It was a bit later than I wanted before I started using mine last night.
Out of curiosity what are folk running their wand settings at with the standard zirc?
I need to carry on using the glass adapter for the time being, I use mine out as much as I do at home, and the wand sits in one of two pockets, neither of which the wand fits with the new adapter (doh
), and swapping these things all the time will get tiresome.
I'll probably swap over at some point when I figure something out for my pack, but not right now.
After a few bowls, I'm still tuning the head in, great results so far though, I think I will need to up the heat a little more, at 300° the bowl still isn't that dark, but it's producing big clouds - due to glass adapter maybe?
I'm well impressed with the head, I'm gonna need a night when the Mrs is out so I can properly play around with it, but I love it, on the smallest bowl it's absolutely ripping, and can't wait to start trying the bigger bowls, maybe that's a weekend thing though
Unfortunately I'm not getting on with the stem so far, hand feel is great, it's so comfortable to hold, also on the lips, it's absolutely great, weight and balance are superb.
But after two bowls my throat wasn't happy, it felt familiar to previous stems and left my throat dry, rough.
After swapping to an old revolve stem, the difference was night and day for me.
I'm not completely giving up on this stem, I need more time with it, like a proper night or two of trying various things so I'll see how it goes.
My issues with the stem are pretty specific, I have stomach problems that leave me with a raw and sensitive throat and vaping doesn't help it, it constantly irritates it, this is my issue, I guess for most people using this device, it won't be an issue, I mean it still does a hell of a job at cooling, or I wouldn't have gotten past one bowl...
And I still haven't done my usual stress test, I managed 4/5 bowls on the trot with the previous version before any irritation was enough to make me put it down.
To give folk an idea of how easy it is to really upset my throat, a single Dynavap bowl with an armoured cap and straight stem will basically render it raw and painful enough for me to not vape for a few hours....
Looking forward to more testing though
@General Disaster not sure, haven't tried it. But, if you anodise something, then dunk it in an etch, you can see the cycle of colours almost being stripped away.
So if you do green which is the last colour on the cycle, then dunk it in the etc, you'll see various colours appearing and disappearing.
It's quite cool.
