@kokolokokolokon even on second read, I love it... I am not prepared !! I just need a Tempest :p
@RedZep I love your definition of science!
Speaking of testing. Brenyo sent me some glass sleeves and a secondary cooling unit to try out. Whole device has been cleaned and is just drying now.

I have a plain glass, and rainbow glass sleeve to try. Tests for performance won't be relevant as it's the old model sleeves made from quartz. The full release version will be made from Boro, and will be thicker and won't get as hot. But I can take some nice pics with it and give general feedback.

First impression is that the rainbow glass is really nice. It's subtle, but when light catches it you get blues and purples shimmering through the glass. Might be other colours. Need to test it in different light.

Looking forward to trying the SCU with a mega hash blunt.

Tonight the test is in taking Tempest to a get together. So the test will be the experience of taking it somewhere and sharing it with multiple people. My wand and torch are charged. I should have bought spare batteries for the wand actually. Maybe next time.

@RedZep I look forward to seeing the dimensions of the glass against the assembly, I only use my revolve with glass (but I see my Tempest as titanium). I'm keen to hear how its received and what the sharing experience was like (not that I have any friends lol).

@kokolokokolokon ok now I have watched it about 5 times, thank you, its good to see the different things being used in different ways, I am looking forward to doing the same, however I think you have covered the how to videos for anyone to come in and start using the tempest. Nice work mate.

*big sigh* I was talking to my girl and I was saying that there are a few things I am quietly excited about (in person, ignore me on here, I sound like a fan girl on here, or perhaps someone who has to know everything and bugs everyone but people are being nice :p ) and that these things that I am looking forwards too feel like well considered purchases, I mean, I don't think I have spent this much time talking about a something before owning one... I usually get something, use it for a while, give it away and move on... and then complain about it afterwards... so this is a new experience - but I read most reviews as if the person is in a "honeymoon period" lol but I love the videos and pictures and technique sharing and tutorials, I don't think there is a better pre-release customer resource available for a upcoming device than this thread.

Nice work guys (so much fomo :) )

Got mine today. What a beauty, super happy with the color.
ISO Bath is done, i will test it in the evening when the kids are in bed.
Do i have to have an Imgur account to upload images? Never used imgur before :)

Yeah I understand all the talk of honeymoon period. This vape is powerful, elegant, easy to use, easy to clean. So after the honeymoon period ends, it will be a daily beater for most. It's like that for me still. Still the vape I have on my desk all day incase I fancy a bowl, already loaded, sat in the wand ready to go.

I'm into Chinese teas. And I realize I have the perfect analogy. I have quite a few pieces of fancy teaware, all for different narrow functions. Including a masterpiece clay teapot used for one tea type. Yet you know what I use 99% of the time? A simple Gaiwan. Always on my desk along with the Tempest these days. Because it's versatile (can brew all tea types), elegant, easy to use, easy as hell to clean. It just gets the job done in as little fuss as possible.

When I first got this gaiwan, I kept holding it up to the light and admiring it's curves. Enjoying the tea stains in the cracks. Etc. the honeymoon period for it ended years ago. Now it's just the best tool for the job most days. I often use it without even taking my eyes of my work now. That's what the Tempest will be for a lot of people I feel. Those are the vapes we end up loving. Not because we are still enamoured by the construction, materials, aesthetics...but because it becomes a well used daily tool that we know we would replace in a heartbeat if it got lost or broke.

You can normally see the Tempest right next to it every work day. Tempest is drying ATM though, ready for heavy usage tonight

Great reviews @kokolokokolokon, really comprehensive, some of the most useful content posted so far. Wish I could get that variety of hash where I live :ko:.

I've been using the Tempest with no indication and loving it, can't wait to upgrade and see how much more versatility there is! I feel like I have a good gauge of how hard I can push it by counting blinks on the wand.

Sometimes I find it similar to the Terpcicle in the way that I tend to give it about 8 seconds extra heat when reheating, then keep drawing on it before introducing more heat (if even needed). It seems to ramp up and I guess it takes a few seconds to heat the weed with the heat as the bowl and heat source are separate. This little ramping up phase helps me to not combust without the indicators. This will probably be unnecessary with the indicators though I'd imagine.

Only problem I've had with the beta is the custom ball retaining screen collapsed into my bowl once but that will be a non-issue with the screwable ccd screen. The custom bowl screen I have right now seems to be totally fine for me but I think that will be different in the final also.

Best handheld vape I've ever used, I might use the direct flow tube tonight with a bong and bubbler, see what that's like. I haven't bothered to turn my ball vape on for 2 weeks lmao.

I didn’t covered everything 🤣 torches, other ih’s. Other stems. Bigger bongs, (other batteries ejem 🤣), other balls and more airflow configs.
So… c’mon, we want to see more pscience! :science:

We still haven't covered using while in the bath, or sneaking out of your Christmas work social function to vape a sneaky bowl in the alley. Loads of science left to do.

Let's retry the videos

Video and pics don't do it justice, it looks awesome!

The magnet in the cap is suuuuper strong compared to Dynas on the Reload. I don't think there's any way this accidentally falls... it's a two handed job to even tilt it off of the Reload magnet (with that much heat, this is a very good thing). The rattle sound was because I didn't have the cap fully screwed on for the video (oops). The balls do rattle but it's pretty quiet.

I tried to do a video showing the temp indicator. Wand set to 740F, took right about 30 seconds. It was harder than expected to get a good angle but you can see it moving here. Not sure if you can hear the click but it happens right as it gets to the middle (2nd) indicator.

I only had one bowl so far but it was insanely tasty and blew my Revolve Gen 2s away. Hits much harder too. The love story begins... more thoughts in the future as I interact with it more for my use case.

Cut down 2 lines worth of silicone from the adapter, it’ll be much easier to see. Push the glass to level with the black plastic case around the red silicone for the most optimal heating position.
It is useful to be able to see it! I was playing around topping it up on temps giddy like a kid lol

Do you mean the closed portion of the insert or the open end? I ask because it appears at least that with it flush with the bottom of the Wand (non-button side) that the IH is/may be heating the bowl chamber along with the thermal matrix??

Edit: Never mind I get it. I had it correctly installed.......interpreting things when I'm stoned isn't always my forte :D

Smknbud,
Ripped about 8 of the half bowl settings last night. I didn't pay close enough attention to where the airflow valve was set. I've been using the direct tube. This morning I adjusted to the full bowl setting, and figured out and played around with the different airflow settings near the mouthpiece. Right now I think I like the direct bypass setting the most. I just read above about adjusting the airflow at the tip of the cap, so about to play with that! Absolutely loving this so far. Even with direct airflow the vapor isn't too hot. Love that I get a full extraction from the first heat up every time

Should there be o-rings on both ends of the heat shield? I'm guessing that I lost one from the air-port end, because it's floating free. I'm usually pretty good about not losing little bits during disassembly/reassembly, but I was a little excited this morning as I had a very narrow window between its arrival and time to go to work. But I can already confirm--the Tempest is a ripper!
