I got my dark oak Apollo today! I only had a few minutes with it so far but wow, this vape is a real beauty for sure!
I had to read the instructions to figure out how to turn it on, and keep it on (very nice feature) and then I ran a quick .3 unground bud through it, starting at level 6 for a hit, and then up to 7 for another, and then up to 8 for another hit. I seriously love playing with the boost.
By this time, vapor was really rolling good and with the 140mm glass all lit up by the bulb, it gives you great visual feedback of what is going on. I turned it back down a bit and used the boost from there to finish it off. I lost track of how many hits I took as I had to stop after the 4th or 5th hit.
I came back a half hour later and checked the herb. It was still greenish on top but crunchy as I pushed it down to the screen/no stir . I fired it up again and took several more hits (lost count) until it was about done. I was riding the boost on and off most of the way. It rocks!
The flavor is great with this one! The abv is much more like convection abv than conduction abv, imo. I think the darkest/scorched bits were closest to the heat of course but there was no combustion at all, even on max boost. I don't think I need a hotter bulb personally, but I may play with it someday.
The touch sensor works great and I like it more than I thought I would. I was worried my hands may be too dry for it to work right or something? So far, I like this vape very much, but I am not much of a vape reviewer.
