The Toad from Morwood

I'm the future owner of 54. Was my second pick..

Now to wait patiently 😬😬🤣

I woulda loved to grab the Polaroid and really did consider it but then I figured I like my bollocks and my mrs would have them if I spent that much on a vape 🤣.

Already made an agreement that I'd sell my tubo dual to fund the Toad 🤣

How is everyone feeling about the 11mm internal diameter of the herb chamber these days? I have been thinking about going a tad wider.. maybe 14 or 15mm. For reference, the Tinymight stem is 14mm internal diameter.
I'm all for the 11mm diameter on mine. I'm a microdoser.
I have a tubo dual, mighty and a volcano all sitting gathering dust as I solely use my dynavap purely for the reasons that I like small doses. Hence why the Toad appeals to me 😁

Thanks for bringing this back up, actually. I hadn't kept up with the thread earlier when it was mentioned.

This is speaking as someone without a device in hand to compare to, but I think moving to a 14mm diameter can make sense for compatibility's sake, right? I'm wondering if it's possible to try the Toad through water/jhook. (Already dreaming of mine to arrive haha!) Also. If a wider diameter yields a larger device than upgrade in batteries would be pretty cool.

I know I gotta just read back, but do people tend to do a deep stem pack on these? Or is it more conducive to small loads/microdose/1 hit style like @Cudge82 mentioned? I ordered both heaters because love messing around with technique.

I have been using it many times a day for several months...
with almost every use, my fingers find themselves going through the Toad from side to side...

and I am attentive to the evolution of the sleeve...
which does not evolve!
Nothing to report!!!
The sleeve may be a little less "soft"... in the sense that my hands would adhere a little more... but it's imperceptible!!!

That's honestly both crazy and relieving

Can anyone who's had a toad for a while give some insight as to how durable the sleeve is?
Very durable! It’s certainly possible to scratch one or two outer layers, but in my experience they almost heal themselves? This Washi is a pretty incredible material. I keep mine constantly waxed and the few times water dropped on it, it just beaded right off. Still feels great, still looks great.
Also, it’s very easy to keep clean!

Speaking of taking the Toad everywhere...

I’ve been waiting for an acceptable time to share these on here.

yeah... considering the description of the process and the multiplication of layers of washi, I think there is no need to be worried!!
the ink that interests us is protected by at least another layer (perhaps more?) of transparent sheets...

this material is awesome honestly...so smooth and soft...organic!

I have the impression of seeing a little more the places where the sheets of paper have been superimposed, connected...
but at the same time...i've spent so much time with my Toad, that i don't think they're more visible over time...rather than x-rayed them too much [i'm not I'm sure Google translate translates this last part, sorry]

another item on the same topic...
my toad had his first two "accidents".
it fell a meter, in its case... nothing to report... apart from a slight acceleration of my heart rate...
the second time... i was way too high... i wanted to dislodge a crumb of weed from the screen near the heating... i shook, blew then shook my toad 3-4 times... until it hit a table... it hit an angle. you could see "something" (I don't know what you could see, but I swear). the sleeve was maybe a nanometer down and it was slightly clearer. I rubbed the way you rub a child's wound... Wolverine effect... there was nothing left! today I don't even know which corner of the toad I attacked!

I'm thinking of something else...
I put my toad upright on the kitchen counter... bad idea... it dragged in a blob of oil and got stained. it was during a discussion with my grandmother so it became a sentimental task...
well, you know what... the toad absorbed the stain and it disappeared (surely helped by my many manipulations and my own "hand grease")...

my only concern would possibly concern the button of the case. by dint of opening and closing it... and reopening it... I tell myself that the wire that holds the button will not hold indefinitely...
maybe it can be done with an even more resistant wire, or with more turn of wire...
but I imagine there is a trade-off between robustness and ease of use. and it's also possible that I'm wrong and that it lasts indefinitely...well, not a big problem...!

otherwise, I was wondering, how do you clean your wooden stems?

and finally....i know dan is drowned out with work...but i would love pics of a naked toad...before the washi pose...

edit: your photos are delicious, @Arawfish
Thank you so much for sharing !!
I love the one with the toad on the rock in the water, and the one in your vehicle... nah... I love them all!

I myself was waiting for an opportune moment to share a link!

@Arawfish @fangorn Excellent photos! I wonder if it’s because of the out-n-about nature of the Toad that we haven’t seen nearly as much quality in 200+ pages of the Nomad thread.

OTOH pics of people vaping in underground bunkers with jeweler’s gloves on probably aren’t as exciting anyway.

@cx714, haha! Well.. I do find that people are more delicate with their Nomads, purely because they feel a little more fancy and special I guess... but personally I have beaten the hell out of my Nomad II, and find that it only gets better with age.... so I'll always be encouraging people to take em' both out and about.

Little bit of Midnight Toad action...

I’ve been thinking about nighttime pics for a while, and this past full Moon I thought it might be a good idea to finally try it out.
Well, it didn’t go as well as I had hoped because I think the moon may have actually been too bright, and my little IPhone had trouble focusing Vape itself.

P.S. getting stoned with the Toad under Moonlight at a Lake is where it’s at 👌🏽

Oh, I missed the most recent batch. Some real stunners in there--I really love the retro-futurist aesthetic of several of the toads with katagana written on them. I'm surprised by the three that ended up being raffled, as they were my favorites. The persimmon tree and lichen on magical stone are very groovy and I love yellow! As everyone before me said, though, you really knocked it out of the park with that retro polaroid toad @Dan Morrison! That is an incredible piece, congrats to whoever ended up with it!

Question. I’m on the waiting list. When my name comes up, what happens next? Is there a batch you then choose from? Any way of knowing where in the list you stand?

Don't worry. Dan will reach out to you when your name comes up. He's good about giving very detailed info about your options at that point. I've already purchased and received two vapes from Dan, and each buying experience has been excellent.
