So why did Mad Heaters go away from the Revolve-style double spiral in the stem?
Cost of manufacture will be a factor, as will manufacturing times. The new unit has a lot of intricate machining too, but probably isn't as involving as that helix design.
Heat transfer has always been a bone of contention for the mad stem users as well.
I remember even from the revolve Gen 1, users were complaining of the stem getting hot with Dynavap tips.
I still prefer the old one too personally, as long as the stem cools the vapor, I don't mind the stem getting hot.
The new stem works really well and performs better than the competition, which might be enough for most folk.
Who knows, maybe further down the line the previous stem will be available as an aftermarket product, or maybe there could be a premium and standard version one day.
I hope it's not gone for good, but if it is I have stash of mad stems and sleeves, so hopefully I'm sorted for a while yet
It may not even be out yet
There was chat of a new reasonably priced induction heater coming, but not out quite yet. I was assuming it was the YLL/Flare people.
I tried to have an open mind but I really dislike the v2 adapter and don't see myself using it.
It's pretty cool that one was included, I've tried it, but can't get on with it for various reasons.
Also makes it all more difficult using it on the move. It does work far better with the T2 than the glass one does, but the glass one is more convenient for me.
