinner wooden panels ...

Being inclusive, that would exclude the lower hemisphere, the Aurora "Australis", a huge potential market....

"Aurora" is the Roman goddess of the dawn....

Great Scott!
All I care about is performance and function and safety and quality. For all I care you could call it this and I'd still be interested...
