congrats mateOut for delivery
Yeah I bounced off the Storz stuff. Mighty just wouldn't hit me properly so I was wasting loads of material. I found I liked the Volcano hybrid more due to potency, but had similar problems with developing a cough. Hacking up phlegm.@RedZep @HaggisHunter
Not totally dissimilar
I spent over a decade trying to vape but I always had a bong under the house for when I needed it (which was at least every other day). I think my journey into vaping was along these lines: I think the first vape I think I ever bought was the Arizer Silver Sufer, I only remember as my ex took it when we separated, it was ok, but it was more a "gimmick" for me at the time, I was curious but wasn't really committed to it. I had pneumonia and decided I really wanted to stop smoking so I went and bought a full Stortz and Bickel kit; and as new ones came out I kept getting them hoping that they would be better than the last and fix the issue I had with vaping and maybe, just maybe, I would finally be able to stop smoking. I got a Volcano Classic, Might OG, Volcano Digit, Crafty OG, Crafty+ and the last two where the Volcano Hybrid and Mighty+... I don't use any of them and if I still have them and haven't given them away they are in boxes or on display. I was determined to quit smoking but... I couldn't, I just couldn't get medicated to the level I wanted to using the S&B gear (oh I had a OG Solo as well as a bunch of other stuff - I'll include the list of what I remember at the bottom), I would get frustrated, 4 or 5 bags in, just not feeling what I wanted to be feeling, using concentrates, on pads or flower sandwich, I just was never happy with it. Also as I was only S&B kit, I struggled with the dry heat and found that I got a lot of gunk in my lungs and was still coughing which was sort of what I was trying to avoid in part so, I wasn't quite happy with that. Also I would take a portable vape with me (a Crafty, Pax) when I would go out, but I would end up getting papers and rolling a splif and leaving the vape in someone's car or at someone house and have to get it like the following week. Its been and still is a continual journey of trial and error the Anvil and Taroma 360 and random dynavaps are my current rotation but its still not right.

I look forward to forming an opinion regardless, I'm enjoying everyones excitement even if its a honeymoon think (which you sort of suggest it isn't )Yeah I bounced off the Storz stuff. All a bit off topic, but yeah there are always trade offs. I haven't found any with Tempest though, unless it's something I don't think about. All I know is it's easy to use, easy to clean, satisfying vapour, reliable, hard wearing, easy to share, easy on the lungs, easy to reload, easy to inhale. Small, portable, versatile, elegant.
So I'm not finding anything that would annoy me over time. I can normally sniff those kind of things out quite quickly with a new vape.
Hard to know when honeymoon is over. I guess it's when the device becomes a daily habit that you sometimes do without even thinking. I'm not there yet, as the device is still joyful to use and I look forward to it.I look forward to forming an opinion regardless, I'm enjoying everyones excitement even if its a honeymoon think (which you sort of suggest it isn't )
I think so, or maybe I just like shiny stuff hahaYeah this is the perfect vape for you. Clear as day.
Well hello! What's vnas....? The temptation to have a go at a bigger drop might be hard to resist, but I am lazy like that so yeah I'll probably not be sitting at the laptop refreshing a pageHuh took the words right of my mouth. Another rare member afflicted with VNAS. Another 'it'll be ready when it's ready' type of person over here.
Yes you need to purchase a kit with free shippingIs it clear yet what happens with your final parts if you buy an early unit. Would I need to purchase a kit or would the final parts just be sent to me?
Cool! Thanks so much. I want this vape SO much. I might have to try to get an early one.Yes you need to purchase a kit with free shipping
Yeah just heat it up once with an empty bowl after cleaning.Or will it evaporate with the first heat cicle?
I didn't soak for an hour. More like 30 mins then hot water rinse. To all those who already got theirs. Its written that you can soak everything in ISO, ecxpet one o-ring, Benyo mentioned that too.
Did you really all soak everything for an hour? I usually just let my other vapes soak for around 15mins. And is it enough to just wash everything with warm wather, after the ISO bath? I am just wondering if there can be some leftofer ISO where the balls are, which you would then inhale.
Or will it evaporate with the first heat cicle?
Na, that’s what I did too, you’re fine, we both survivedI didn't soak for an hour. More like 30 mins then hot water rinse.
I didn't iso my tip/balls. I just did a burn off. Maybe that was not sufficient. Too late now
Thanks for the first impressionsThe Tempest landed for me yesterday. I was and am a happy camper.
For a point of reference my experience with TED’s is limited to just the past few months with a DV M+. The one thing the DV did do though was generate a ton of interest in the whole TED approach to vaping and the simplicity of it. The Tempest at this point seems to have landed as top choice and a bit of a no-brainer for me as the next TED I wanted to try. I have been a battery/desktop vaper since, well, as long as I can remember going back to 2008 or so.
I’ll admit when I took the Tempest apart for cleaning the number of parts seemed intimidating at first. I’m over that already even though I still hate tiny parts mostly since I tend to lose/misplace them. My DV cap being a perfect example that went missing for two days in the Dining room carpeting at home.
I did the ISO cleaning and warm soapy water thing on all the parts in the kit. Easy peasy.
I assembled the Tempest and set it up for my first usage with the air flow control fully open, Helix tube with SCU inserted and Air Path Control fully opened. I also added the extra o-ring to the Helix tube to put the spinning mouthpiece in ‘lock’ mode.
At this point I was itching to give it a try. Loaded up the adjustable bowl, I pushed the screen down for max bowl size, and then got my Wand ready by removing the DV insert that was already in it, and inserted the Tempest insert. I set the Wand temp to 700 F vs the suggested 750 F for ‘timeout’ mode. I heard one click from the clicker before the timeout mode engaged so I know that’s not quite working, but that was expected anyhow. The visual indicator was just barely shy of the third indentation so that appears to work satisfactorily.
Time to hit the Tempest with me feathering the carb hole. Conclusion? Holy shit. Wow, just wow. First impressions I know, but me thinks this is going to be a fun ride. Anyone want to buy a lightly used DV? .
Thanks! Here's to hoping the Tempest prototype accessory you expect shortly for concentrates is a resounding success. I'll gladly be a testerThanks for the first impressions
If you have a reload then I don’t recommend using the debowler, it works slightly better without it because of the reduced mass.
If you do use it then increase the temp on the wand by about 75F compared to my recommended setting
Me too I have spent the night ordering come vape cotton, sorting out my concentrates and playing with my Anvil as I have nothing better to use at the moment...Thanks! Here's to hoping the Tempest prototype accessory you expect shortly for concentrates is a resounding success. I'll gladly be a tester
VNAS = vape non-acquisition syndrome. A clunky attempt to come up with an acronym that's basically the opposite of VAS. Maybe VRS is better?I think so, or maybe I just like shiny stuff haha

Yes, you can pull it hard, it can’t break. If it doesn’t come apart then you can try to heat it a little or iso soak. How to take out the mouthpiece tube? Just pull ? It seems it won't come off, I am affraid to pull harder.
Spinning MP section, check the location of the o-ring to make it “locked”How to make the mouthpiece fixed and not rotate?
You should have a QR code in the package that brings you to the manual. Lots of very good detailed info there. Not being a smart ass, it’s actually a really good and well written manual. How to take out the mouthpiece tube? Just pull ? It seems the mouthpiece won't come off, I am affraid to pull harder.

Does the scu go in the mouthpiece ? just push in?
