Where are you seeing that? Just had a look on the UK site and couldn't see the upgrade pack. But I did just order a wooden sleeve!
I didn't even know all the accessories and wood sleeve were in stock for pre order. I hope I didn't miss my chance to get a wood sleeve. Where abouts did you see because I can't see it?

To me it seems Tv2 is a tighter fit for the ball chamber due to the fixed height locking screen.
Tv1: I can get 84 * 2.5mm or 44 * 3.0mm shaking/settling as they're put in.
Tv2: 84 * 2.5mm or 44 3.0mm, while possible, is much harder to fit requiring even placement at start and shaking/settling as they're put in once past the critical start area.
Either way, both heads seem about the same in number of balls.
I do like the added overall mass of the Tv2 head and the larger bowl which seems to distribute the heat a bit more evenly.
Currently running side-by-side Tv1 and Tv2 heads on Tv1 stems with 44 * 3.0mm Ruby balls in each with Wand as heater using v2 Wand Adapter.
Tv2 head improves on the already great design enough that I can say for certain I will be ordering a second full device and a few extra heads.

T2 has a slightly smaller ball chamber. The sleeve and cap height is 1mm shorter.
Anyone kinda disappointed about the price of the v1 upgrade pack? Don't want to sound entitled, but considering the v1 has not even been out for a year I would have expected the upgrade pack to not be the exact same price of the normal components used.
The difference is about £11 if I remember correctly.

Last few days I've been using a 3 flame torch , ruby balls, with both the cap and stem half closed.
Getting some amazing smooth and terpy hits.
Do you find the torch produces a better extraction than the wand?
I'm up to 370c on my wand and it's still not quite as good of an extraction as the torch, but I'm getting closer.

I'm holding off until the blue heat shield is available as well, usually I'm all about the wood sleeves but that blue is just too nice. Still not sold on the look of the wood sleeves, hoping they are better in person. Think the upgrade kit is probably a must for me as well, if it brings the v1 up to the same performance as V2 should be well worth it.

Getting consistent brown AVB with the wand at 300C and rubies waiting till timeout :)

I think I just enjoy the ritual of using the torch at home. When I'm on the go, I use the Wand. With my torch, I get a similar roast to what I get with the Wand set to 290–300°C until it times out.

The first is made of pequia wood, and the second is made of mahogany wood.
Those look rad, love the look! Bravo :)

Nah, £45 individually priced, £35 is a decent price to offer some extra performance to an old model. I guess he didn't need to offer any upgrade kit.
But I did just order a wooden sleeve!
Nice! I'll need to wait, just bought my meds yesterday and that cleaned me out. Would you mind putting up a photo when you get it? Might be a week or two before I can order one :)

Feel the same way. Chunky and fugly looking. Opposite of the wood sleeve I love on my Tempest v1.
But then again, it fits the aesthetic of the T2, which is incompatible with T1.

If it were actually old I would agree, but the tempest isn't even out for a year
But it's also a cutting edge design that's not old established tech, and to expect perfection out of the box when playing with new ideas isn't realistic imho.

Fair enough, but this kit will also be great for those who can't afford a T2, but would like some of the benefits of it, not just those looking to bump up the performance of their T1.

The time it's been out doesn't matter, if anything, it shows he's not leaving the old product or customers behind, even though he's had a lot of new stuff to work on.

The tempest 1 has been tested on here for what, 1.5 years before being released? The revolve stem the v1 uses also has been out for like 3 years.
But that also is beside the point I tried to make. It's ok to bring out an entirely redesigned version after just releasing a product several months before. But in that case I would expect a way cheaper upgrade pack for people who bought that product just some months ago.

Don't get me wrong, I love my tempest and will buy the upgrade pack either way.
