Just wondering if someone that has their tempest 2 could possibly post a video of them cleaning it or if someone has a link to one I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm kind of confused about how to properly disassemble and what parts to actually soak in iso. Waiting for mine to get here and just want to be prepared to clean it right.
It's really easy to take it apart, you unscrew the mouthpiece and the stem comes apart, it's a lot easier than the original.
The head just comes away from the stem like the old one, so pull it apart, then just unscrew the ball head, from the bowl, dunk the parts in ISO, clean, rinse, job done.
Have fun when you get it.

So after a lot more testing, I come to the same conclusion as with the Tempest V1. It’s insane but the manual is a trap. :p

I couldn’t get any good hits so I decided to do the same thing I did with the Tempest V1 and disregarded the manual and made the Tempest sit much higher so the notches protrude about 5-6mm and upped the temperature to 300–310 with Zirc (330 with Ruby).
(Downside is you can’t see the VI anymore like with the glass adapter but I usually get a feeling for it and pull it to check.)

Head airflow is about 30–40% open and stem is fully closed. Results are insane. All of a sudden I blow huge clouds and the taste is so unbelievably good I would say I have never tasted cannabis like this in my life. My Frozen Lemon Mints tastes like I’ve drank a minty lemonade. :o
This is still at smallest setting so this is only the beginning. I will test a lot more but I can say this is a winner.
For me, minus the top housing screw issue, the definitive choice for a portable ball vape.
It’s not even that a Tornado or other vapes suck, but the Tempest combines many intricacies and details no other vape delivers.
The way I can effortlessly take gigantic OHE rips that make me lay down or rip many huge hits for a long time with breaks to be able to talk, not having to rush, was something I was always chasing and it’s here.
200% better than on Tempest V1 in that regard!!! Also the taste got even better IMHO! (Maybe the higher, better quality of heat or the more direct stem.)
Congratulations Brenyo, I’m sure once everyone got their hands on it this will be talked about as it pushed and refines the Tempest V1 in ways that actually pushes it over the edge fully!!
:leaf:
So to people who read here and are struggling: disregard the manual with depth setting and set the Tempest much higher and up the temp!! It’s about 1000% better for me now. In love to be honest! Basically set it as high as you still can get dark brown roast with around 300-310C.

It’s not all roses though, to be fair and transparent:

- My Tempest V2 floats on the top screw and scratched my Reload beyond belief unfortunately. I also looked for burrs and swapped to the flat screw from my Tempest V1. Still hovers even though it’s better. I feel my indicator housing has been maybe slightly misdrilled (0.5 mm or something) so sanding doesn’t help here.
- My CCD got nicked and it’s kinda impossible to set it perfectly now so it’s pretty crooked even with the C-shaped tool as help (very cool idea btw!)
- Also super minor: I wasn’t aware that it came with rubies and I bought another pair so now I have a useless pack of rubies and ball screen here.

Anyways, rant/raving over, have a good one family!
:peace:
i gotta say, these are some great recommendations. much happier with the results i’m getting now. can’t wait for that new CU to drop and i will be one happy camper!

Video seems a bit overkill imho... you can do it in an ultrasonic cleaner or manually. The only thing I do not clean regularly is the tempest head / balls. Maybe swipe the head inside a bit.

You just need to dissasemble the device into 4 parts (without head) and pop the screen out. You do not need to clean the heat shield really, but just wipe it away because of your finger grease and all that.
Take you cleaning solution, some q-tips(cotton swabs), a toothpick, some kichen paper towels. ISO is 70% for me, easiest to get but not the best, it's enough though to make it sparkly.
I personally don't do soaking, just some elbow grease ;) If it is not shining, it is unclean! If you can smell something other than the metal, it is unclean.
I am done in about 10 - 15 minutes depending how high I am, because the first step is always take a hit before cleaning. warmth is your friend.
Cleaned yesterday morning, so my next clean is coming up later today or tommorow, I'll try to take some pics for you if I remember.

Man this is my first post in about 5 years...

But had to tell you i really liked the color scheme...

Enjoy your Blaze... :-)
thanks dude :D i really enjoy the colors, i polished it with polyboy and it went back in the colorscheme a bit ( the color depends on thickness of the oxidation layer). So i gave it a little retorch and the blue is much more bright now, i love it.
I will make some photos and share them later with you.

v1 was already a breeze to clean, especially with the plastic tube, that fits entire stem apart from head and shield.
v2 is even simpler to clean due to less parts, but it doesn't fit in the mentioned tube, so something similar would be appreciated. Should be easy to source regardless.

Trying the 0.2 bowl last days...works like a charm, even extraction, clouds and clouds, with only downside that stash is taking a toll too quickly...being used to v1 0.075 bowl, so no surprise :D

Having the v2 stem at the local woodcrafter for a few days so he can make a wooden sleeve, hopefully with groves so cooling ribs can be seen thru...therefore been trying v2 head on v1 stem, that also pairs nicely.

I don't have a tempest yet (SOON though, my T2 is in New Jersey right now just waiting to hit the post office so it can be delivered) but imo it's worth it to buy a small ultrasonic parts cleaner. Because it's titanium you'd want to make sure all the pieces were held still otherwise they'd get scratched to hell and back but they're super cool and do a better job than we can with things like toothpicks and q-tips

What are in your opinion the biggest differences between the v1 and V2 stem? Positive and negative.

