I already have one ordered but seeing that video...for some reason I feel like now I need another.
I have a Zion and a grasshopper coming...must...fight temptation...
That's all I needed thank you.
I just need to find a way to get a wood mp for it now
Got mine today, pics on my IG
@vapen00b or anyone else, I am wondering if the screens were taken out of the herb chamber, how deep would an 18mm male joint would slip inside? Could a long LSV type wand be used with a basket type screens perhaps?
Ohh man, it's going to be a long weekend.... Happy Friday Folks!
Hello FC Community, I am lurking in this Forum for quite some time now and really like the constructive way of how the communication works here. I was mainly following the GH Thread, because I had a pre-order for some time but then decided to wait until there are functioning retail units available. At some point I found the Apollo in the unreleased thread and it fascinated me from the begining.
Since I am almost sold and really would like to order it, I would like to ask some questions to the people who already have it (two as far as I have counted correctly).
How harsh is the vapor when used dry? Since I only have a MFLB, a FM 5.0S mini and an Extreme-Q, how good would be the taste compared to those? I really like the taste of the Extreme-Q through water, but that is also my only experience with a convection vape. And do you have to stir the load in the Apollo? Since from what I read here the chamber gets to hot to touch, so that stirring might get problematic within a session.
In any case this is a great looking vape and I am almost sold on a pre-order.
Hey @vapen00b,
thanks for the warm welcome and for answering my questions.
Maybe a follow up question. What do you exactly mean by the intense heat from the halogen bulb? Does it make the vapor very hot or is the extraction especially good because of that?
I personally have the feeling that I am kind of a sensitive person when it comes to hot or harsh vapor. Very easy to make me cough. That is why I am asking so much about it. Dont want to stress you out with it, especially since such feelings are very subjective and hard to answer.
Though I am extremely tempted to click the buy button the justified but not so low price is why I am asking so much.
Edit for no back to back posting:
Hello @villekille2,
thanks for providing us with this great Vaporizer.
I hope this question has not been answered yet. As I understood it, one can change the percentage of the intensity of the lightbulb for adjusting the temperature. While you did extensive research on the heating element are there any temperatures relating to certain percentages of intensity with the halogen bulb. For example, like 20 percent halogen bulb intensity are about 180 degree celsius or something like that?
And again thanks and congrats for this great Vaporizer.
@vapen00b Thanks again for your quick answer and good explaination. And for your scientific research.
I could not wait it out anymore and am on mission Apollo myself now. Well not on mission yet, but hopefully soon. Order has been placed. I also ordered a replacement 2nd generation halogen bulb and the 14mm glass stem.
If everything works out as I hope, I would like to replace my Extreme-Q with the Apollo. As much as I like the taste and efficiency of the Extreme-Q it is always a little hassle to build it down after use. As the Apollo is portable and has less parts I can just put it away after use.
Just thinking about getting a D020 bubbler from DHGate to use the Apollo through water. The D020 looks like a nice small piece of glass and I could connect the Apollo directly to it, instead of using long silicone tubes as I have to use now with the Extreme-Q and my bubbler.
Well, I am really excited about being part of this and hope I will like the Apollo as much as expected.

You're looking to replace a desktop with a portable?
That's a tall order for any portable vape.
Please let us know you opinion on the two.
But maybe someday someone on the forum comes up with some information.
@NickDlow you are probably right but from what I have seen in the posted video and how @villekille2 explained the function as desktop in portable format, I am confident it will fullfill my needs.
With the Extreme-Q I normally take two to three hits through a small water bubbler and thats quite enough for about 2 hours and the hits I take are far from being dense clouds.
I also like the MFLB a lot where 2 to 3 tokes are also enough for me for about an hour or two with a fresh trench. I also like the taste from the first couple of hits.
What I like the most about those 2 Vapes, is that I can just take the hits I need an then get back to my load later on. The Flowermate I own is a nice and discrete portable device but it spends the whole load while being used and the taste is inferior to the other ones.
My hope is, that the Apollo gives me those nice tasting convection hits, like the Extreme-Q, while being almost as portable as my MFLB with on-demand functionality of those both.
I will report.
Edit:
Thanks for the answer and the link, @villekille2. I am very interested to draw a comparison myself but you got me definetely even more excited now.
I have a very early "Extreme Q" when they were called V-Tower Extreme - SS silver outer shell but still with remote and other functions of the latest Extreme.
My Extreme sits in my cupboard since I got my Mighty and from the video the Apollo seems to milk through glass just as well or even better than my Mighty working at its best (i.e., herb dryness at optimum).
I don't have my Apollo yet, but I see it as an "upscale" Mighty sized portable made out of much more attractive materials and potentially even higher performance with more convection vs the convection/conduction performance of the Mighty.
So I would say that the Apollo is definitely going to be higher performing than a desktop like the Extreme.....since the Mighty already is and also based on the performance shown in the "Pictures Of Pot" video.

Yes......I definitely "baby" the Mighty and only use it at home......even though it is a portable.......it certainly isn't a robust portable like the Solo was.
I don't like bags, so I haven't used the Volcano and I also haven't used an LSV/Da Buddha/SSV - so I can't compare to any other desktops but the Extreme. But the Mighty can generate a lot of vapour when filled up and used at highest heat setting through water.
But we've both seen the "Pictures Of Pot" video and the vapour that the Apollo produced is very impressive - at least as good as the Mighty and likely even better.
The thickest vapour that I've seen was through my Underdog stainless steel stems......but that was just below combustion level vapour.
I would also be only using the Apollo in an indoor environment or just on a weekend getaway - maybe camping but only where it is a cottage rental or car camping site.
I wouldn't want to truly rough it with such a nice looking vape as the Apollo......I would probably pick up a VapCap, Vapman or Hammer for that use if I was vaping in a very rough environment.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I actually have a VapCap and that's my unbreakable vape, the body is made of wood from @Ed's TnT.
Also comparing the look of the vapor between the mighty and Apollo isn't fair either IMO because and correct me if I'm wrong, the Apollo is convection and the mighty is a majority conduction. I would think the appearance of vapor would be 'better' in the mighty's case but the taste is where it's at! And I can't wait to taste the Apollo for myself.
I'm also a UnderDog addict so I doubt I'll be using the Apollo much at home unless I'm walking around and shit but the majority of my home vaping is in one room.
I do see this baby getting much use though, that's for damn sure! Espically with spring and summer coming up.
Thanks @vapen00b I am loving the Apollo! @villekille2 you sir have made an OUTSTANDING vape! Thank you sooo much for rerouting mine at the last minute and exchanging a few items on my order. You sir definitely provide top notch customer service along with a quality vape. I got the shipping email Wed morning and received it Fri afternoon in the US, can you ask for better shipping than that? It was bigger than I thought but that is not a problem at all. It fits and feels normal and smooth in the hand (bout the same size as my cell). The taste alone is amazing through the Apollo. I set mine at 5 and let my mind become "Homer Simpson-fied". Every now and then hit the "boost" and prepare for stars. I am still trying to figure everything out (that's the plan today with saving heat settings, trying every heat setting, playing more with the boost).Hey smutman,
great pics you shot! Fantastic to hear you really like it... Not having a GH myself, it's cool to hear this one's the flavor king. Guess when you figured it out more, you won't even think about the ff2
Hope many more will soon get the chance to get this supersweet beauty and beast of a vape... You re gonna get something really unique - a hell of a functional piece of art
Have a great weekend everyone - Monday is soon to come!!!
