The Toad from Morwood

Got my @Tswoodenart stems in! They are lovely, most effective cooling stems I've used so far! Also incredbly quick turnaround and shipping! Highly recommend!

The color matching of the darker wood to the text/imagery on your toad is perfect! Great choice I think you'll really enjoy them; I certainly have been loving mine.

One bit of warning: time your hits very carefully with these. They cool so efficiently I've combusted twice with them.

They have more lag than a non-cooled straight shot stem so it takes a bit longer before the vapor/smoke hits your taste buds. Follow Dan's timing rules very closely.

I remember doing the same thing with the glass stem filled with the glass beads, it is harder to know at what temp you are, and when you realize, it is too late :goon: so I switched back to OG pear stem. But it does feel hot at times, so maybe I should give those beads another try !

I really like the wooden stems when I'm taking little sips and want to focus on flavor.

The cooling stems are much better for bigger hits but they require more finesse. It's not as direct of a response as the straight shot stems.

I use 4-5 beads, it's an interesting in-between.

What a beautiful piece of work! It's absolutely stunning. The time, care and love that's gone into this is so clear. You can feel it in every aspect. The artwork is fabulous, the colours and balance are so stunning in real life. The washi (?) paper wrap is an incredible material. Never seen anything quite like it. I was always pining over lichen buttons but the grey on that bog oak is absolutely perfect against the brass and artwork.

Vape wise it's also fantastic. People don't mention this much. Once you get a feel for the rhythm it's second nature and you can heat profile as you go through a load without even thinking about it. I think the feedback of that amazing button helps so much. The depth, resistance and solid feel of the contact from the opposing magnets really works. Kind of like pressing on a trumpet button. Very simple and direct pathway through simple materials. Basically as good as you'd get with a convection unregulated vape, so incredible but highly dependent on knowing and being practiced with the device. I wasn't expecting it but I am reaching for this over any of my other vapes as a daily. You can really control the vape experience depending on your preference and mood. I've not had an unregulated device with this power and heat up time before so it's really changed my mind.

I'm really blown away with it. The pouch is just perfect too. Feels so good in the hand, the indigo blue is fantastic.

Hello, Toad fam!
Got finally my hands on my little green boy and rn I am rocking it like this and getting wonderful results with higher heater. Just have to work on my technique, to avoid any possible charring, since I am new to unregulated devices. Just wanted to share this hoping it could be useful for anybody interested in capsules. This specifically is dosing capsule for Fury Edge, Fenix Mini etc.

What up Toad fam! So I've been switching it up between the low & high heaters a lot lately. And having some science fun getting them really dialed in. For a while I only used the high heater because I felt the low just didn't do it for me...I was wrong! I'm really liking the low heater more than the high now. The low temp flavor is amazing and can get it to hit hard enough if need be. Plus I feel it is more forgiving.
What's your all favorite? Peace!

what did you change using the low that you weren't doing before?

Just wasn't using it because when I first got them the high heater was a lot easier for myself to "get going". I did combust a few times till I got it down but then after that just stuck with it. With trying the low at first I wasn't getting satisfying results and thought it was underwhelming....Than I realized I just needed to spend some time with it! And glad I did!
So I guess the change was giving it (and myself) some time with it.

Sent Dan an email asking if he'd knew around when I'd get my chance on the Toad, low and behold he stated within the first 6 months of 2025! Been on the list for a few years now. Super stoked even though I've come to the conclusion that I don't really like convection vapes by now, but the VAS has been strong for years for a Dan vape :freak:

But who knows, might this finally be the convection vape I fall in love with?

What are the must haves that you need to order from Dan except the vape?

When it comes to stems, which stem maker produces the best cooled stems that are easy to clean now a days? Only use my devices natively, so no need for any recs on stuff that works with glass :sherlock:

How well does it work with those dosing caps? Does it add any conduction to the vape experience. Big fan of dosing caps on my FW, Venty and Mightys 🥫

I have the high heater and with the glass balls stem maybe I'm being too conservative, but I've yet to combust. They cool pretty well for their size.

How long would you have to hold the power button to combust?

Really I haven't combusted in quite a while. That was happening in the beginning when I was getting used to it. But will still push the high heater to a very dark avb. Lots of cloud but not much flavor like the low.
I also use a glass stem with balls/pearls. I have a couple from High Artisan and love them!

See I've got the experience of my high heater like you sort of describe your low. I'm struggling to get the abv even chocolate brown, but the flavor isn't totally gone either.