I only have v2 for few days...but, ye, I like that v2 has less orings than v1. v1 cools vapour slightly better, at the expense of bigger restriction and condensation.
With v1 you need quite some time to understand all the settings possible, while v2 is much simpler.

I like them both, so can't see myself parting ways with v1 in the near future.

General Disaster

Schrödinger's rat!
Also, from my experience, that better cooling of the v1 stem results in a far hotter heat shield, while the v2 takes the heat in it's stride while still delivering a cool hit natively and easier to back-to-back because of it. Of course that larger bowl on the 2 makes it less necessary.
Bottom line, despite the fact they are still damn great vapes, I've not touched the v1's since getting my 2 three weeks ago.

Bonjour ! Merci d'avance !

Word!

Yup, heatshield does get hotter on v1, but I never had issues with that. Apart from one time, when I put TA4 head on, and passed the heated device for the very first time to a buddy that only had experience with dyna. Forgot to warn him to only touch the lower part of the shield, where air hole is. After few puffs, dude got surprised/scared by the heat and somehow threw the vape itself in the air...thankfully we were seated at a wooden table and it landed on it.
He later bought the Tempest and TA4...so it actually wasn't that bad after all :D

".d's Tempest 2 no-soak cleaning tutorial for new owners"

Pictures here, but only with numbers, I will try to order them by steps here on the post when I get the time, it shouldnt be too hard even like this though

Stuff:
  • Tempest 2 device
  • C-shaped Tempest key
  • cleaning solution/ISO (Isopropyl alcohol, stronger = better)
  • cotton swabs (Q-tips)
  • paper towel
  • toothpick
  • Dynavap original condenser (optional but recommended)

Steps:

0. Load it up - heat it up - take a hit
🎶
(NOT WHEN DEVICE IS NEW as machining leftovers might be present !!!)
Careful to let the head cool down a bit before doing anything with it if you do not have a Reload to leave it on.

1. Disassembly:

a) Head - unscrew it from the bowl
b) Mouthpiece - screw it off counter-clockwise
c) Heat-shield - just remove it from the stem, it will probably fall off on its own once the mouthpiece is removed
d) Stem - remove the cooling spiral
e) Bowl - detach it from the stem them gently
f) Screen/CCD (Circumferential Compression Diffuser) - pop it from under with a qtip or DV condenser

2. Cleaning:

a) Head - ISO swab inside, ISO towel wipe outside
b) Mouthpiece - ISO swab inside, ISO towel wipe outside
c) Heat-shield - ISO towel outside
d) Stem - ISO swabs inside, ISO towel wipe outside
e) Cooling spiral - ISO towel wipe
f) Bowl - ISO swabs inside, ISO towel wipe outside, toothpick slots
g) Screen/CCD - ISO towel or swab

3. Assembly:

a) Screen/CCD
Flatten the CCD if needed, put it in the bowl, take the Tempest stem, push it gently all the way down
If you want other bowl size settings, you take the C-shaped key and attach it to 1 of 2 possible slots on the Tempest stem (narrower end), then you put the Tempest stem end into the bowl. Hold firmly and then take a DV condenser (or something similar) to push the CCD from under until it hits the tempest stem part and slots into the grooves in the stem.
b) Bowl/Stem
Grease up the O-rings on the bowl a bit (i use a little of my skin grease mostly), then attach the Bowl back to the stem.
Put back the cooling spiral any way you want.
c) Heat-shield
Put the heat-shield back on the Stem, with the WPA (water piece attachment) side facing opposite the bowl and the radiotor grill cutouts facing the bowl. Position the airport cutout as you wish and hold it.
d) Mouthpiece
Screw the mouthpiece on while holding the heat-shield firmly until it is tight. (if you don't hold it while screwing on the moutpiece it will move at the end)
e) Head
Just screw it back on the bowl.

4. Finish

a) Throw away junk made
b) Put back the cleaning stuff
c) WASH your hands thoroughly
d) Put some ISO on part of the paper towl and wipe the whole device
e) Take a dry paper towel and once more wipe it all away
f) Let it rest a few minutes for the potential leftover ISO to evaporate

I really struggled to remove the ball screen, after i managed but ruined it in tje process, the hole in the middle became bigger because of the extra force applied. Put the rubies in, fitted with the extra provided ball screen(thank god this was included), seems to work fine now. It's just a little twist to lock /unlock screen right? No full screwing action like on tutorial T1 head?

Wanted to order a new ball screen to have backup again but now the EU site is down. 🫠

Yea it was a challenge for me too, but mostly because I didn't have a proper size screwdriver so I had to use the reload debowler.

@Acedia yeah i notice they are hard to remove at first. I sanded the 3 points a little bit to be easier…but damn, the system is way safer than the previous one. It is a little twist + click sound.

The EU web is temporarily closed
Hope it really is temporary, I'm not done with MH yet :D

Putin is a War Criminal
So it's looking like the shipping of the TI Tempest2 is completing and there are lots of happy Tempest2 users out there.
Has @Brenyo circled in on a date for the store to start taking preorders for the aluminum shielded Tempest2 for "the rest of us"?
To avoid drooling into my beard I have somewhat stepped back from this thread recently, so I don't know if Brenyo has shared any new release info...
